    In order to avoid any future confusion, please Cross verify the source and check the details on the original manufacturer's site. and post them with the correct units.

      Finally, Dream.1 has come true. The Ninja has crossed borders to find it's master. How courteous. Big thanks to Kawasaki for this precisely engineered masterpiece. An epitome of the biking world. Though only a 250, has the big bike chills. The feeling(s,) just straddling across the seat, and then on is(are) ineffable. This bike made me feel like I was a pro the very moment I started showing it corners even at slow speeds. Just invites your confidence. Though a novice at riding, all those doubtful thoughts were thrown down. Riding this bike like an amateur becomes so perfunctory a task, you start thinking about how your new girlfriend should look, even while taking corners at pretty high speeds.
      Still done only around 30km and I give it the veneration unlike for any other bike I've ridden which otherwise I didn't have the confidence to ride so well so quickly. Phew! What a machine this.

          The Ninja is 24 KW (33 PS). The post might have confused KW to PS & published 26. I am damn sure its 33 p.s. If its not its a punishable offence which i dont think a leading brand like Kawasaki would indulge in.

          So all Ninja owners breathe easy.

                Just for information purpose..

                I think some of you are using the normal unleaded fuel in the ninja, so have you seen any changes in the performance or mileage for that matter??

                          What i meant by unleaded normal was the normal fuel(87 octane) supplied by IOCL,BP, and HPCL.

                          Actually leaded fuel(which has now been stopped since past 7-8 yrs.. use to destroy the Catalytic convertor.. and with the advancement in the technology .. when these CC were launched.. it was found out that the platinum in CC was reacting with the lead in the the fuel ... So that was the reason why the world shifted from leaded to unleaded.

                            I routinely use normal unleaded fuel in ninja and have not found any changes in either performance or mileage even if I use Octane 97.

                              I plonked this in and have ridden my bike for a little over 2000 kms.

                              I noticed that the exhaust pop's when the bike is slightly revved up when the engine is running idle.

                              Is the engine running lean? Is this a cause for worry? Should i go back to the stock foam filter?

                              I thought the ECU adjusts to compensate for more air that is flowing in. Am i right?

                                Backfiring happens all the time, in cars and bikes, it is incomplete combustion, fuel is left over, and shot into the exhaust pipes. The heat from the pipes then ignites the vapor and boom, backfire. Not uncommon, should happen when decelerating in gear, the explosions aren't as violent, and don't get as much gas burned, so left-overs happen.

                                If you have it happening at times other than when you are decelerating, then yes, you need to talk to Prasanna.

                                Trying pulling in the clutch when decelerating, it will help to lower the RPM, so the slight mismatch between the air intake valve and the exhaust valve opening at the same time sending the residual air fuel mixture into the exhaust will be minimized.

                                The kwacker is tuned to give peak performance at higher rpms, hence the time gap needed for the exhaust valve to completely close and the air valve to open is very short and at times will overlap when you use the engine to decelerate... giving you the dreaded popping.

                                I like the sound though. :-)
