Not yet..mechanic told me to check if fuel pump vibrates on start of bike..if not vibrate (on touching from bottom part) then fuel pump is faulty...this need to check when bike get stop...i am waiting for my ZMR get stop automatically during ride from almost a month...then only go for next process..Originally posted by antan_shank View PostWhat did you do to rectify it?? A fuel pump pressurizes fuel and sends it through the fuel line to the fuel injectors. The fuel injectors atomize the pressurized fuel and inject it into the combustion chamber.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Fuel pump pumps the fuel into the injector.. the injector has a very minute hole that it requires pressure and thats what the fuel pump does.. lets the fuel into the fuel injectorOriginally posted by antan_shank View PostCan explain the difference between fuel pump and fuel injection??
this is just to make you understand..
The fuel injector injects the fuel into the combustion chamber but with a very high pressure.. I have experienced the pressure of fuel from the fuel pump.. one crazy evening it was for me and my friend

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Did you change the Fuel pump?? Or do I need to do the same?? Is there no way out other than changing it? The pump cost -12k approx - right?Originally posted by veryhiphop View Postsame happens to my ZMR...engine stops...give throttle with start..and bike starts....SVC says issue of fuel pump....
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
SO if I touch the Fuel pump (black bottle shaped thing on left, correct me if I am wrong) at normal condition it should vibrate - right?? I will check it today while returning home.. And when the bike stops automatically and while restarting if the pump doesn't start then the pump is faulty.. Does the pump cost 12k (approx)??Originally posted by veryhiphop View PostNot yet..mechanic told me to check if fuel pump vibrates on start of bike..if not vibrate (on touching from bottom part) then fuel pump is faulty...this need to check when bike get stop...i am waiting for my ZMR get stop automatically during ride from almost a month...then only go for next process..

Isn't there a way to repair it??

Yes pump cost 12k...with push start put one hand on the bottom base of the fuel pump...you will notice a vibration...if this not happen then its faulty...this can be review any time with start of the bike...
Fule pump cannot be reapir...you need to buy it....its made by Honda...if you see the packing, you will notice it...

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
I was in the ZMR 2014 thread and came across the image on new specs and when I compared it to ours the bore and stroke are the same with difference in compression ratio alone..
What are the components that raises the compression ration of bike?? can we do it on our ZMR(s) ?? bore and stroke changes would have been difficult to imply but how about this? 3bhp more with change in compression ratio alone?sigpic

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
The Injector Joint of my bike went kaput in the middle of the road. Heavy fuel smell was flowing through my nose and when I realized its from my bike, I bent down to see from where it was leaking.. there was heavy fuel leak and I parked my bike to the side and turned off the ignition.. after I turned off the ignition, the fuel wasn't leaking. It made me understand only after I turn the ignition to On, the fuel was leaking. I immediately called up my friend cum my biker pal to come to the spot.. we both meddled around with the bike.. we found out the issue.. The Injector Joint was already broken into 2 pieces and it was sealed using M Seal. I have no idea when this happened and it was not known to me.. we tried to find the spare for it and it was no where available.. so we fixed it back with M seal for time being and we ordered for the Injector Joint..Originally posted by Raja Saiyan View PostHow ?
This Injector joint is part through which fuel is pumped into the Injector..

we were unable to fix it back as we didn't know which direction it should go.. we had to go via hit and trial and every time we fixed it, we turned the ignition On and the fuel pressure was like hell.. only after fixing it in the correct position we were happy..Splendor - 2k to 2006

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Fuel pump can be repaired. There's a coil inside the fuel pump that can be replaced/repaired for Rs.300 (three hundred). I had a major issue with the fuel pump last year. Mine was under warranty so it got replaced. There was another who was not so lucky.....but he found this guy in Thane (MH) who specialises in CBRs, Ninjas, and other high-end bikes. Many in this forum are aware of the tussle between me and HMC's management. The ASC in Kolkata flatly refused to replace, while in Thane, the guys detected the issue and replaced the fuel pump.Originally posted by veryhiphop View PostYes pump cost 12k...with push start put one hand on the bottom base of the fuel pump...you will notice a vibration...if this not happen then its faulty...this can be review any time with start of the bike...

BTW, the fuel pump does not necessarily stop vibrating at start or stop even when faulty. In my case, the fuel pump was faulty but showed no signs or symptoms of a failure until the last moment every time the bike stopped abruptly. The SVC at Thane saw the issue first-hand and dissected the fuel pump. The coil inside would get short at random after the heat increased (that is, after the bike would run for quite sometime).
The other guy who had his fuel pump repaired had left a message in this forum around November 2013. I am unable to recall his name....
There are also a lot of videos on repair kits for fuel pumps on youtube! I hope this helps.Last edited by RaajD; 07-11-2014, 04:46 PM.Current: Hero Karizma ZMR || Royal Enfield Bullet CI

RaajD Bhai when did you face the issue with your bike's fuelpump ? also how old is your bike, how much did it run at that time, i mean the total km at that time?Originally posted by RaajD View PostFuel pump can be repaired.
