let me put it another way, do the first batch owners get a discount because the r&d wasn't complete yet ? i completely believe in constant improvements but that's after an initial, basic acceptable level of quality is achieved. and in that front the rtr(fi) is lacking in many departments.
one thing that must be said is that the fi had a LOT less problems than the 220 when it was first launched, guess TVS learned a few things from the issues the bajaj bike faced.
new buyers: first try the bike out thoroughly before you buy it, this isn't a purchase you want to rush into. you will probably have a love-hate relationship with this babe. also, this isnt a bike for peaceful cruising, say at 50-60kmph. you WILL notice many things you wouldn't like. but it really shines when its past 80-90, pulling strongly all the way past 120. and you will be too busy grinning under your helmet to notice vibes or tappet noise or wrist pain. now THAT'S character .... ;-)
