Another thing.. are the tubeless tires on the rtr 180 of the same compound as the 160? i am thinking of changing to tubeless tires after facing 6 punctures and 2 tube replacements. and i am a little wary of changing the tire size as i dont know the effect it will have on the handling of the bike..

I noticed a problem with my rtr a few weeks ago and it is persisting since. Under moderate and normal braking (front disc), the brake grips the disc, then releases and grips it again. this goes on till the bike stops. Its like ABS in extreme slow motion. This gives a bouncy effect to my front wheel. Has anyone else faced this problem?

I have this brand called Bosny, their no. 39 black. It's not very glossy but its nowhere near matte. Can you give more details on the exact paint you have.Originally posted by nox2505 View PostI use matt finish black paint. spray Can costs 180/- here in mumbai. Its called acrylic laquor. Finish is ditto as wheels, swing arms and accesories.
The clutch should only be used when changing gear, when moving from standstill about till the bike is fast enough so you can lift your feet off the ground, and just before you come to a complete stop (note i didn't say slowing down). Any other use of the clutch is incorrect riding technique. I don't want to sound bossy, but you need to learn to ride buddy.Originally posted by venkatesh_B View Posti have been used to the half clutch system till date and my hands starts aching after some 5 kms.
The 211 might wear out the paint a bit if you rub too hard, it's good for roughening the surface, but the 401 will NOT remove paint however much you try. It has a kind of rubbery finish almost. Dunno how to explain. Buy a sheet and see. It will do the job.Originally posted by rennycornelius View PostWill get 401 Q sandpaper then, i think it will serve my purpoes alone.
but will it take out the paint a bit? or it's just too fine?
Your disc is probably warped and out of true. If so you will need to replace it. The manual specifies a face out of 0.1mm so there isn't much margin.Originally posted by junaidwangde View PostI noticed a problem with my rtr a few weeks ago and it is persisting since. You wont be able to use the 180's rear tyre because it's a 17" while the 160s use an 18" rear. The width difference is the least of your concerns.Last edited by julianpaul; 06-06-2010, 02:14 AM.

This Half clutch phenomenon will shorten your clutch life and moreover the bike will deliver low mileage.Correct me if I am Wrong!Originally posted by venkatesh_B View Postevery time i have to pull the clutch lever completely for a gear shift. thats why. but this is not the big prob now. the biggest is the neutral light prob. guys pls help out

Any other ideas than this?Yeah, Com Paint cans are good. I once painted my old Esteem's spoiler completely with it!Originally posted by rennycornelius View Post"Com- Paint" cans are also good.
As for your dulling requirement, use the white colored 3M soft rubbing compound, or if you wanna dull it more, then use paint cutters meant for cars, you can get them at any automobile shop.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

I have yet to find a spray paint that gives a REAL matte finish like powder coating. In fact our stock grey rtr finish is even more matte than powder coating. I'll check out com paints and the kobe one that nox mentioned.Originally posted by rennycornelius View Post"Com- Paint" cans are also good.
cool!Originally posted by rennycornelius View PostI bought a sheet of 401 sandpaper as JULIAN suggested and it served my purpoes.

There is a neutral sensor switch in the crancakse. Have it checked. Could also be a wiring fault anywhere in the circuit from the switch to the light. Check that too. The indicator light could also be faulty. check that too. LOL. I feel funny after what i just posted.Originally posted by venkatesh_B View Postsometimes neutral light doesn't glow even if the gear is in neutral.Last edited by julianpaul; 06-07-2010, 04:26 PM.
