He got the suspension out and removed the spring from within and did some stuff to it,hammered the rod inside etc, he did it for both left & right suspension.I was kinna surprised a new bike would need such work but after it was done, the sound was gone! Plus I feel that the front shocks are more smoother now. Was in a hurry so didn't get to ask him if it was a common problem but the way he knew what was wrong with it leads me to think it is. He was saying something about the piston getting a bit hard in the shocks. Is this a common problem? Does this mean that if the shockers are opened up, they lose their life soon or are defective?

It was not the handle as I mentioned, it was something to do with the suspension.I wanted to know if anyone else faced this issue? After he worked on it I felt the front suspension to be a lot more smoother than before.

@julianpaul do you hear the thud over small undulations on the road? As if something in the fairing is loose? How old is your bike?

so i wont mind the little noice bro....
Well, any open O-Ring chain is such - catches dirt and can get noisy. Moreover, R15's chain is a full chain without a link. So, unless the size is an exact match you cannot fit it into another bike.

R15's chain is a very heavy duty O-Ring chain from DID. In the cost of this one chain you can buy three Chain-Sprocket sets of RTR. So, just don't mind all this thought. TVS gives good quality spares. BTW, I giess the O-Ring chain kit (for Refresh & FI) costs more... may be about Rs 1100.

If you really want to maintain the chain properly, clean it with Kerosine every 500-800 KMs and apply Adhesive Chain Lube (like OKS, Motul, Wurth, etc). If you want to avoid the Kerosine trouble then pls get a De-greaser as well. They cost Rs 325 each and upwards.

Else, get SAE 90 grade oil, clean the chain with kerosine and apply the oil. May be no better means...

over 80% of WD40 is made up of petroleum products that harm the O-Ring seals and it is not suggested for applying on an o-ring chain.

sae 90 gear oil / sae 40 oil / engine oil ??which is best ?
SAE 90 (for street bikes & cruisers), SAE 140 (for super sports)...

When the fork oil is replaced you will definitely find some improvement... but that didn't solve the actual problem for you... did it?

Why would the fork oil be changed on a bike that has done just 800kms ??

oh!... kick me for that... I mixed up your query with another one from a few hours before

He'd have loosened the forks a bit. they might have been too tight!

Navin, ride it again and see... check the riding position, your knees, wrists, foot... how they feel if you drive for 15-20 minutes... that can at least give you an indication.

Hunk is among the most comfy bikes in its class...

mix both the above and you can look out for GS150R too...

                      • choose ur colour man... that's a pure personal preference... if unable to decide among bright colors, choose a subtle colour.

Is it the first time you are changing clutch plates? if yes, they served you well. So is the chain & sprocket.

BTW, clutch plates @ Rs 1000??? are you changing the metal friction plates as well?? Those for Karizma cost abt Rs 1400 and for R15 too including friction plates costs about the same. As far as I remember RTR's clutch plates cost less than Rs 400.

Primary gear... why this needs a change? though not very digestable, I can understand why the sprocket bearing needs a change... it took a lot of abuse.

                          -------

                          PS: Sarvajit, R15's chain costs ~RS 2100 (DID O-Ring). The sprockets cost ~Rs 700.

Anna tht is called a traffic jam(atleast for me).....bumper to bumper traffic and its ur bike too....quiet hard to ride after getting used to RTR.

I guess the entire clutch is gone for a toss. 1000rs is wat the supervisor told me. i have'nt enquired abt it in other showrooms.
I really dont understand wat primary gear is anna. all he said it needs a change and he changed it.

Better option. get a normal RTR chain kit and fit a complete chain cover.

                          • ^^^ so, you have an almost new bike at the end of warranty term.. .now use it softly without much thrashing and enjoy the bike for a long time.

BTW, get your compression checked... I am wondering how come the engine oil went bad so soon. is everything all right - the valves (your tappets were very loose!), the piston rings... I'm guessing that the combustion gasses from the head are leaking into the crank case...
