  • The new and much better oval shaped swingarm in TB500, 41mm wide front forks and rear disc shall make it much better and safer motorcycle to ride. The handling is expected to become even more slightly stable than current bullets with changes in suspension and swingarm. This is all part of and enhances the overall ride quality and safety and should be passed on to other RE motorcycles as well and shouldn't be kept exclusive to just the TB500. Atleast the Classics should receive these upgrades as soon as possible. People would be happier paying for safer, more reliable REs.

    • although i am not very much knowledgable about bullets, but since i got interested in thunderbird 500 i found out that - the wheelbase of ne thunderbird 500 is reduced as compared to other models.

it may change its handling charecteristics a little bit.

      • I made a bike trip to Mumbai and changed my Classic stock seats to more comfortable seats. The shop is at Andheri east called Perfect seats. The person's name is Imran n he has custom seats for Classic bullets. The pillion seat is now much wider and offers comfort as good as the front seat. The springs have been removed and instead there are 2 metal strips holding the seat on the frame. Also the height of the seat has reduced a bit to give a more comfortable riding position and now my feet fully reach the ground. If anyone wants to get a more comfortable seat then you may go to this guy. I got his phone number and address from some other discussion forum. You can search Imran and Perfect seats and you will get the number.

            • Classic 350 unusual sound

I have a classic 350 black with 1000km run. Recently I came across an unusual sound from the rear part. When I put my bike in 3rd gear and keep throttling above 40km/hr an unusual sound(its like a bajaj auto sound(culu culu)) is coming. When I put 4th gear the sound gradually drecreases and in 5th gear @ 60km/hr the horrible sound vanishes.

I tried to figure it out by putting my bike in main stand and throttled the bike in 3rd gear. But no unusual sound came. I guess when the bike is in load I mean with pilion the sound is more prominent.

Plz help me out with this guys. What it may be, from where it is coming???

no Idea.. get it checked from an RE authorized mechanic. Try to pin point where its coming from. Ask someone else to hear it when you are riding.

A strange thing happened yesterday. My bike which is just 1 and a half month old..the clutch cable just snapped while riding.. Had to replace it.

Yes I saw this helmet at ProBikers helmet shop in Pune. It was green in color with the Chinese Red star. Honestly I didn't go for it as it looked too Chinese. :P
You could try calling them and ask if they would ship it to you at Bangalore.
Also if you are open to suggestions I would suggest a better helmet for your Classic 500. Its the one I got and its an amazing helmet. Its from RJAYS. Model TSS TOMCAT Black half face helmet with dual visors. It also comes in Matt Black. Its a great helmet. Its sturdy, is very lightweight (arnd 1200 gms), Has a clear visor and also a tinted sun-visor inside.

                          • Hello there...

Hello friends, I'm new to this board and a first-time bullet-eer. I have a Green CL 500 with an upswept exhaust which I bought in April 2010. I've driven it for about 4,000 km and am extremely happy with the bike.

I still remember the first 3 eventful days with my new bike. It was my first time with a bullet (I hadn't even taken a test ride before booking) and was really shocked at the vibrations that the bike threw at me when I rode it for the first time from the dealer's to my place. The next day after taking delivery of the bike my wife and I left for Diveagar (a nice beach about 150 km from Pune) and then the troubles started. To cut a long story short the rectifier of the new bike was not working so the battery wasn't charging. I was stuck with my wife on a lonely place with the bike refusing to start. The experiences that followed included buying a new battery, recharging the old one, the new battery dying as well cause I didn't know that it wasn't charging and finally a rickshaw ride to the beach.

After that first ride I knew that a bullet is a different bike and you need to take care of it as you would take care of a cranky girlfriend. To top it all, the parts are not reliable and the service engineers are not well trained but riding your bull at 80 kmph on an open highway makes you lose all your worries and connects you with God.

I wish all bulleteers a safe ride. Keep thumping!

                            • Hello Everyone,

                              I just had few questions

                              1. Is maintenance too much for RE bikes (350 classic)?
                              2. I have heard from people that bike is not reliable how true is that?

                              3. Is the bike dependable?

All RE owners please let me know the answers to these questions as i have booked a RE 350 classic and now thinking whether to go ahead or to cancel..... Thanks in advance your responses will be helpfull
