  • ^^Frankly it was a no-brainer decision. Out of the R15 and RTR, I can vouch that the RTR is much more suited for riding on terrains. And I thought, if anything goes wrong it has to happen on the 220 as well as both run the same Fi systems. So just did it!

Tires - The R15 front and an MRF Zapper rear - the stock tire that cmes as rear on the ZMA, HUNK etc. Dont remember the nomenclature and stuff!

If it were using the the original 13T, it might have been better. But what the heck, on the highways I was comfortably cruising at 110 - 120 all along!

Just for the record, the 220 consumed some 200 - 250 ml of oil!

            • Guys, was riding on a flyover in Delhi. My handlebar is bent, but not so badly, so I took my hands off at around 60 to adjust my helmet. Suddenly, the front end of the bike (front forks + speedo console + dome + handlebar + front tyre) began shaking violently! This happened for 2 secs. then I caught the reins and took control again, and everything was normal.

Is this because of a bent handlebar, or does it indicate suspension issues?

Have you ever crashed your bike ? If yes then it may be due to bent forks and handlebars .
Check again by riding on some straight road at around 50kmph and leave the handlebars and see if bike goes straight or goes to rightwards or left .

definitely not just because of a bent handle. most probably either the upper or lower or both the triple-clamps (t-stem/plate) are bent, could also be the fork or the swingarm/bushings. also check that the tyres are fit properly in the rims. heck, my rd used to fishtail above 110 due to incorrect tyre pressure!

                      • Hello friends.
My FI after 50 days of ownership has undergone second free service 4 days before with an odo reading of 2.8 k kms.
This time filled the bike with castrol power 1 synthetic oil. The vibrations has gone down comparatively.

Before the second service, the fuel efficiency i got was 40 & 43. After the service i checked the efficiency again and now its giving me 50.56 kmpl for power or speed petrol.

Two complaints i had with the bike, when i gave for servicing.
                        1) Medium loud sound from rear disk break ( very low squeel noise come even when there is no braking)
                        2) 0-60 drag timer is not working.

The brake sound was cleared and the timer complaint was left neglected. Silly service guys !
                        Also got the bike polished.

After abt 1.5 months of ownership, am now really satisfied with the bike.

                          • I have a 07 RTR 160.

I am facing a really weird issue of late. The bike seems to stutter in windy conditions. Like in low fuel scenarios. I ignored this problem
for a while, but on a recent trip to Amb Valley, the bike would just stutter and die once the RPM fell below 4K,especially while ascending.
Through all the gears. I was riding in the rain for a lot of time on this trip.

Any ideas what the problem could be? I would have thought it was the carb and the rains mixing. But that doesnt explain why I face this problem
                            in windy conditions.

Ashutosh, I had a similar problem recently.

Well, I read your trip log about that "Ride to the Unknown" and I think you should make sure first that your tyres are in good condition and aligned properly considering the road and weather conditions you faced.

After that, ask a good mechanic to look at the transmission and clutch. If your bike is stuttering and shutting off below 4000 RPM, it sounds to me as though you are having problems in one of the two areas. I can't pinpoint the exact problem, but I'm sure your regular technician can.

Thanks. I have of course verified alignment and tyre conditions. They are fine.
I have been experiencing this problem from quite some time back. Around when I did the Bangalore trip.
