I had a Yamaha FZ-16. It was turning out to be a really bad purchase especially after marriage. The pillion seat was too narrow, the mileage was pathetic and the rear mud guard was useless during the rains.

I needed an everyday commuter bike that I could use to go to office and back home covering a distance of about 30kms daily. Mileage was definitely a factor and power not so much. I was contemplating between the Twister and the P135 but finally settled for the Twister considering that its a Honda.

I booked the bike on Saturday, May 8th and got delivery on Monday, May 10th. My initial impressions are as follows:

    Positives:
    1. Lightweight, great maneuverability
    2. Butter smooth engine (A Honda trademark I guess)
    3. Supposedly great FE (not tested yet)
    4. Best looking in its category by far
    5. Much better suspension than the FZ
    6. Comfortable seating (rider and pillion)
    7. Very smooth fuel knob (main - off - reserve knob)
    8. Tubeless tires
    9. Good amount of torque, makes no difference even if a pillion is sitting behind
    10. Very nice rear-view mirrors (compared to the FZ. With the FZ, the coverage area of the mirrors was very small)
    11. Sounds great (for me at least)

    Negatives:
    1. No tacho
    2. Instrument console is all analog
    3. No DC setup for the headlight
    4. Changing gears is a little rough, although this might become smoother after running in
    5. Disk brake is not as good as the FZ but for just 110cc I guess its sufficient.
    6. Rear tire is a bit puny and also doesn't have a central groove. Need to see how it performs in the rain.

I still have to get used to having just 4 gears. I keep looking for a 5th gear. I feel the self starter of the Twister is much better than the FZ. With the FZ, I had to give a bit of throttle while starting the bike. With the Twister, the bike starts just at the push of the button. Overall, I dont really miss the FZ as much as I thought that I would.

A word about Honda service...The chain on the bike was too tight when they delivered it to me. Had to get it loosened at the service station last morning. They should have done all these checks before delivery itself. Also, the bike itself was a bit dirty. There was a layer of dust on the rear panels. Small issues but it decreases the overall satisfaction. Anyways, hope my visits to the service station are infrequent.

And finally, here are the pics. Excuse the dirt as there was a bit of rain on my way back home last night.

Both my wife and I felt that the suspension of the Twister was better. Its all subjective I guess

Update - As of now the bike returns 49 KM/L. This is with around 300KM on the odo and before the first service. Is this normal? Seems pretty low to me. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like there are any other Twister owners on this forum

            Bro,
My GS150 gives 46-48 on insane driving in city... and 50+ on highway... The figures above are low for a 110cc.. You've got to check it with the SC..

                Rear Suspension

Guys! one of my friend owns a Twister and he faced lots of issues with his rear suspension just one week after he bought the bike, later it was found that there was a oil leakage from rear shocks when he took it to the service center, he enquired the issue with few more twister owners and they also had similar expereinces.

Although the shocks were replaced under warranty, i would request you to keep a proper check on your bike as well.

It wasoil seal leakage which eventually was causing his rides to be bumpy and the same issue was there with few other riders as well (although they did not face the oil seal leakage), just check with other guys at the SC. I hope it is just a one off case.

I own a Twister. I only measured it once - 58Km/L. And I ride it below 50 always, though I am guilty of riding between 20-30 most of the time.

HELLSFURY: How does your wife find the suspension as a pillion rider? One of the twister reviews (google frugal flyers) commended the Twister for outstanding pillion comfort.

To other Twister owners: I have had no oil leaking from rear shocks. My problem is that the gears keep slipping after I change them - this after using full clutch per the service technician's recco. Otherwise, the bike is good. At 50, there are no vibes, I almost fell asleep once!!
Has anyone else faced problems with the gearbox?

Looks like the Twister has not become popular after all.
