I used it on my rx100 (earlier i had the chain guard removed, but now its back), and now i just use 90 gear oil (which is cheaper and I anyway buy it for my dio gearbox, so i just use that.)
To clean the chain you can use diesel and an old tooth brush & Avoid that high pressure water wash.
Whatever it is, dont over do or neglect it.. Since yours is a open chain and probably an o ring chain, do keep it cleaned and lubed every 15-20days

Sad to hear about the mud board mishap. But the engine generates so much heat?

Is there a better way? Would mud flap on the front mud guard been better?

I have not yet got TBird in my hands yet [emoji19]
But I intend to follow J. Ravi blog as reference guide for servicing and in general care taking of my bike [emoji41]
Salute to Ravi sir for dedication towards his bike as well as towards sharing information with us all! [emoji122][emoji122][emoji122]

sir ji, you were advised to use a mud flap a few days ago
20rs mudflap 10 mins installation time would have saved you the hassle, no get the flap fixed. I will try to get a pic of a tb with the flap, but the prob the guy who owns it works in a different shift and leaves the office before i arrive.

                Hi Guys,
I changed the stock silencer of my new Thunderbird 350 sometime ago with the Indori silencer. I am very happy with the beautiful sound the new silencer gives out, but my pillion riders, mostly guys get their legs burnt as there is no heat shield for the silencer.
Any idea or suggestions as to how I can get a heatshield for the Indori silencer?

                -regards,

                • New Thunderbird 350 Wet Problem

                  Hello Friends,

I bought Thunderbird 350 in last November and was really happy with it's performance.

I am from Rajasthan and it's Mansoon session and I encountered with small rain few days back. While I as still driving in the slow rain my bike went wet and suddenly the bike lost it's power to around 50%. I to stopped to check and when I gave full throttle around 2-3 times it got fixed.

This happened with me 2-3 times and every time I have to stop and give the full throttle few time to fix this. Every yesterday I apply same approach but the bike didn't get fix and I have to coverall the way in Half of the speed . I can't imagine what could be the issue.

I asked about this issue to the RE dealer in Jaipur who told me that it's because Spark Plug in TB have iron covers which need removing as when they got wet they disturb the power-supply but I am not happy with this answer as they are almost inside the engine which was in high temperature which mean the water will dry-away insistently.

Please can you let me know if you have fix for this ?

                  Thanks in advance
                  Kishan

Getting my bike delivered Tomo after a long wait of almost 4 months.. Argh. How tough this wait has been. Checking different forums and pictures of others bikes.. Stopping and talking to every guy who owns this bike to ask questions... Changing colors and logo.. Finally it's gonna end. It's Tomo and I can't sleep anymore..

                      Hi,
just wanted some info about this....calling all Bullet purists for there inputs.
NOTE: i didnt get the answer from CGT forum.

Why are these here? i don't see a sari guard required for the CGT as its registers as single seater. (as told by dealer)
is RE working on a new cruiser based on the CGT frame with dual sari guard as with the street 750 and others HD's...

I think dual seats are an option. Coz I've seen few GTs with dual seats..

                            Hey guys..

I've got a question to those who bought their ride by paying ready cash one time payment instead of loan.

Other than the booking amount, when did you guys settle the full amount?
I was told by RE sales guys that I am supposed to pay full amount almost 10-15days before delivery. When I asked 'why so', they said they have the registration and other formalities to be completed from delivering.

Anyhow I did pay the whole amount and it's been over a month, I haven't got my bike yet .
I'd like to know, is the payment procedure same everywhere i.e pay the whole amount couple of days earlier.. Or is the payment done only once the vehicle is ready, so that you can take away the bike in a days time after registration??

Please give your comments cos These showroom guys have been playing around and losing my patience. :banghead:

Hey. You're required to pay the full amount 4 days before delivery so they can finish up registration all. But you can take bike without registration and then do the registration yourself. The showroom guys are seriously ripping you. You can put up a case or at least threaten to. There's a poster on the wall of the RE showroom here in Chennai saying when you have to pay and all details. You can charge interest legally on that amount.

Does it happen only when it rains ?
Otherwise Start of by doing the following:
                                1. Next time when this happens, please keep the petrol tank cap open and ride for a cpl of km (of course not when its raining.. if its raining, then just open the cap and shut it after a few seconds) - if the problem goes away when you ride with the cap open , then it could be due to an air lock
                                2. Get the air filter cleaned or simply replace it (does it appear wet when ridden in rain ?) and petrol tank drained completely and drain the carb using the drain screw at the bottom of the float bowl
                                3. Finally if the above two steps do not fix the issue, open up the carb and have the jets inspected for any blockage and give the carb and jets a cleanup
