The recommended Grade for Karizma used to be 10W40 till mid 2007 I guess.. not sure exactly when they changed the grade and not sure why.. Maybe the experts might be able to help you.. I used to fill the engine with 10W40 back when I had my Karizma in Chennai...

Had a small doubt ,would like some enlightenment form you - Is the term Engine tappet sound and the loose time chain sound the same ? or are they different ?
And what are the reasons for these sounds in our Karizma's/ZMR's.
As the name implies they are different..The tappet or Valve clearance sound comes as a clicking sound ,with a gap in sound(if only one valve clearance is excess), while the Timing chain sound will be like a sewing machine ...depending on the level of wear or slack running....
All four stroke bikes with timing chain and rocker valve actuation will get the respective sounds depending on wear and poor maintenance.

Changing to 10w40 will decrease performance

Refreshed my ride today. Had to pay for the service as they said the interval had gotten more than 100 days. But anyways, will continue to visit ASC every 3 months here on...

I have one question. I used to place the manual and documents here:

Was that bad? Anyways I moved to here from now on:

Make sure the snorkel has more than enough room to suck in air and it is really important.

Is the manual necessary to be placed in the bike? I just keep a copy of the insurance in the toolbox compartment along with the toolbox. It's better to leave as much as room as possible outside

I have been using 10W40 for last 2 years and believe it's a blessing during the summers... Though it was Shell AX7, still many of the members said that Veedol super swift is even better than AX7.. - Agree??

Do not block the snorkel by keeping clothes or bags as this will reduce Air flow intake

Are you planning to go for the new ZMR's open chain type. Please share pros and cons for going from closed to open type. One thing I feel it might be easier to lubricate it once a week. No need to remove any fitting.

The main reason i am going for open chain cover is tyre...having PSD 110 section tyre from last 1 year. in my ZMR..there is an very little margin between tyre and cover...if riding with pillion ..sometimes touches the chain guard...on single person drive its ok...
