I am thinking of getting a classic 500 from Dhone automobiles Pune.
I have to ride to college around 23 kms away one way every alternate day or so. In a day my total mileage would be around 35-50 kms.
Should I get the 350 or 500? any advice in this regard is appreciated. Thanks!
If you are looking for more power & command over road then look no further & get a C-500 by sacrificing fuel efficiency.. But if you are expecting mileage then go for the C-350..!! The C-350 or basically any of the present 350cc bikes from Enfield return a fuel efficiency of somewhere around 39-45kmpl..!! Where as the C-500 returns around 28-33kmpl..!!
But the C-500 is like a HEAVEN on Earth..!! Its got a hell lot off power & torque associated with it..!!
My bond with the oil hearts :

        • patience pays!!! Before buying RE500, i have gone thru Bullet 500, rd350, p220 and yr15 and believe me its much better than all these - eye catcher, comfort ride position, superb pickup and in dread winter morning its half self start and whats more , it satisfy ur ego. I enjoy its ride so much that i keep on finding excuses to drive it.

            • haha it seems fate has turned against me.. managed to find a buyer for the car but now mom's saying no for the bike coz Pune is too dangerous for bikers she says! Been trying for three weeks to convince her but she's too strong in her decision! any help from fellow bikers who won the battle would help me

It's tough to convince moms. Try and get one of your friends who has a bike to your home or even better if you have a relative who is an avid biker. Tell her that you would take care of yourself and wear minimum protective gear all the time. Your mom is just worried about you, you have to convince her that you will take good care of yourself

And btw don't sell your car now itself, the bike won't be due for the next 10 months if you book now, so plan ahead

                • I do wear gloves and a helmet all the time whenever I ride.. I guess she's more worried about others on the road than me riding badly.. The problem is all her cons regarding bike riding are justified guess im just gonna have to let things roll and see if she agrees... Thanks for letting me know bout the waiting period I totally forgot!
will post again soon if I do manage to convince her..
Thanks a lot to everybody who took time out to reply.
                  Cheers

I have been wanting to get a RE for myself since the time I rode a Thunderbird in Leh last year. But then couldnt really decide between TB and Classic. I love the looks of a Classic though, looks too awesome to resist
Still havent decided on which one to get but then decided to call up a dealer for the availability. Unfortunately the waiting period for the Classic is 9months and 4months for the TB. Is it the same all over India or just in Hyderabad?

Depends on what you want. Ninja is a Sports Bike and is faired. CL500 is more of a cruiser and is naked. If you want a cruiser within 2 lacs look no further, get CL500, but you'll have to wait 10 months if you book now. If you want a sports bike and can afford 3 lacs on a bike, get Ninja, simple.

People from outer states are buying it from Punjab. Here u can get classic 500 in 3 weeks flat.

I got it in 15 days. Bike is truly irresistible.

Last but not the least, what the on-road price of it?
