  • Re: Stuck clutch in Dream Yuga...

    Hey guys,
I am planning to buy this bike so I went through few reviews and got to know about gear shifting problem.
Just wanted to ask it something to be concerned about?
    Will it cause any problem?
As this will be my first bike so just wanted to check that nothing goes wrong after getting the bike.

Dream Yuga is a good bike, comes with Honda's trade mark utter smooth reliable engine, the problem starts when one visit the Asc, not everybike is having shift problems, just take good care of the during run in period, go for good quality oil other than Honda oils. You can also go for Passion xpro, has got the same Honda's engine used in dream yuga with slightly different tune, and the Asc of Hero is better than that of Honda's.

Sorry typo mistake, both of them Twister and Yuga has infact same engine, the latter one is slightly tuned towards more mileage, twister produces 9bhp of power and 8.9nm of torque, bike is good has better exhaust note, although the pillion seat is high, plus that open chain which wears faster as the chain is open to attract all kind of elements. If you like the bike then you can go for it without any doubt.

Have you ever owned a twister or ridden it?
I really want to make sure that the gear shifting problem will not cause trouble to me.
As I'm completely newbie,it will be a pain for me If it turns out to be a major issue.

Riding and maintaining bike is my passion, yes i have ridden twister and infact owner of the vehicle ( who is my friend) was complaining about this same gear issue, i rode the vehicle and it was as smooth as an Honda bike should be, even my friend was quite amused that i was having no such problem, most of the times my friend problem lies in your riding habit and not in the vehicle, yeah sometimes there can also be a fault in the vehicle, but that's not in our hand. I can understand as you are a newbie you will have goosebumps but man every vehicle has got some ups and downs, some brands have more flaws some have less, honda has also got some flaws in there vehicle but that dosen’t mean that there products are that inferior,so i would suggest you to take a test ride of the vehicle and see for yourself.

Of course you can't get a vehicle that is completely flawless.I was just checking so that everything goes fine.
It will be my first bike so am little excited about it.
Thanks a lot for the help.I'll surely be getting a TD before buying the bike .
Any other bike you suggest in 125 CC Segment?
I am also thinking of taking TD of Stunner.

Personally i don't like stunner, reason, looks fools you as of a sports bike , raised pillion seat, half front fairing, and that small 125cc engine, till 60km/h bike is ok but after that the engine starts to tell you that hey guy iam a commuter segment bike not a sports bike so be gentle on me, same is the case with shine has got same engine with one less gear, till 60 bike is fine after that same problem, although the engines are smooth, gears are delightingly smooth but you have to be in the limit of the engine and if you can do that bike will keep serving you, near to my house there is a guy who has got the first version of shine with spoke wheels, he has already covered over 1lakh kms and the engine is pretty much like new, answer being if you are only looking bikes from the Honda and 125cc segment than suggestion is go for shine, or if you can stretch your budget then take a look at unicorn also, though the bike is not seen on the roads but still once you ride unicorn than you might not consider shine and twister.

Thanks for your suggestion but I don't think my dad will agree for Unicorn.
And its not like I am looking for honda, any brand will do.
All I am looking for,is a bike with decent look, mileage and is comfortable enough for long run.
I just don't want a bike which is high on maintenance.

Now here comes the tricky part when you gets open to all brands of motorcycles, get’s quite confusing as there are no. of products in the market from different players let's start with bajaj and there discover 125t as st is no more available, nice bike with a 4valve motor 5 speed gearbox and traditional cheap bajaj spare parts, bike is good though ,gets rough on higher rpm ,no doubt bajaj has come long way in reliability but still they have to cover long distance to catch yamaha and honda in terms of smoothness and engine reliability, you can take a look at this vehicle, next i will consider Yamaha ss125 another brilliant product from yamaha again a 5speeder, smooth engine, vast service network, spares are bit costlier but in terms of quality way above the competition, plus according to survey Yamaha makes most reliable bikes, drawbacks pillion seat is bit high and open chain.

Another 125cc product comes from Tvs phoenix, recently rode this bike and i was very much pleased the way bike performed, max speed i touched was 80km/h even though the bike was faily new,the engine was very smooth, handled well, seating position was quite relaxed, pillion seat is not too high so that’s another good sign for a product, returned the mileage of 63km/l.

Shine is also a good product but i have already mentioned it, i will not consider Hero motocorp’s glamour as i don’t like the vehicle plus the bike is not too successful also, you can go for Passion or xpro from hero stables.
So in the end if you want a good vehicle with longterm reliability, decent mileage, and relaxed position you should look out for shine, the only drawback with this product is poor ASC of Honda, but if you can manage this service part or can find a decent mechanic than i don’t think you should be looking anywhere else.

You have made it easy for me.
I'll be doing a TD of Shine,Twister and may be Yamaha SS125 too, before coming to final conclusion
                        Thanks Again.

That's the way to go man, after taking TD just report how did you felt with the vehicle and ofcourse your final decision, and do take test ride of SS125 before making any decision.

                          • Heavy rain and Starting issue

Rode in heavy rain today for half an hour or so. The last few KM bike started jerking, the accelerator does not respond as usual but pulls suddenly with a jolt.
When i stop at a light it failed to start, Cranking with choke it started but same issue after turning off choke its fail to idle, with a twist on gas i manage to reach at home. i will check this again in the morning.
I guess its water somewhere causing this issue. any direction whats behind this...

Check your air filter side seems that water vapours are being sucked by the engine through filter side.

Hum turn out to be a self start switch issue, took few min to clean the rusted terminals and its good to go. Btw before that i checked spark plug and air filter assembly found nothing unusual. And the ASS Mechanics wanted a full fuel line cleaning even before looking at the bike ( Good thing i took it my trusted mechanic.
