    according to them
    my clutch plates
    brake shoes [rear]
    drum lubbees or bubbles
    were gone ?
my bike has run 14k km ..is this normal or am i being cheated ?
i went to that CBZ for the 1st time ?
if cheated ill show them the consequences of cheating on me
Rs 931 scan the bill here lets see what have they charged you for!

For clutch plates, it depends on your riding style, so if you feel drop in power/mileage(in your normal riding style) it time to change the plates. 14K km is too less IMO. For brake shoes change the shoes if they are about to be worn out(I think they might have told you this as a part of preventive maintainence). I hope you went there with someone's reference.

My bike is yet to see change of 1st set of clutch plates, running fine at 32K kms.

brake shoes and drum rubbers are right....u have'nt changed them till now. But i doubt if ur clutch plates are fried. Do you find the gears to hard? feel and loss of power while accelerating just after shifting gears?

if so then time to change it else screw the CBZ guys I got mine changed at 27k kms.

      @haxor

The outer tube is 950rs i guess!

u might feel improvement in braking after changing to brake shoes(but it needs to runin for a few kms before it gives out its optimum performance). And abt your clutch thingy i think that was abt 3-4 months ago....it might have suffered some damage due to burnouts and other stuffs you do

better take a second oppinion. but if u dont feel any diff then y bother abt it?

it is clearly specified in the manual that 1.1 liter oil is needed if the whole engine is opened otherwise for the oil change you have to fill 1 litre only....

the simple method to check weather ur plates are gone or not-

pull the bike for about 9000 in second gear engage 3 and open the throttle immediately if the bike revs and moves forward after takin a second or so....ur plates are fried...

BTW 275 is damn cheap for plates...my FIERO plates used to cost me 1750..

I think that Rs 275 is the labour charges for opening the clutch casing, when they opened the clutch casing did they show you the burned out clutch plates. If you have been stunting, then IMO its time to change clutch.

If he has opened the clutch casing the oil level to be filled is 1.1 lts as the extra oil which remains in normal draining is removed when the clutch cover in removed.

@renny: The clutch presssure plates combo still cost ~1 k, I wonder what will they put if it costs Rs 275

I had already described earlier here about the decarb job of my 14000km old RTR and the after effects of the same. The plug was very black and with oily sticky shots. Visited SC for about 10 times, no solution. Two days back shoot a mail to TVS officials in Kolkata & the plant. They called me on the same day and requested me to bring my bike on Tuesday (04.08.09) at the SC.

Yesterday they send one person from the zonal office, and in his observation the job was carried, I was also present at the time of the job, and after checking all the electrical systems related to ignition they finally again open the head and found some kind of crack in the inlet valve steam area. They replaced the whole head block along with the top cap and a set of new valves.

Bike is doing ok afterwards and till time no sign of carbon deposition in the plug. Hope this will end here.

I am very much impressed by the service of TVS team, and the attention they provide to the customers. Area service in charge of Kolkata personally call me and assure me that if any other problem arrive in future they will again address it properly.

Hats off to TVS Service team.

That 1750 is for whole clutch assembly. and 275 is for only clutch plates.
