  • Re: Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 Owners Experiences

A Dream that pushed me today to go and book a TBTS 350.

I'm feeling great that soon i'm going to become the owner of an amazing cruise bike (At least from my view) from RE, I had been to mysore last week and rode my cousin's Enfield Electra and it just happened to have very good with power compared to my FZ S which is 5yrs now and struggles in pickup, the bike was in my mind for over a week and yesterday I dreamed of riding a bullet and that just pushed me over the edge and booked bird 350 with waiting period of 4 - 6 Months.

I have never been technical about how to maintain a Bike tbh, I just wanted to know if anyone have received their new TB 350 and how was the vehicle condition from the factory delivery? what speed should i keep the vehicle to achieve good mileage and till how many km, also I'm used to kind of taking stress on my hand/shoulders with FZ S while this bike handling is much different with your arms above than regular bikes hence, did anyone experience difficulty with turning or pain when keeping your arm high for long 1hr to 3hrs (if touring), my height is 5.8 and i think it suits me well.

    Response appreciated! Thanks.

Running in method is well documented in user manual.
50kmph till 500kms or first servicing. Try not to exceed 2k on RPM. You can find user manual on RE website.
Riding should be more relaxing on TB compared to FZ for longer tours.
Experienced TB riders should be able to help here.

Congrats for booking ypur bike! Now the long wait..

As mentioned before do not cross 2000 rpm in any gear for the first 500 kms that will be around 50-55 kmph in the top gear and then gradually open up the bike to higher rpm but sanely. Do not cross 3000 rpm till 2000 kms i.e. 80kmph approx. in top gear. Keep the rpm in sane range and bike would be fine.

TB will definitely have a relaxed seating position compared to FZ but it might take a lil time to adjust from a stooped position to upright with higher handle bars but the ride will be very comfortable, the bike is designed for long hauls so no issues with 2-3 hours pf riding, you should anyways take a break after two hours to keep out the fatigue.

Hey guys.. Happened to drop by the RE showroom yesterday. For those who would like to know how the new Stone black TB with new logo looks, here is a pic. I personally liked it. New logo looks decent on matte finish.

I have a rather unusual question...
I have seen comprehensive PDI list for TB. Is this normal for all bikes?
What I mean is that I never referred to any PDI list when I got my CBZ in 2009.
So, TB needs this PDI because there might be some problems or ideally, I should have had PDI done for my CBZ as well? :-)

There is a pdi list for every bike i believe but seldom does the showroom goes according to the pdi, and they don't even tell about this pdi to the owner, the showroom guys only say that after the pdi bike will be handed over to the owner but never mentions the points of the pdi, so RE has got an comprehensive list of the pdi then that's good.
