Today morning an even weirder thing happened. I kept the ES button pressed for about 5-7 seconds and then the bike just kept cranking. I switched off the ignition switch and removed the key and it still kept on making the cranking sound (like it's trying to start). Terrified the shit out of me because it just wouldn't stop for about 2 mins. Then it just shut off. I could still kick start the bike though.

Guys one strange problem in my friend's C500... If we start the bike and put the headlights(not parklight) on, the bike stops.... To put it on again, we should run some distance and then only it works...Any idea what the prob. is?Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Its been 2 days and 317kms on the ODo.. This is the first time that i rode a bullet which i own and dear GOD help me. I just can't stop riding!! POWER POWER POWER its made of sheer power and elegance..
Problems that i'm facing:
* Grear shifting is not smooth but i guess once the runin is done it will be better...
*There is a notable vibration in initial gears but once i shift to the 4th it all feels so unreal...
SO far lovingly loving the experience....

Firstly Congrats for your ride,You'll love it even if it gives you daily issues,Now coming to gear shifting, you'l get use to it,try shifting gears without letting the RPM decrease too much.Vibrations is like a copyright product,I've started enjoying them.Run in her well and she will serve you forever,Now some pics please.Originally posted by mizbah View PostIts been 2 days and 317kms on the ODo.. Hi Guys,
I booked my Classic 500 yesterday(25th July 2011) here in B'lore. the waiting period here is 6-8 months and it has only been 24 hours since i had booked it but still can't wait for the bull. this will my second bullet, i have been riding my dad's 1979 Std. 350 for the last 6 years. but wat makes this CL500 special is tht this is going to be my first owned bike entirely from my own earnings.. the '79 bull was my dad's first bike after he started his job and the CL500 will be my first bike after i have started my job. so the feel is also setimental.

hey guys.. Need help
hi guys, i took delivery of my classic 350 yesterday in the evening & by night my bike went kaput
The odo is at 14kms. last night when i went out to park my bike inside i thought of taking a ride across the street. I pressed the electric start & there was a loud bang almost like a mini explosion from around the carb area. I could see smoke and it scared the shit out of me..i tried electric start again and the bike made weird grinding noises kind of..chuing chuing chuing...kick start made the same noise &the bike refused to start..today being sunday I was unable to reach the service center so I called the emergency number & got hold of the mechanic who came around 3 o clock..they opened the top part of the cylinder head after removing the tank to expose the hydraulic tappets..i asked the mechanic whats wrong & why did it happen on a new bike..his response..there is a leak from the gasket & it was not sealed properly..he also asked me if I experienced a drop in pickup while getting it home & yes I did experience it while riding home from the showroom but I ignored it thinking that its because the bike was low on fuel and I also didnt rev it much.
Now he says that t bike will be taken to the service station tomorrow and fixed. My question is weather I should be worried about it..cauz its absolutely absurd for something like this to happen to a brand new bike. I have also posted on a fresh thread..awaiting approval.

blown head gasket issue
I searched for the blown head gasket issue on the classics and didn't find any. Seems like i am the only one who has a blown head gasket on a 14 kms run classic 350
I am not sure if it was just a leak or the head gasket has blown over. But it did sound like a blow! Will come to know tomorrow.
What should be my next course of action? Will changing the head gasket resolve this issue? I have many questions in my head and i would really appreciate any inputs from the senior members.

@nirmesh - Didn't notice any oil leakage after the kaboom! There was not even a spec of oil anywhere.
Update on this issue -
It was in fact a blown head gasket. The Service manager admitted it to be a case of faulty assembling at the factory. He assured me that other then the gasket everything else is perfectly fine and not damaged and this won't ever happen again. I had a look at my piston and barrel and found nothing unusual. The barrel had very fine pattern on it though that was becasue the piston had started to make the necessary clearances during the running-in. It looked beautiful
When i asked that the head of my brand new bike has been opened and i won't get a company fit so wouldn't that create more problems, to that the service manager said that even at the factory the assembling is done by hand and in similar fashion so that won't be a problem. So far my bike runs fine, feels a little rough on lower gears and while de-acceleration though i feel its normal for a new engine. Though you are right that i should test ride another c350 to make sure. Will do that and compare. Other problems i am facing is with the ignition lock which is pathetic in terms of quality and a squeaky sound from my seat! Thanks for your inputs.
