Bend in rim is one of the primary reason for handle bar "oscillation". Please note difference between oscillation & vibration.

I would contest this. In straight line, Enfields should be much stable. This is because of it's weight (cross wind factor) & longish rake angle. In curves it may prove to be bit cumbersome but 110-120 should not be a problem for Bulls in straight line.Originally posted by sparky View Post

@rx100.7050 i would second that. i own a C5 and its rock stable at 100+
there is nothing wrong with the bikes design. yes it may not be as flickable around corners like the others.
infact i used to feel shaky on my karizma R when going more than 100

Yes almost completely...it does vibrate a little but that is due to incorrect tyre pressure up front.Originally posted by sidewinder View PostMy bike's smooth around 80.. then the vibes get irritating... so changing ur rim cured it completely ?
You can also experiment with tyre pressure and see if you notice any change.Last edited by deejaay; 04-30-2012, 06:55 PM.Tour de Thar 2014; Exploring the Thar Desert

Rest your bike on main stand, rotate the front wheel and notice if there is any change in the lines of the rotating tyre. Try focusing on the edge of the rim(where it meets the rubber) from a single point, you would easily pick a bend as you will find a distortion in the rotating seam.Originally posted by sidewinder View PostAnd how can i check if the problem is with my rim?
Thanks in advance..
If you find any bends, take it to a tyre shop and get it confirmed, these types of bends are common and can be caused by negligent driving also.
Usually a manufacturing defect bend will be in multiple places and most probably 'S' shaped.Tour de Thar 2014; Exploring the Thar Desert

Guys, is there any difference (apart from color) between the regular Classic 500 (black) and Desert Storm? As far as I know, the front forks of the original classic 500 created some handling issues but the DS had upgraded front forks. I need to know if the new classic also has the upgraded front forks. This will help me in deciding whether to go for the DS or black classic. I love the sand inspired paint scheme of the DS but paint quality leaves much much more to be desired. Also, black is easier to maintain and keep in shining condition over the years as minor scratches/patch ups can be dealt with easily. I am not sure if the color on DS can be easily maintained and scratches will be much more visible and hard to cover. Any insights? ThanksStrength is measured in pounds.

No difference at all! The DS and the Classic 500's all are the same now with the upgraded front forks. DS colour is not that tough to maintain. paint job is good enough. The paint-damage prone parts are mostly near the main stand which will happen no matter what even with a black 500 I think. Otherwise there's no such problem with the paint of the DS. But you won't get the shine of a Black Cl500 in DS. For the DS its all matt and it looks awesome and out of this world. If you do go for the DS then be prepared for some compliments coming your way from total strangers.Originally posted by The One View PostGuys, is there any difference (apart from color) between the regular Classic 500 (black) and Desert Storm? my 500 classic
I have been riding CL500 for a year and this is really a different beast. Whether u drive it casually in market or on open road, its handling is remarkable.
I added a old style handlebar, saddle bag and new indicators. The pillion seat has also been made comfortable.Last edited by ruby; 05-06-2012, 12:51 AM.--------------------------------------------------

Some alien issue
I've been witnessing some strange issue with my CL500.
I used to start the bike with a kick every morning and it used to start in a single kick. After keeping it on for a couple of minutes, pull the choke for about 25-30 seconds and then take off!
It was running well since I got the bike, but recently, even when I follow the same procedure, the bike started going off when I would start moving.
If I would be at low rpms, the bike started going off. When I would be in the 2nd/3rd gear, while accelerating there used to be a loss in power.
While revving suddenly to overtake a vehicle ahead, the bike would jerk and go ahead, sometimes would just stop.
Also, there was something which is commonly known as miss firing.
I took it to a service station today where I listed all the complaints. This wasn't a part of my free services as my 2nd service took place at 3300 kms and I have currently clocked 4300 kms.
After 3 hours, I got my bike back but the issue hasn't been resolved completely. I have been asked to come again after confirming the presence of a software engineer who will connect his laptop to my bike and format some software which will retune the engine and the miss firing issue will be taken care of.
Is this believable?
And, has this happened to someone before?

I faced "jerking" problem in very first month of purchase. Fuel injector was changed and then ecu was remapped thru software but problem was not solved. Jerking is caused by improper fuel/air mixture. So at last throttle body was replaced and now its been a year that i have not faced that problem again.--------------------------------------------------

Thanks a lot for the information Viper. I am sure that black classics also get the compliments from strangers but maybe not as much as the DS :-)Thanks anyways.Strength is measured in pounds.

Very funny. Thats why some DS owners are repenting on their choice due to these compliments.Originally posted by The One View PostThanks a lot for the information Viper.
