On road price 1,63,500 (excluding the new high security chip number plate which needs to be installed from RTO. Don't yet know the cost but my guess is around Rs 500-700). However, I have a question -- When I booked my bike back in May, the on road price was quoted as 1.61lacs but now it's almost 2.5k dearer. Is it correct/legal of RE to ask for the increased price? Also, dealer has told me that I have to buy a helmet from the showroom as a mandate from the supreme court. Is this correct too? I mean I know of the mandate but is it necessary to buy it from the showroom? What if I don't like any of the helmets in the showroom since they don't have any variety and also because I already have 3 helmets. Anyway, I would like to go in the market and buy a good one of my choice. Any suggestions from the bullet owners? Also please suggest what all I should be checking while taking the delivery of the bike since I am not very familiar with bullets. Dealer told me that they do a 70 point check as PDI before delivering the bike but if anyone knows some specific stuff to look out out for, please let me know. I am not opting for the upswept silencer as IMO the standard one looks much more beautiful and compliments the bikes look perfectly. Also, I am not opting for the Teflon coating as I can take care of the paint and shine myself (courtesy 3M) and also not opting for the Rs 2500 anti rust package(??) which includes free replacement of any rusted part for 1 year. RE is really sure of its bike parts rusting I must say

    Appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks
    Congrats on the bike.

And, the supreme court order to buy helmet from the showroom, I have never heard such a dumb way of selling helmets to the customers. There is no need to do that. You can buy any good helmet of any brand like Studds, AVG (Indian brands) and LS2, Cross etc.

Don't go for any rust pack or any Teflon coating etc. The bike does not need all those thing. Just buy a Amway or F1 polish.

I also opted for the stock silencer as in my opinion it is not wise to pay 3k+ just for more sound. If you wish for good thump n sound you can go for Sans Inc but I think you should not. I love the sound of stock silencer as it is not very high.

Whenever you take the bike, check for all the levers, kick, locks, wheel alignment, oil leakage, rusts etc.

Saree guard and pillion seat are part of the bike. But, you have to pay for leg guard.

After buying just don't drive it like a sports bike. I mean don't do cuts or sudden acc or high speeds (before the first service). Try to keep the bike under a shed away from the rains. Once in a week, you should polish your bike.

Actually, this bike got so much of power, to feel it you have to use highway.

I got so excited about my bike that I used to call the dealer on weekly basis. My dealer, who promised to give me bike in two months, gave the bike in a month. I made him cry nearly and he was begging me to stop calling him

Thanks Adi for the info. Will check the bike around for all these points. And the helmet buying mandate thing was really annoying and funny. Dealer also said that if you don't buy the helmet, you'll face issues in getting the number plate from RTO How can you ride your bike in Delhi without a helmet anyway is what I asked him and the answer was "Bade bhaiyya, ye to SC ka rule hai ". Thanks for clarifying and now I am gonna buy a good one from the market

Nice pics. Where were these taken? I went to Ajmer/Pushkar last weekend and the roads looked similar to your pics.

The route is from Jaipur to Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. These are near Sikar.

If you have it in your heart......if the thump drives your adrenaline.......if the desire to ride it crosses your mind every day.....you need not think about anything else.....just go for it......you wouldn't want to regret when you are older to not have had owned the dream machine....

                      • Just got my bull (black C5) today. Couldn't get the feel properly since the 5kms distance from showroom to home was full traffic and couldn't go beyond 3rd gear/30-40kmph and then had to rush to office after parking the bike at home. Really waiting for the weekend because I am going to wakeup at 5 on saturday morning and take my bull on a long expressway ride. But mechanic at showroom told me to keep it till 50kmph till 1st service. That's gonna be real real tough given all the power and torque but need to take it easy at the start since I want to enjoy this classic for a long long time...Happy thumping

                          • Riding my best bud's new (3 week's old) classic 500 for past few days... loving the power. The Fi has made it even better. Bullet without Fi is nothing, in my opinion. If anyone wants to feel the real torque, get Fi.
Was getting a peculiar sound at the initial crank of the day, only at idle. The sound would go away gradually as the day progressed & bike runs. Took to SVC. Meanwhile, got into a chat with Ratanjeet (Fellow biker who rides Desert Storm & Thunderbird) & told him about this problem. He informed me that this is normal in new bikes as its the counter weight which makes the sound during initial crank & will go away as bike does some kms. Interesting to note that SVC guys were clueless about it!
                            Anyways, loving the ride
