But after first service tappet has start making sound and it increases as engine heats up so wanna know Is it normal or there is a problem with the bike ?
thanks arun, and how much did the tyres cost ? /
... the tappet noise does exist. i spoke to the service centre guys and they told me.. little bit of tappet noise is normal coz the engine is high-speed engine and something related to the valves, tat's the explanation they gave.
not a very convincing explanation, but i found it wasnt affecting the performance tat much. try checking ur 0-60 timing to see if the performance has gone down after a while. if it's around 4.7-5.0 seconds, i'm assuming everything is okay with the engine.

dude,,, I have an apache 150 too. I have still not changed the rear drum brake shoes. It has done 23k Kms and is 2.5yrs old. Why am I saying this? Cos I hardly use the rear with such a effective front disc. If you wanna improve your braking distances, you could probably try fixing the rtr's petal disc, with better rubber for the front and back. That will be fine.

A rear disc is an overkill.

the RTR comes with a loose tappet setting from the co itself (high revving engine)...
the tappet noice increases so much once the engine gets warmed up tht it starts to make ringin kinda noice too....

is the upsize (110/90) causing any problems? with regards to top speed or anything like that?

Whoa, just came after a skidding accident. Instrument cluster's gone, visor gone, fuel tank seriously damaged. But thanks heavens, we (read: me and my RTRFI) are alive.

One thing what I had experienced of having the "First lot" Bike.

Rear tyre was punctured 3 times and only once the tube escaped damage.
Every time, mechanics refused to lay their hands on rear disc brake, and I too also feared of potential damage that a roadside mechanic cud do to it.
The last time it (tyre with tube) punctured at around 8:30 at night and no one to fix puncture in vicinity. I dragged abt 4.5 kms, only to found even petrol station mechanic is refusing to repair. That night, I decided to replace these tyres with tubeless ones. Had some survey, and GR8, I came to know that these stock tyres can be converted into Tubeless ones. Its been a month and a half, the results are good.
                  It can be done if
                  1. The tyre treads are in good condition.
                  2. Alloy wheels are not damaged.
                  3. the tyres' done less than 10K, coz TVS tyres don't have life more than 25K.
                  Yes....

                  I'm still Alive...

my dear i have 100/90/18 not 110/90(110/90 was an option but i did not go with that) and as my bike is still in run in period and the top speed i have touched is 57 km/h so i can't say anything about top speed but pick up has come down but just marginally.

                    • 110/90X18 will reduce the performance a little .. U can go for 100/90X18 , 100/80X18 or 110/80 X18 Zapper Q. But 100/80X18 and 110/80 X18 are very rare.. Which will suits RTR very well as it is lighter than 100/90X18..

Looks nice. I also had considered the same tyre for tubeless option....

                          But this doesn't look a tubeless one . . . .
