  • OIL for RE 500

Can I buy these from any Shell bunks ?? And also, we need 3.5 L of Engine oil..right ??
RE has a reputation for getting heated very early so viscous oil should not cause any problem for the big 500cc single cyl mill, during cold starts. Also viscous oils are way better than thinner ones, in overloading, overheating, dusty and hilly terrain conditions. For any motor, if engine heats early, high-viscosity oil should be your pick.

Oil required is 2.7 liters. (manual says 2.75).
I bought it from a local oil/motor spare store.

    • Two Batteries on RE Bullet

      Hello folks!
A bit of a question here - Can one fix two batteries on an Enfield Bullet C500?
I was thinking on the lines of :-
》Two root horns and two fog lamps are eating the main battery. I live them and don't want to remove either.
》 Can one take out the oval utility box and put another battery unit in it(Square) ?
      》 Anyone done similar modifications?

      Peace
      P

It could be a nice DIY Project! you need to change the base mounting of the oval box to fit the Battery box for the 2nd battery-hunt a expert fabricator.
Then connect the two batteries in parallel, so that the 2nd one gets continuous charge. Give your additional connections(Two root horns and two fog lamps) to the 2nd battery and also a second switch(place it near the 2nd Batt box, give it least exposure to natural elements) You might also require some additional fuse apparatus to protect the second fog lamp-horn setup and I think you are done!

I have a problem with my desert storm, my bike responds as if there is no fuel, like it loses power suddenly and regains. I have 7-9 liters of fuel in the tank though.. And black smoke comes of the exhaust with strong petrol smell when this happens. Anyone have any idea what is happening?

Eagerly waiting, It would also be good if you could merge the videos to one instead of posting it individually.

When was the last time you had a long ride ? Get the spark plugs cleaned up and also if possible try changing the petrol bunk and check if issue persists.

Hmm.. My best guess is fuel then.

Just changed both spark plugs, replaced air filter, cleaned the injector at Bosch, cleaned the intake manifold with petrol which very clean now. Checked all the wiring to the sensors. But still.. The problem is there. The vehicle is idleing but I get black smoke and strong petrol smell from the exhaust. Need your views and suggestions. Thanks.
