  • Black classic 500 booked

    Guys,

I just booked my black classic 500 with a 45day waiting period. The wait game/pain begins...

    • Guys,

My girls flip flop melted onto my offroad silencer :/ .. I pulled off most of it once the silencer cooled down, scraped off some after i got it hot again. Left a brown mark though, any idea how to get it off ?

        Q. How many RE Engineers does it take to engineer 2 heat shields (One below the kick, second one below the pillion footpeg) for an RE Exhaust?

        A. Zero. They will never make even one.

Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

          • Hello All,
I have booked the CBR250r n also the RE Classic 500.
I have read a lot on both the bikes and i cant pretty much make up my mind.
As CBR250r is a decent sports tourer and well a Bullet is a Bullet they cant be compared.
But since am going to bike the first time and I want it to be with me for a long time I would like to choose one which can last.
My usage would be only on weekends for long rides and once a week ride to my office.
With all the problems with the C500 I am inclined towards the Ceeber but I would like to know what kind of resale value can i expect after say 5-6 yrs of usage.
            Kindly help a fellow rider.
            Thanks & Regards

Never seek advice while buying bikes.......u may end up buying a LUNA...... Always value ur personal prefeances.....and not of others.

I would say go for the thumper since you are going to use it only on weekends. I have owned one since last 4 years and still love my ride as I use to do on the first day. Moreover Royal Enfield retain their value better than other bikes.
But at the end of the day listen to your heart.
If you want a bike just to ride....go for a CBR
But if you want a bike for your soul...look no further -> RE 500

                • Guys i got my first Bull... RE classic 350

but i wanted to ask one thing... How to check the petrol in it ??

since it has no fuel indicator like the classic 500.... Every time opening the petrol tank and shaking the bike to check is not a feasible solution.. also one can guess wrong... and i cant always keep mileage in mind as to guess the petrol... so please help me that what could be right solution to this problem...

                  • @Lovish, Congrats on the Bull. The Classic has a reserve capacity of app 3 lts. When the low fuel light starts glowing, its time to head to the bunk

                      Thanks for ur wishes bro

But dude I got 350 not 500.. sorry for posting in 500 thread as there's no 350 thread.. but I guess there's nit much difference between the two except the power...

Coming back to the topic... classic 350 has no low fuel indicator

but I got my answer in RE ownership thread.... all I have to do is never to. Keep my bull on reserve.. as classic 350 has a lever to select petrol between on, off and reserve

that way whenever it gets on reserve all I have to do is head to next petrol pump

One day, I will take it easy. Today won't be that day...

                        Hey ppl
This is my first post on this thread. been thinking about a post since long, but now there's a need, so this post comes in jet speed...Anyway, i got an offer from a client of mine who owns a cl500 green. 1yr 4 months old, 14k kms done and in pristine condition. He's quoting 1.2lac for it. Do you guys think its a good deal? I'm just an admirer of bulls & have little knowledge of its pragmatism, hence advice of experts here will mean great value to me...looking forward to your inputs..thanks in advance all of u

I am no expert as I got my forst bull this week only but I can say this much.. if you can pay 1.2 lac for 1.4 years old bike then why not buy a new 350 at 1.2 lacs or a thunderstroam by adding additional 40k.. afterall a new one is a new one.. the real fun is the first 1.5 years and that have already gone for that bike.. but if he gives it at 1.1 lac then that would not be such a bad deal as that means you will save a whopping 50k and you can sell it at a good price or even at a premium if you getthe right customer... but before buying it get it checked throughly by 2-3 good mechenics and make sure engine of the bike is perfect.. never go by the outlook of a bike

                          That's all I knew

A Better way is find to a good RE service center guy in your city. By good I mean honest one. You can ask about it in this thread. Take the 2nd hand bike and show it to him. Take his opinion. What others say is true. You have no idea how the bike was run-in and if the engine is in a good condition or not..
Very True- "Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity."

I like- "Bikes are not supposed to be a rational decision. If you can park it and walk away without looking back to admire it, you got the wrong one."

                            • Keyrun,

If like me you are slightly impatient maybe you should go for it. The chances are your friend might have already sorted out the small problems that are frequent among bullets which show up during the initial run in. So if he ran it in well and the bike handles n feels the way its supposed to, its fine. But do get it checked by a good mechanic.

                              Good day.

                              • Tyres for Classic 500

Hey guys, I've been riding a Classic since the past 4 months and I'm not happy with the current zappers on the bike. Handling in wet conditions is really poor and I panic the time I see a wet patch on the road as the bike starts tailing and I have no control. The upcoming monsoons have got me worried for a tyre change. My budget is not an issue, I don't mind spending extra for good quality tyres. Please suggest me the best tyres in terms of grip, and also whether I should go for tubeless or no
