Re: OIL for RE 500
Its like sort of 'Whistling' sound...not continous, but broken... It is heard at the exhaust though ... But i didnt know the exact reason. Could be like what you have quoted....Originally posted by gyan_recl350 View PostWhat sound exactly? But from whatever I have understood, this sound is from exhaust and it happens because of the cat-con in the bend pipe.

Re: Red Rooster Performance Exhaust
Hello PistonBoy ,
2 days back i have done 3rd service for mine C350 , at service centre i saw RRP silencer. Its simply awesome. I have some doubt ,
- I am a off roader kind of person , i think low height will be a problem for me.....wants to know ur suggestion.
- i checked with service guy about performance , he said performance is good for RRP & he also mentioned air filter needs to be changed . May i know is it mandatory to change air filter or the stock one will work out.
- If i changed to RRP , RE person will have any issue with warranty.
- And last RRP will effect efficiency ??
Thanks ...waiting for your reply

I want to know do we need to tune the carb for other stock and If the bike behaves well post carb conversion.

Re: OIL for RE 500
Not required to change the exhaust for the carb. Well if you wish then you can change and IIRC Prashanth told that the carb doesn't require retuning after changing the exhaust.Originally posted by aquaticbullet View PostHave they used aftermarket exhaust with this kit ?? Feedback was good. No drop in power and performance but improvement in FE, the guy with whom I spoke he was telling he is getting around 32-34 in city.

Re: Red Rooster Performance Exhaust
The exhaust is not sitting all that low, in fact its clearance is same as the stock exhaust(also the tapering muffler prevents it from some scraping which was a problem in stock). However, an important thing to note is that, the brake pedal rod is sitting a lot lower than the exhaust, so if at all you are thinking of off roading, you are gonna scrape the brake rod anyways. I got the brake rod scraped several times while taking turns and corneringOriginally posted by Kamendra Chahar View PostHello PistonBoy ,

Anyways the RRP exhaust won't get scraped, none faced in my soft-offroading experience.
Regarding the air-filter, its not mandatory. Its just that you cannot reap 100% benefits of the exhaust with the stock air filter. RRP is a free flow exhaust and it kinda demands a free flow filter for higher performance gains(at the cost of fuel!). So if you want "some" performance gain, fit the RRP exhaust and if you "some more" performance gain, fit a free flow air filter along with exhaust.
About warranty, I took my DS for its 2nd service and had great experience. The RE guy was impressed, even the classic bullet stereotypes loved the classic thump. 3 of them took the contact details of RRP. It won't void the warranty since its not fiddling with bike's electronics in any way. Don't worry about the warranty: velociraptor13
And regarding the efficiency, I had varied experiences. In stop and go city traffic, the bike did face a marginal drop in efficiency(3-4kmpl). On long rides though, didn't face any drop , actually it marginally improved because its a free flow exhaust. SINCE you are an offroader, you'll definately face a drop in economy 3-4kmpl, not a lot for the performance gain and the amazing sound. With additional free flow air filter, you'll face an overall steep drop ~6-8kmpl in economy... but the gain in performance will be considerably more
