  • Re: Royal Enfield Classic 500

A friend took delivery of the latest edition of RE 500 classic, Squadron Blue. Costed him 1.75 on road. The showroom says he's the first guy in Bangalore to take delivery. Am not sure, so just wanted to verify the same. Is there anyone in this forum with the same bike? I have attached the pics.

        Hello all,

I am now a proud owner of the classic 500. I took delivery exactly one month ago. I have completed around 1500 kms as of today and finished my first service couple of weeks ago. So far the bike is running excellent and I have no real issues with it.

As for my experience with Royal Enfields, I used to own a bullet 1983 model and I had to let go of that bike due to some personal problems. I am glad to have finally bought another Enfield and am throughly enjoying my bike. It has brightened up my days again.

I have owned several bikes in my life and while I have had a bond with each of them I don't think any of them can give me the same pleasure as an Enfield.

I hope to post more in this thread and look forward to interacting with all of you

If its stainless steel youre supposed to use coke+red scotchbrite.. The green will do no good thats in the kitchen.

If its chrome, use coke+aluminium foil.. Pour some coke onto a folded piece of foil and scrub away!

Tomorrow the bike will be going for its second service. Its been an absolute pleasure riding the bike so far.

The only trouble that I have started getting these past few days is that sometimes the engine sort of chokes after being heated up at around 70-80 kmh. I suspect this might be due to the spark plugs needing cleaning or the air filter needing changing. I did not want to remove anything or fiddle with anything myself since the bike is under warranty and the free service is close.

The only real maintenance that I have been doing is cleaning the chain. I hope to learn a lot more DIY maintenance tricks myself by the time the free service and warranty is over so I can be satisfied that proper work has been done on the bike.

I have converted my RE C500 to carb, using pulsar 220's BS 32 carb. But I am facing the following issues.

                            1. The bike can be started only the sensors are undergoing self check (the moment we switch on the ignition, when the MIL lamp is on for a brief moment)
                            2. Usually, the carb I am using makes AFR rich when it is turned anti-clockwise and lean clockwise. But it is working vice versa on C500
                            3. Cant get the jetting right. Any one on this setup can throw some light on the jet sizes you use. Or what are the jet sizes used in B500's UCD 33 Carb?

                            Will appreciate any help.
This is not just a means of Transportation. Its a vital life component!!

Guys I have recently booked SB 500, here in Delhi.
Kay's Auto is not even giving crash guard with the bike, and charging 1600 for the same.
Firstly I wants to know if the crash guard comes factory fitted or I need to buy that.
Secondly should I buy the crash guard from dealership or from Karol Bagh.

If I should get it from Karol bhai then please recommend a shop in Karol Bagh along with location if possible.

                                Regards
                                Vivek
