We dont have Kawasaki SVC in indiaOriginally posted by martin_sky77 View Post1. well, you can find them at kawasaki's svc right? or maybe you can ask those who have ninja (where to buy and cost)
Since Bajaj Takes care of it, Bajaj Pro Biking Zone is the place to get Ninja spares
Thats a risk , if you want to keep your bike for looooong time better stick to easy breaking in(run 1k kms nice and slow)Originally posted by martin_sky77 View Postyou CAN switch to any synth oil after breaking in, btw the HARD breaking in method seems has a better results compared the EASY breaking in..site:xbhp.com keyword -> Google this to dig up stuff in xbhp faster

well, do you know mototuneusa? it does make sense..why?Originally posted by kantu View PostThats a risk , if you want to keep your bike for looooong time better stick to easy breaking in(run 1k kms nice and slow)
as he says, the ring's tension alone isn't enough to correctly fit the cylinder walls..
FYI, i'd check my piston last year (about 20,000kms ODO)..and guess what i'd found? there's a lot brown area (mostly burned oil) between EVERY piston rings..next time i'll post a picture of it (if i haven't clean them yet)..
which means the rings DON'T perfectly seal..
last week i'd also check my current piston (different with the stock piston), and there's also some brown area (also because of burned oil) between those rings..i also did the easy break-in method with this piston..(no pics, forgot to take it last time since to busy to do some modifications to it)

here the pic of my piston..
the left one is my RTR piston, see some brown colour (burned oil) between the rings..means the rings don't seal perfectly (far from perfect)..
note that i never touch 4000rpm with these piston during break-in period..
the right pic is my old bike piston, it's my father's bike actually..
my dad never care about break-in period, so he just go drive the bike normally, and didn't care about rpms..means, he didn't do the easy break-in, but the also not do the hard break-in either..but he did mention that he revved the engine high enough and almost redline (10,500 rpm) when he want to pass any vehicles in break-in period..
you can see there's only a slight tiny burned oil under the 2nd ring, also this piston already go over 60,000kms..no wonder if there's a slight burned oil there, but it's a lot better than my RTR piston..
so what do you think? is the easy break-in is the best method? i can't answer this since i need a new bike to prove it..
btw, slight info for the bike that use the right piston..it's a 4stroke 145cc bike which produce about 16HP @10,000rpm + 16Nm @8,500 rpm with the dry weight of the bike about 104kg..also this bike go past and smoke RTR so easily right from the start, even the pulsar 180 UG3 looks so tiny in the RVMs
(just googling honda gl-pro 145 1992, it's old fashioned yet a fast bike)
there's also a fz150 in Indonesia, a street bike with 14hp + 5speed of your r15 named v-ixion..this bike also got pass easily..
maybe you wonder whiches faster, my old bike or cbr150r..
well the answer is the carb version of cbr150r smoked my bike very easily, that's why i'm planning to buy a cbr150r with Fi..

Hey guys, one more update regarding the vibration problem of my bike. It got wet in rain yesterday night for about 15 min. Then i rode it and it was extremely smooth. Extremely low vibes. Does this mean the possibility of an unlubed part? Which one could it be?
@martin sky: thanks.

coz the engine temp drops much due to rain, hence less vibes..Originally posted by pcgamer View PostHey guys, one more update regarding the vibration problem of my bike. Oh. So the hot summer may be the reason for the vibration then. Thanks.Originally posted by venu323 View Postcoz the engine temp drops much due to rain, hence less vibes..
I guess I don't have any option left other than trying a better engine oil...
P.S Can I switch to motul 20W40? Also, can I get that oil changed at the svc if i provide them? Does using a non TVS oil void the warranty?Last edited by pcgamer; 04-22-2012, 04:16 PM.

Thanks. I'll try the motul. Btw, do i need to buy anything other than the oil (like filter) if i plan to get the oil changed at a tvs svc?Originally posted by venu323 View Postthey say using anyother oils while on warrenty period may void it...but how are they gonna find it

If you change the oil at SVC they will only replace the filter, it costs 30Rs. Motul will cost you around 230rs and if you don't find motul try valvoline 20w40, very good oil and costs around the same as motul.Originally posted by pcgamer View PostThanks. I'll try the motul. Saw the new RTR in person just 10 minutes, ago, one word :: UGLY.
Frony is pathetic with those new tank scoops and new front doesnot match the oldis rear of the bike. Now Even prouder owner of the Hyperedge.
Except for bicycles, everything else: i learned to ride it in "Grand Theft Auto"!
