    1. Ditto here
the stock front mudguard wont fit after u put a 100/90. you can try the 90/90 of the TBTS 500.
I read somewhere that a Sirac drastically reduces the performance , mileage etc . i'm planning to go for a 110/90-18 Zapper Q

    2. ----

    3. I dont think so. i'm using a pair of roots vibro mini and an osram 60/55w headlamp and till now everything's good.

I have tried the first two options and currently running 100-90-18 meteor because of leh ride coming soon.

    1) Suggestions for any alternate Tire (Ribbed pattern scares me )
Has any one tried this ?
Front: Perilli 100/90 MT (19 inch)
Rear: Michelin Sirac 120/90 (18 inch)
Please guys look at this post on facebook :
Global forum where Riders can get together, share stories, experience, knowledge and help each other.

All your doubts will get cleared.

Also I am using Pirelli MT90 120/80 18" in my TBTS.
performance has increased and not decreased.
Indian button tires are nothing but use less. If you really want proper A/T tires, then import it from outside.
There is a lot of difference. Also the tire will not kiss your swing arm at any point of time.
I have reached around 120 with this.

    • Need suggestion for a better rear shock absorber for royal enfield

      Hi guys..
I own a RE thunderbird and was thinking if I could replace the current rear shocks with a better one that would give a much softer ride comfort. My budget is upto 15K. Any suggestions?
      cheers,
      Raj

that's good, but what about mileage drop ? a guy at RE service told me that there will be a loss of 5-6 kms of i go for a fatter rear tyre like on the Classic. how true is this ?

I have changed rear tire to 100-90-18 and front to 90-90-19 and i got 43 km/lt in mixed driving city and highway.I dont think there will be 5-6 km/lt drop with 110 -90-18 reear tire.

The conventional fuel lock that fits other bikes dont work with TBTS due to the outlet design of the bull. As suggested by others, Ramkote has fuel locks, there are many stores and they are helpful in finding one for you.

After 2 days i discovered the lead. Its not serious. Went to the service centre and they found that the nut below the tank was not tightened properly and was leaking there. The leak stopped once it was fixed. But of late the fuel is leaking from the cap. The service center guys have replaced the rubber thing inside and it stopped for a while and then came back again. So they found that the screws inside the cap were not tightened properly and now i am not seeing the leaks. While taking delivery the sales guy told me not to fill the tank full or else the tank may leak. I hate filling the petrol again & again. I need your help guys. I want to do the tank full. Any suggestions?
How many liters approximately do you fill fuel when you say full tank. I have already criticized the fuel cap design on RE TBTS. Its ancient and tamper magnet. 10 Lt is more than sufficient if you fill full tank and ride around town, again if you are visiting places where your bull is insecure, keep not less than 3 Lt. The fuel tank is larger than specified in manual. So don't go filling 15 Ltres or more, you sure are going to get fuel pouring out of the cap. With 10 Lt, you should be good. If you are going touring, 12 to 13 Lt approx. And the rubber bush on the fuel cap should be in condition. (which dont many much difference anyway)

                    • Why the TBTS ?

                      Ride, Comfort & Handling :

The seating posture and comfort is too good and it took no time to get adjusted to it and I was cruising in merry, but moving in traffic was slightly difficult initially but eventually I got habituated Also, I was feeling pain in both my arms, I thought it would go off once my body gets habituated to the new bike but it dint happen. I discovered it was due to the handle bar and replaced it with an electra one. Problem vanished Handling is simply terrific, but during winds its not at all steady and sways a lot. The tyres are disappointing. Planning to go for zappers in the future.

                      My red bull

Engine and performance :Oil leaks :

Oil leaks started at around 1500kms. Leakage was from a small hole below the right spark plug. It dint drip on the floor but stained the fins noticably. Got it fixed at 2nd service where they filled the hole with some transparent rubber type sealant.

                      Kitna deti hai ?Horn :

                      Headlight :

Initially the beam throw was too near. Changed the lamp to a 55/60W and told the guy during 1st service to adjust the throw. They over did it and the beam was going up towards the sky . I had to adjust the throw myself. Now its good.

                      Mirrors :

                      Accessories :

Got a studds cruiser box. Looks match well with the bird and it can carry a decent load.

Future mods : Conclusion :Truly Royal !!

I have changed the rear tire of my TBTS to 120/80 18 ..
Yah the mileage will drop a bit. For me it dropped by around 2-3 km/ltr.
                        Not more than that.
But again after changing the spark plugs to Iridium , my mileage is back to normal as before.

will certainly take u up on your offer!

brother, meter indicating 'no fuel' doesnt do much good when you are stranded in the middle of nowhere!
