My bike has gone in for a delayed 8th service...

Put it on the roller bench to get a before and after topspeed check...currently its doing 126 on that, just before I delivery I managed that speed on the road too. Now eagerly waiting for the service to complete, with a few new parts I'm sure after 20K kms I will finally see my bike hit the 135+ mark! []

But this thread has lost a lot of information....its up to the old timers+regulars of this thread to keep this as informative as possible!

what will you guys do who have their bike's(200 and 220cc) brought in small dealership's in outer town's? means no probiking service etc?
I have a doubt since many 220cc pulsar's flews through my town.but no probiking service at all.for nearest service ,we have to go 43kms for cochin.

Does the service guys in small shops able to service(new bike's free service) properly?

Ajinkya, recently I have also noticed my bike turning off when in a turning or when I brake suddenly (not always.... but 4/10 times)...... and a bit of misfire..... does this mean my ECU is kaput ?? What all other issues you faced before they concluded it as a ECU replacement symptom/condition??

Chetan, if you could just check whether the sensor cable(just below the speedo console) is loose or not....coz this same problem i had also faced...then on identifying it was found that this wire was loose...!! So, it may solve the problem at your bike as well..!!

                    Just Did it..

The Review would come after the odo crosses 15,000 Kms (right now its showing something around 13,000 kms)

though the question wasnt for me, I suggest you go to the service station and check if the bike idles properly while checking for the CO. Actually, its while doing this, I realised it might be a problem with the ECU. Because the bike would idle in normal conditions sometimes, and sputter sometimes. While in traffic, after pressing the clutch it would sputter out. It was acting very unusual. This was the same time in conjunction with me changing the spark plugs. First, I surely thought the plugs. But even with the old plugs, I was getting random sparking problems. Again went back to the station, changed the ECU, and everything was back to normal. And the CO too was set to 2.2.

A Detailed Report on Pulsar 220

This Thread was posted back in March 2007 when P220 was very new & there were hardly any online reviews

                        ==================================================

I had a chance to ride with a P220 to Lavasa last saturday.

This is a review of the P220 based on my experience with it. I have compared it with ZMA wherever felt necessary.

To know the details of bike & rider check out this thread

P220, ZMA, Unicorn's Early Morning Ride to Lavasa(Lots of Pics)

                        OverviewThe Riding experienceRiding ComfortHandlingBraking

Full marks here no comments it simply rules here Excellent breaking supported by a wide profile rear as well as front tire(Yes the front tire is broader too )

                        Headlights

10 out of 10 or may be 11 out of 10. The lights everywhere including the headlights are superb. Let it be tail lamps or the LCD or the backlit switches

                        Drag Results

Frankly speaking the drags which we had were very amateurish & should be taken only as indicative & not as a proof because:

                        - The bikes had diff mileage on odo
                        - The drag was done on a strip which was barely 100-200 mtrs
                        - We had no timing device. And a few launches were not synchronized properly
                        - My ZMA is stock but has heavier & broader rear tire.

Result 1: P220 VS My ZMA

                        P220 won on 2 runs

Result 2:ConclusionQ1: Is the P220 worth buying its price?
A1: Yes the P220 is a very good piece of machinery.

Q2: Is it better than ZMA?
A2: This is still debatable, while the engine is more powerful & has more torque than the ZMA, it still has niggling issues like poor RVMs & vibrations at higher revs which the ZMA lacks, Also the handling though very good is marred by the stupid stand which I believe can be fixed.
At the end one has to decide his priorities & go for it

Q3: Should I trade my ZMA for the P220
A3: Unless you want to go for all the gadgetry & that extra power NO. Remember the slightly mudded zap beat it in the unofficial drag

Phew that was one long write up

Here is a few comments which I had posted when I had my first brush with the 220. First Impressions

Here are a few high res pics of P220 & ZMA

I hope you guys enjoyed this report Also ask me if I have missed out on any stuff .

all the display on the meter are gone, no lights...like battery is dead or something...
i don't know whats the problem...i tried checking for any loose wire or the fuse but all seems fine...although i may have missed the loose wire
