    afaik u have to change

    1. Rear mag (aprox 5k)
    2. Disc assy (approx 2k)
    3. Swing arm
    4. Rear set (right side)

all this would easily cost u soo much!

i remember you saying that you mostly ride with a pillion.. i took my mom on the bike.. and she said that the comfort for the pillion in the unicorn is way better..(which is a given i guess)... for the rider its nice.. in the long term it will matter.. also the rtr is not easy on your body because of the riding position but you will enjoy it

            • Bike servicing in Bangalore

Guys, sorry to interrupt the thread. Just wanted to share a experience. I had problems with my RTR FI. Mileage, tappet, initial power. I bought my vehicle a Meghdooth and used to get my bike serviced there. I was never satisfied with the service. I contacted the TVS people through the website and one Mr. Praveen contacted me. He was from the TVS company. He asked me to take my bike to the Meghdooth guys and speak to some chap there. I refused saying Meghdooth was not doing a great job of it and I would try getting my bike serviced at Bharath TVS, Jayanagar. Praveen followed up promptly and voila!! I was treated like a king at Bharath TVS. These guys know what they are doing. Have done a great job.. My bike... I love it.. My ride.. Is more fun.. People from Bangalore, you can contact Mr Praveen at +919741111890. Also, another suggestion, please avoid Meghdooth service. Those chaps do not know the difference between synthtic and semi synthetic engine oils!!

              • ^^ good work!! so has ur mileage improved now? and tappet problem solved?

BTW, i went to susheel service center for the starting problem. he just removed the spark plug and kept it in a plug cleaning machine.. couldnt see the color of the tip though.

Next he took a screw driver and increased the rpm ..
and lo i thought rpm was set through the
ECU connecting it to a computer

The user manual repeatedly says that you should not fiddle with the screw to set the idle rpm. have to always use the computer connected to ecu to set the idle. so what the mechanic has done is not according to the book
i suggest you get that clarified with him.

@chauhan_saurabh - if you have decided on the grey RTR fi, its better you book it at the earliest cos here in blore dealership i got my grey fi from says they are not getting anymore grey FIs. so the waiting may be long.

they had told me the same thing when i bought my Titanium grey (they dont call it mat grey). I do not understand why they take more time, as per me its the best looking color on the bike (so demand should have been higher)

@deepak : nice and congrats.. everyone should start pushing them.. thanks for the number.. i might need it shortly ... do you know the name of the mechanic who handled your bike?

                      • ^^yeah, i was using dunlop monster for about 7k+ kms.. good tyre.. but not that great in wet(better than stock tyres though) I bought it for 990 including fitting charges in Mumbai.
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

Yes, terrodrone you are correct and I did mention this thing. In my case Pillion would be a young one in general, but you had raised a really good point for me and again forced me to re-think. Though I have about a month before I have to make this decision.
So just keeping fingers crossed to see better Uni or CBF150 from Honda before that . That would just tilt me towards Honda.

It may be simple but costly to implement .. I don't want to spend more than 80k on a bike when I'll have to buy a car sooner than later.
