Re: Burning smell from exhaust in RE C5
50-55 for TBTS 500 is a too low speed for 5th gear. Although bike will pick it up from there, but my submission is best rpm is 2.5k for any gear change. i don't go by speed.Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostYeah...I was getting like 27-29, I used to shift gears at Higher rpm and drive like nuts...stopped doing that...nursing and changing gears at right speed...giving me this mileage

If the problem is while driving in city then it is due to overheating of engine in stop and go traffic.Originally posted by Classic Cruzer View PostHi Friend, How are you all? My bike is not doing well from last few weeks. As have shifted to Ratnagiri and no RE SC nearby its been a great trouble. My bike is a 2013 classic 500 and its missing ignition as if loss of current or like what happens when you are out of petrol. The bike stops in between but it starts immediately when the press the Electric start. The bike runs but this happens frequently. What can be the reason I hope you have understood my problem.
Diagnose done
The battery is good and new Exide.
Always have minimum 2-3 lit of petrol.
Fuses all checked they are OK.
ECU mil light does not blink hence there might be no problem in ECU.
Spark plugs cleaned but not changed from day 1 now covered 11,000 km on odo.
What may be the reason for such frequent loss of ignition or sudden stopping of bike please reply very tensed.

Re: Royal Enfield Classic 500 lossing ignition
I think the most likely reason is faulty wiring, RE wiring is not of good quality so this may not be a surprise. There appears to be a loose contact showing up somewhere in the main circuit which shows up once in a while. get the complete wiring checked up with good quality SVC.Originally posted by Classic Cruzer View PostHi Friend, How are you all? My C5's loss of throttle problem is salved. All your bike needs is right advice, lot of self survey and black grease on your hand.
The reason for loss of throttle was
Water in fuel tank
Little bit of rust in tank and
Major rust accumulation in the fuel pump filter.
Took the risk of opening the tank and removing the fuel pump all by myself and no mechanic around.
It was difficult but I did it. I never added oil or additive in fuel as I am still not shore if it is OK to do so. All the rust from the tank had chocked the fuel pump filter cleaned it with clean petrol flushed with bottle spray along with high pressure air spraying on it which removed the rust.
Cleaned the tank from inside and removed all water and fitted tank and electronic connections refueled with good petrol and now my Baby flies like a butterfly.
Although 1 question arises what should I do to avoid this chocking and rusting of tank from Inside?

I regularly use Motul 5100. A very good semi-synthetic oil and not so expensive too. Its best to do your basic services outside the SVC because you never know who will mishandle your baby.

Re: Burning smell from exhaust in RE C5
well, I bought the awesome classic DS 500 a month ago. Changed the stock exhaust to Red Rooster Performance Exhaust @1500kms. The exhaust looks very good on the DS's matte finish paint job and the best part is its performance boost and the beautiful bass-y exhaust note! The mid-range has improved significantly and the bike doesn't want to give up even at high speeds, which was the problem with stock exhausts. The vibes have gone down a bit, bike feels a quite smoother. Will post some pics soon

Royal Enfield Classic Chrome 500
Hello Fellow Bulleteers, I recently bought my very first Royal Enfield.Clean Chrome finish and a powerful 500 cc efi engine made Classic Chrome 500 deluxe an easy choice to make once I was at the RE Company showroom in Saket, New Delhi. The delivery was quick, 48 hours to be precise and was a contrast to stories of up to 6 months wait for Classic Chrome 500 on biker forums. I was impressed by the knowledge and commitment of RE executives at the showroom but the range of accessories and inflated prices faded the appeal of brilliantly designed premises with retro fittings and tastefully designed interior. Payment was made on Friday and on Sunday I was driving out one of my childhood dreams. It's been 15 days and I have driven my Bullet 920 kilometres, and that's 920 most thrilling kilometres of my life. It rides smoothly, it's heavy duty shockers cushion potholes like clay, it's 499 cc engine delivers torque on demand, the fat tyres grip the road and the signature thump, albeit a bit muted, still commands respect on the road. I have faced no issues except a few false neutrals and a minor oil leak after first service, which was repaired free of charge by my service centre South Delhi Motors. I think they just have produced the perfect Bullet, latest technology in perfect harmony with an age old tradition. As mentioned earlier I have been riding my Bull quite a lot since purchase and I achieved It's first 500 kms within first week. This obviously was a call for the much awaited first service, a predecessor to the opening up the speedometer to 80 kmph from the sluggy pre-first 500 kms, 50 kmph speed.Tomorrow I'm visiting the legendary Nai Kalan in Karl Bagh to accessories my bike - leg guard, fog lamps, new Roots horns and a decent leather saddle is on the menu, let's see how it goes! Mind you that this is my second attempt to accessories my Bull after the first one failed due to low quality and shoddy products delivered by Snapdeal.com. Moral of the story - try going to the local auto market instead of ending up with low quality stuff from online retailers which will only create just another return-refund cycle in your life, one you don't need when you have a Bullet to ride in your spare time!
My rating of the 2014 RE Classic Chrome 500 is ☆☆☆☆☆ for style, ☆☆☆☆☆ for Torque ☆☆☆☆☆ for Speed, ☆☆☆☆☆ for stability and handling, ☆☆☆ for Mileage (28 kmpl at the moment) and ☆☆☆ for low speed handling. I think Mileage will increase to 32 after first 2000 kms, and I'm getting accustomed to balancing the bike through dense Delhi traffic, beyond that RE has delivered me a perfect automobile, swift, agile, powerful and reliable, one can't expect more from a vehicle! A true motor engineering icon and righfully so!Last edited by Citizen Singh; 12-08-2014, 12:35 AM.

I have heard about it and seen the red rooster exhaust. How much it cost? Bangalore it is 8K. Red Rooster Performance Exhaust
I got it ordered from Adventure Shoppe, Coimbatore which I found when I crashed on https://www.facebook.com/Redroosterp...82665101754801 : RRP's facebook page.Originally posted by gyan_recl350 View PostI have heard about it and seen the red rooster exhaust. I paid Rs. 7950(MRP)+ Rs.250(shipping to PUNE).
It was a complete gamble since I neither saw the exhaust in flesh nor heard its sound, before ordering it! Fortunately it paid off
. It is of very good quality: 304 stainless steel, life-time warranty, ceramic wool packing, etc
I will post a good quality video of the exhaust note soon because even I faced many problems finding a good video of RRP equipped RE's sound. For now I would say that it has extremely good bass, and the fun part is when you open the throttle! No misfires too

Re: Red Rooster Performance Exhaust
So if you changed the exhaust didn't you fiddle with the ECU. In my opinion ECU should be re calibrated accordingly. I have burnt my hands by changing the exhaust (Short bottle) as it lead to replacement of cylinder kit hence the paranoia. Please update a video along with some short review.Originally posted by pistonBOY View PostI got it ordered from Adventure Shoppe, Coimbatore which I found when I crashed on https://www.facebook.com/Redroosterp...82665101754801 : RRP's facebook page.
