Bugger! What an excuse . I was getting around 53kmpl for the past 15k kms. Now its dropped to 47kmpl. Pickup has dropped to. Need to get it checked. Mine is 98% city riding speeds between 53-65 kmph. Ripped my bike to 11k rpm this morning after really long time. Its was hell fun

      • Hi REVS nd MILEAGE......what u guys are upto

Guys guys guys...........everyone here talks about the pickup and power of mighty muscular RTR so how come this mileage came in play........well when it comes to power i feel that forget about the mileage. Well of course a 40/litr or so is a descent mileage for RTR series it can come a bit less in case of 180.

Of course if you ride carefully say a speed of 50-55 then u can get easily a mileage of 45 i have taken 44 best from my 180 black beast the company claims 47/litre now what else you expect, but cant ride this machine at such a low speed

            • Since you mentioned bike cleaning , what do you use to lubricate after washing ? and what parts need lubrication ? For now after wash i use that TVS engine oil(which had run for 300KM) on side stands, some moving parts near brake pedals and gear lever (should apply grease here i think ) anything else needs lubrication and in SC i see that they use a spray for everything ( i mean to lubricate all those parts mentioned, switches and chain oil spray too) is it worth it to buy one of those ? or enough to apply grease ?

The play was not there before the front brake pads change at TVS SVC. Earlier it was perfect. And i think just to change the brake pads there is no need to open the brake fluid cylinder so air creeping in have very less chance.
By any chance can there be any issue with the whole braking system or its just a minor issue?

To change the brake pads, the piston need to be retracted. For this, one way is to press them in slowly with force (trust me, its work of a Mr. Khali) or just to open bleeder and push them in with finger. SVC fellas take method two. and after this its must to bleed out air which mostly creeps in.

                          • Low Mileage and low pickup and low top speed

                            Hi Guys,
I have an Apache RTR FI which is 2 years old and have done 11500 kms.
I used to get around 48 km/pl and my top speed was 105 at around 9000+rpm.
But recently my bike is giving only 36-40km/pl and i cannot rev more than 8000 rpm and the max speed achievable is only 80 km/hr.

Also during the peak revs with full throttle i.e here at 8000 rpm the engine tends to jerk is this due to the FI problem ? Please help me.

I love my bike very much but recently in the past few months i feel like this is not my bike . Please suggest me any good service center in bangalore for my bike .
                            Thanks in advance.

even i went nuts when it gave that much figure... but as i mentioned earlier in it, 60% highway riding and as I just finished only first service, i didnt rip the bike above 5k rpm with less gear change...so maybe that too must have helped me out...anyway i dont know...this time again i'm going to check again bt i'm sure it wont come like before because now its 100% city riding...

I think its time to do a full service...FI is better than carb version and if its giving such disappointed figures there is definitely some issue...change the oil and filter....
