Now will change back to liquid gun on next oil change.. which is due in next 5ookms. BTW i own a DS500. Hope this helps.
Ok but which oil do the service center guys use Liquid Gun or Motul I think Liquid Gun as I have seen those oil barrels. Then why do they suggest to you use Motul 15W50.
EVen I have used Motul 15w50 now and have observed slight increase in Vibrations. Wonder where in Ratnagiri will I find Liquid Gun now

Motul was the oil used before RE had its own oil. So both are good. My suggestion is to use the oil that you were using all these days.. Liquid gun is manufactured by HP(thats what i've heard) and is available only at RE service centre.

          Hi guys,
Im posting on behalf of a friend. He owns a classic chrome 500. It has completed 2k kms on the odo. 2 days back he changed the silencer to Indore short bottle. After the change, the engine is heating up more than usual. Is it normal? Are there any more changes to be done, after fitting the silencer.

          • Royal Enfield C5 engine oil drain threads slipped

Hi Guys any advice what can be done to repair slipped engine oil primary drain threads. Got my 2013 classic500 serviced from a local mechanic. He slipped the primary drain which I notice later what can be done? Major problems is that as have shifted to Ratnagiri and don't have RE SC, its 135km away at Kolhapur. What can I do to stop leak? Want to solve issue permanently without opening the engine. The drain plug is OK the drain cavity threads have slipped. Please reply

              • Burning smell from exhaust in RE C5

                Hi,
Completed 2400kms On my RE Classic 500(2 Month Old Vehicle). Recently I Find A Burning Smell(Of Plastic Or Rubber Burning Type) And I believe It Is From the exhaust region. I Had Similar Smell On The Delivery Day But It Disappeared After A Few 100kms. Now It Is Back. Anybody Know Why This Happens?

I also find a small rattling sound from the chain(again just believe it is from the chain),only when completely leaving the accelerator. No sounds during accelerating or maintaining the speed but only when leaving the accelerator.

Finally, is it a good idea to change te exhaust at 3k kms? I need a louder thump and just need to know whether an exhaust change now will affect the bike or whether it should be done later on.

Thank you for checking this out!

Finally got the bigboy home - Classic 500 Desertstorm (aka Tusker ), after years of thinking/ unthinking, prioritizing and budgeting.... Cliched but indeed the 500CC rides like a dream! The most fulfilling throttle response from a bike. I have ridden faster bikes but the sense of power this gentleman delivers is something else. Will keep posting on ups and downs I face.

As on date, its the 6th day and I have clocked 620 Kms and 1st servicing (500 Kms) already done. I've been fully respecting the prescribed run-in instructions. The goods things i don't need to reiterate, but speaking of bads...

                  a. I hear TAKK sound the moment the front tire lands in a pit (the sound doesn't come when the tire treads on a breaker, but only when it goes in a depression). The servicing team warded off the problem as a fork being loose problem and tightened the main fork screw (dunno the proper name for the big screw atop the handle bar). Well the problem still persists and I guess will have to visit the service center again

                  b. The front wheel had a CHING CHING sound which increased with the speed. I though its the dick break obliterating the wheel but the mechanic greased the speedo cable and the problem remains solved as of now

                  c. The silencer (stock) has started to give a mild rattling sound on high revs (or so i feel). I am scared it might increase with time! Does it happen like this for others too?

Request the veterans to share their thoughts. Till next time!

The burning smell is from the catcon but if any doubt get it checked and the chain sound is your chain may hr loose adjust the chain at proper tension if chain is loose it also touches the tyre which create the rubber burn smell. So put The bike on center stand and se if your rear tyres right side seems to be rubbed and touching the chain.

I dont know what the first problem is. But the ching ching sound wight be the sound of disc pad abrading the disc sound . this can be sorted out by cleaning the discand disc pad. the third problem might be because of a loose screw near you leg rest on the silencer. The silencer guard screws tend to loosen up due to vibrations and make rattling noise when revved. you can sort this out just by tighting. I put a rubber washer and then tightened up so that it never comes loose. Hope this helps.. cheers..!

                          Hello Everyone,

My friend has been facing some issues with his Classic 500 lately. The bike was sitting around for a year without proper maintenance. When we recently serviced the bike the component in the picture is not working. I believe the below component injects the air and fuel mixture to the engine. Though i am not sure of what it is called but it seems like the Fuel injectors (Please correct me if i am wrong).

Please let me know the following details:-

                          1. What is this part called and what is it's use?
                          2. What is the price of this part?

                          Thanks in advance.

The part you are looking at is indeed the Fuel injector component. Cost for replacing this should be approx. 5k. Since its Keihin, its a bit expensive I guess
