Hi Guys,
I was planning to buy a Classic Chrome and went to a RE showroom for a test ride and once done I was happy and was about to pay the booking amount but then the sales guy insisted that I test ride the new TBTS500 before booking the classic and after the riding the new TBTS I am confused between these two. I like the looks of Classic chrome but the new TBTS seats are more comfortable than the classic, its like sitting on a sofa and riding a bike. Now my query is can the new TBTS seat be fixed to the classic chrome? I asked the same to the sales guy and he told me its possible after a few modifications but he was never confident enough about that. So guys please help me here, can this be done? If yes, then where in Bangalore can I get this modification done?

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 500
HEllo Vijay, firstly welcome to xbhp and hope you have a good time here. Now coming to the point of fixing the thunderbird seat on the classic 500, yes it is possible but its better to not go for thunderbird seat, because it will almost cover up the tool box on the right side, instead you can go with a seat similar to its shape. I myself is havinga classic 500 and i have changed the seats similar to that of the old thunderbird with some minor modifications. Will post a pic of my bike if possible by today evening.Originally posted by vijayvk_84 View PostHi Guys,

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 500
Guys I have a question ...
I've heard lots of REs making very loud "Phat" sound (not the thumping
) at certain interval .
Is it a engine characteristic or is it created manually ??I don't brake rules , I merely test their elasticity ;)

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 500
Hi Friends,
A week ago i become a proud owner of RE CL 350. her stunning look and performance is awesome. but one thing bothers me is the absence of Fuel indicator. can anyone suggest me the possibilities for replacing the Ammeter with fuel indicator? (Like CL 500 is having the fuel indicator).

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 500
Hi, need a bit of advice.
Installed a monster ffe on my classic 500. On deceleration there is a popping noise. Now, I have done a bit of reading on this and have gathered that the popping is due to unburnt fuel igniting in the exhaust during deceleration.
My question, is this harmful to the engine or not. And if it is, what damage can it cause, and, what can I do to remedy the situation (apart from switching back to the OE exhaust).Phoenixflight.

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 500
Firstly Congrats for the bullet.. Awesome decision.. This is a decision for which you will always pat your own backOriginally posted by BarkhaHi Seahorses, how are you? I have booked it on 22/5, waiting time is 2 months.....but my lady charm worked......getting the bike on 25/5. !!!!!! there is one small mod and another big.
1) pillion seat, 2) New exhoust , importing from USA. will be here sometime next month.
please put a pic of ur bike before and after mod.Hope it turns out well.
as a bullet is the only thing you will always have the pride upon.
Now can you tell us more about the exhaust and the pillion seat you have ordered. Like their brand, price, benefits and why you chose them. So that we all xbhpians could increase our BQ ( Bullet Quotient )

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 500
I have always admired The Royal Enfield for what it is. And if u ask me about it now, i would rather rephrase it as "i admire the royal enfield for what it was" . I had earned myself a brand new Cl500 couple of years ago. And after 8 months of riding the bike i started facing problems. When inquired with the service center guys the cause of the problem, they just kept on changing the spark plugs and one fine day when i was totally fed up with the bike they announced that there is an engine problem with the bike and it would cost me 15k bucks. I as baffled with the news and till date wonder how can a brand new bike which has just run 12,***kms have engine problem. Company doesn't do anything and nobody else would and why should they. I was me who had made a wrong decision. I was also informed that it wasn't just me but many others with the same problem. And the company just stays mumb. Also in the 8 months of riding i had battery problem, a broken kick while kick starting the bike, and a bent chasis after i hit a car infront of me due to hard breaking and me not able to break properly. Thats the quality of THE Bullet i grew up hearing. Sad experience with Bullet and even more sad with the Royal enfield.
