My RTR Fi had no issues during my long ride. For a quick upgrade, I will suggest that u remove the pilots, number plate bulbs and fix a 55/60 as headlamp. I did this for my Leh trip. No issues except that all the power from coil wud be used for the bulb and the battery wud be a bit weak after prolonged riding(4 - 5 hours). It will charge at day running though. With the amazing reflectors on the RTR u will love it.

Have a safe and great trip. Enjoy!

Ohh then its nice, coz the roads on which you would be traveling are good throughout..I was thinking that you would take the pune-tamhini-mangaon-konkan route..which is BAD throughout

          Enjoy ur ride..

            • There's one jugaad, but don't know its effects in the long run.

You can connect a switch parallel to 'Pass' switch. As the headlight runs on AC and PASS runs on DC, running headlight in low beam and simultaneously switching 'ON' PASS would make both filaments glow simultaneously. I do this just by pressing pass switch for a long time. But in your case (really long time), you should put seperate switch.

I hope it doesn't harm ground wire (Black one)

swap the bulb with halonix or philps blue/white light one, great for you but hell for on coming riders, make sure you switch to low beam, when on coming traffic is there.

6500 and above RPM makes it butter smooth and your speed will be above 80, but still till 5000RPM you it's smooth and gives you 65-67kmph...

                  • @Technocrat: Best of luck for you upcoming ride. Have a safe ride mate.

My 2008 RTR fuel economy goes down dbd, and plug is real black with dry carbon shots, (like the first pic). Talked to SC but no use, they tune the bike according the Co machine, but the problem persists. Last time they replaced the block piston to solve this, but who cares, carbon deposition continues, Gave almost 35 kmpl regularly, with normal city riding. I also try different pumps thinking the fuel is culprit, but same continues. Its only 4000 km done after piston & head replacement, and again it started its old sign.

What should I do now? Any help regarding that.
Did any of you saw your plug (RTR Carb) like the second pic? (Fi owners I know you already have a clean plug)

Yup !! mine is just fine(touch wood). Most of the RTRs have deformed rear muguards. But if not like mine then something else will be. Like front fairing on my RTR.

                        • Help me Plzzz

                          @Renny, Satish & all

Help me out guyz. My bike now feels no more RTR. Slow, harsh and all bad names are applied which are thinkable. Tell me guyz what can be the reason that your bike are doing 126-128 and mine doing 109 after a full throttle on a long strech. Now I am going mad

Tell me what can be the reason behind this. ? ?

Both my wheels are moving freely, I am lubing and cleaning my chain periodically, serviving is done on or before time. I was once able to reach 118 which is still saved in the top speed logger. Runin was done quite sanely but with long rides of 100 kms.

Mileage I am getting is around 46-47 and I think its too not something biblical. But tell me the diagnostics which I can try because 20kmph is a whole lot of difference in same type of machines.

Get the chain checked and adjusted carb and Air filter cleaned in front of yourself then see the results.

I think your the bike is suffering from compression loss, after few minutes of riding when the bike comes upto working temoerature just decrease the idling to 1000 rpm if the bike stalls then you need to change the piston rings no major problem.
Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

Mine is near to second image. Get the compression pressure checked. If its within limits, ignition system is culprit. Get the carb disassembled & cleaned under water pressure and then by air pressure.
There's lot to it other than saddle....

But how come the rings are fried within 4000 km, after the engine rebuild under warranty, they replaced everything from head, valves, piston with gudgeon pin & the block. After that for the first 2000km I have again maintain the run-in. How come man?

And regarding the ignition system how to ensure that everything is OK?

BTW did you replace the jets of 180 and what is the result?
