It happens when you start your bike the very first time in a day, where you try to give some choke and some times leave it without pushing/reset it back. The engine gets rich mixture and for the initial revs you might find black smoke from the exhaust, also the throttle feels stutter-y.
A solution could be to keep the bike idle for 30 secs with choke ON for the initial 10-12 secs for the first start. That will set your bike... won't cause any throttle stuttering/black smoke once the engine heats up. Used to happen in my case too
oops! Shri Ram! i thought you have a startup black smoke and throttle problem... ask the RE workshop guys or a good mechanic!Last edited by pistonBOY; 12-31-2014, 12:47 AM.

Thanks man..! I'll give them a call about the remapOriginally posted by BPD View PostBrother, have you checked the ignition coil? Please also check the ignition wire is firmly fixed with the coil. Or, may be you need to re-map the ECU once.

Re: OIL for RE 500
TheArcher84, how was your experience with the shell helix? Please share it
, i am planning to use it after 3k kms.
And today I had a pleasant shock! Sometime ago i said i'll post the 100kph experience on my RRP exhaust fitted DS500. Today morning, I was cruising at 60kph and I luckily found an open patch of road. I went >half the throttle and went past a couple cars and my bike was at 125kph. Bike didnt vibrate at all and it was as if it could do a lot more.
The acceleration from 60-125 was mind boggling. I noticed 125 and i slowed down to 120, because of unpredictable Pune streets. I think the bike can do 140+ since it was very smooth at 125! will have to find out. It seems all my money has gone in the 100kph + experience.
That's awesome bro, post some pice when you get it
.

Glad to note the exhaust is serving you purpose. BTW how much has your bike run?Don\'t you think the after market exhaust would void your warranty?Originally posted by pistonBOY View Post@TheArcher84, how was your experience with the shell helix? Re: OIL for RE 500
Today when i clean my 2013 CL500DS, i found a thin layer oil on the rocker arm bolt. I called up my mechanic and he told me that changing the O ring will stop the leak. I am taking my bike to mech\\\'s garage on Monday. Should i insist on opening the rocker arm fully to inspect the cause of leak or mere change the O\\\'ring as per mechs suggestion.

Re: OIL for RE 500
Hi Shamzir,
I would suggest you to follow the mechanic\\\'s advice and just change the o-ring for now. There are high chances that the ring might have worn out over time.Last edited by Starter71_Kish; 01-25-2015, 03:19 PM.My bond with the oil hearts :
