I always loved the M4 exhaust and thanks superlife, I am tempted to go for this. I was thinking of the Hot Bodies MGP Growler but since it is too bloody loud, i'm gonna say no to it.

Did you buy this Moto2 exhaust for your Ninja? If yes, i hope you can share some feedback about the sound compared to the M4. The M4 retails for approx. 500 USD + shipping.

          • Finished second servicing at 5415 kms on the odo.

            1. Switched to Motul 5100 15w50 Semi-Synth
            2. Got rid of the stupid front number plate.

Its too early to comment on the new oil, but I have heard good things about it. So lets see.

            • Hi brother this will be my first post in this thread and i must say that any propect buyer MUST go through this thread before buying a ninja. It really gives us a virtual ride altogether.

I have Seen many Kawi formus but this is my favourite to say the least.

Well i do have few question form all you Kawi owners that

1.How comfortable is it for pillon rider on long drives

2.I do own a karizma and i was really keen on buying this bike, and i am no way comparing this bike with ninja,
however i have heard from many ppl that a upgrade to a ninja from karizma does not makes that much difference,in terms of power and speed.

Now i totally disagree to that because well all know by now there is more to ninja than just speed and power
but let suppose if that is true, then by what period do you guys think i should upgrade to next level.

I seriously want this baby and i am really afriad that what if my quest for fun dies on a very short period after buying it,becaused 3lcas in no less.

              Thanks

Hyperion : Terribly inconvenient. For both the rider and the pillion.

2.I do own a karizma and i was really keen on buying this bike, and i am no way comparing this bike with ninja,

Hyperion: Which bike does this friend of yours own? From his words it seems he owns something 600cc+. Trust me , I have ridden the ZMA as well. There is no comparision between the two in terms of power and speed.

I seriously want this baby and i am really afriad that what if my quest for fun dies on a very short period after buying it,becaused 3lcas in no less.

Hyperion: What is your calling to motorcycling? Do you like high speed dashes on the highway? Long distance touring on decent/bad Indian roads, without Pillion? Cornering and Track riding? If yes, you can blindly go for the Ninja.

Do you instead like to take your bikes to all sorts roads and rugged terrain? DO you want to do some touring with a pillion? Do you want a bike you can better afford? Keep the ZMA.

If I were you, I would keep the ZMA and if you answered yes for the first set of questions, get the Ninja too.

                Thanks

The Ninja is not very comfortable for a pillion on long rides. The rear seat is pretty hard (harder than the riders seat) and after 50kms the ride is uncomfortable. I havent ridden with a pillion for more than 50kms though.

I found even the riders seat very hard initially (a weekend bike in addition to my Fiero) and it took more than a month for my ass, shoulders and back to break in to the new seat and ergonomics. In just 50 kms I used to have pain from almost everywhere but now i can do 400kms in a day easily.

To compare a Karizma with a ninja is like comparing oranges and apples. Both bikes are very different in their own space. I have not ridden a Kari or even a P220 but the power delivery in the Ninja is linear through the RPM range, smooth, crisp and more than adequate for indian roads. It effortlessly does 100k's and by the time you shift into 6th you are doing over 140kmph (if u shift each gear above 10k rpm). A Kari or a P220 can't accelerate this fast and moreover even at these speeds the bike is rock steady. No vibrations, no drama nothing. The brakes are crisp, excellent and have lots of feel and bite. If you are overenthusuastic you could end up in a crash or a fall since the brakes are just too damn powerful.

There is no other bike in the 250cc segment that offers this kind of power, handling, control and stability, and of course reliability and peace of mind too. Fuel efficiency is a comfortable 23kmpl if you are constantly shifting at no less than 12000 rpm).

Bottomline - buy it and you wont regret it. If you want to upgrade to a bigger bike thinking this'll bore you soon, then wait for the 650 ninja which might be launched sometime at around 5-6 lacs (no confirmed news on this though), but the 250 is more than enough for our roads.

                  • +1 to n_aditya and hyperion

The Ninja is not for two people.. I have done many rides with a pillion, first the rider does not enjoy it, 2nd the pillion complains that their ass is hurting .

Frankly till 6000 rpm the Ninja would act somewhat like your ZMA, but after 6k it will go bezerk. If you haven't ridden a bigger bike (like me). The moment you cross 8000 rpm you will feel something new and it wont stop till 13000 rpm. The said feeling is heavenly.

Go for the Ninja.... keep ur ZMA.

                    Ride Safe.

                      • Thank you very much for your views and suggestion killer_instinct,n_aditya and Hyperion
Those were the golden words that i wanted to hear,i really dont want to go for a 600cc since
                        1.cant afford it
                        2.not user friendly
3.I think the power band is also at the later stage

so i think ninja is the only better option as of now for us enthusiast to feast upon.
I would really like to keep both Kari and Ninja, and if we can upgrade to a better aftermarket seats then whats more to it.

I wud surely go for ninja

once again thank you so much for your views guys,it seems all you ninja owners are really happy.

Dont buy the 650R ever ! Buy 2 Ninja 250Rs if you wanna spend more money on bikes...but not the 650R.
The 650R IS NOT the elder sibling of the 250R.
The 250R is "the bike that can do" motorcycle. It does everything fabulously. Jakrap has done some moderate offroading on it too.
Its got a really powerfull mill. Dont judge it by its mere 250cc displacement.
Its super smooth and at high revs its like a diseased mad dog running bersek on the streets.
The Ninja 250R will ***** slap a Karizma anytime in performance...perhaps not in comfort.

There are loads of aftermarket exhausts available for the Ninja 250. Of the entire lot, i loved the M4 as it was bassy and had a nice "beat" to it.

Other popular options are Two Brothers (most popular), Yoshimura and Akrapovic. Check youtube but dont rely on them a lot as the actual sound will be pretty different. Moreover most video's are recorded in closed spaces like in garages so the sound appears bassy and nice which definitely will not be so in the real world as there will be a lot of ambient noise around.

You can buy aftermarket seats like Corbin gel seats. Google them. But IMO you won't need them. I wanted one for my bike initially since it was painful to no end, but now i'm good. No need for gel seats.

Thanks Ten. When i read in one of the automag's that the 650 is coming, i had a slight tug in my heart. Why didnt i wait for the big one?
