Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF
Hi Frds, How ar you all ??
these days quite busy in office works...
Few things I want to share...
1) I am very much satisfied with this bike.
2) Being 6.5" tall and weight around 90kgs.. Never felt any problem...
3) My Journey is from Home (Delhi) to Office (Gurgaon)
4) Never faced any problem , as my bike is already 7th month old, and completes only 3900km.
5) Mileage is at 50 (Na + Na -)
Few changes I made..
1) Changed the rear tyre with Ceat vertigo Tubeless
2) Seats are too stiff i must say, i Put some cushion, but still feels nub below hips area after driving her abt 1 hrs in delhi traffic..
SOMETIME feels this bike loose all his power after reaching 60 mark, may be due to short gear ratio, will change its sprocket to Unicorn one in future, but again I like its pickup.. so may be i will not change it...
Now a question i want to ask that ... I will not going to Honda service center frm hereon, Can i switch to Full synthetic oil now, If YEs.. please suggest a good oil along with its specification.(Any drwaback of using fully synthetic oil in future).
Also please suggest how to clean its change.. i read somewhere i can do that with Kerosene oil, but what abt lubrication? also it there cheap and reliable chain cleaner? do I required lubrication after that also.
Please suggest..
Thanks.

Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF
make sure that whenever you install a change in your bike it should be the complete sprocket+chain set, because an already running sprocket and chain develop wear mutually and therefore a new one with no wear may either get affected or may affect the already running component of the set.Originally posted by jammbuster View Postwill change its sprocket to Unicorn one in future
Frankly and thoughtfully speaking "No". But Why ?Originally posted by jammbuster View PostCan i switch to Full synthetic oil now, If YEs.. please suggest a good oil along with its specification.(Any drwaback of using fully synthetic oil in future).

You see the Fully synthetic oil is any day a better oil for high temp and high rpm engines which run for longer hours under stress (ex: track races). But in our case, with the happy 125 cc powerplant the purpose is well below these. We can still use the fully synthetic and it will not cause any issue and may improve the smoothness but then it is on the upper segment of price.
As far as I'm concerned, I have been using the Motul 3000 4T Plus 10W30 oil (which is a mineral oil) and the bottle comes at around 240/-. I replace the oil after every 1200-1500 kms (though you can do it at 2000 kms as well), as a result of which my gearbox always runs in a bath of fresh oil, and it is lighter on the pocket too. This idea was given to me by the oil guru @Pinaki sir
After I started to use this oil I have come across the observation of smoothness and lesser vibrations till 70 kmph.
So make your choice wisefully
Warm Regards,
Pranav

Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF
You can increase the gear ratio by using 15T front sprocket for Unicorn. I got this installed few days ago, but this part is very difficult to get because most SVC only provide the entire chain set. I somehow managed to procure it through a friend working at a nearby Honda SVC. After switching to 15T front sprocket, I can do 70mph at about 6500 RPM.Originally posted by jammbuster View PostHi Frds, How ar you all ??

Regarding engine oil, for fully synthetic you can consider Shell Advance Ultra or Motul 300V but fully synthetic is quite expensive and not really required for our Stunner. I have been using Shell Advance AX7 Semi Synthetic 10W40 since last 1 year , very good oil and affordable as well - Costs about Rs 340 for a 1 liter bottle.
For chain cleaning, you can use kerosene or petrol. For lubrication, there are many chain sprays available or you can use gear oil (cheaper and better option).

Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF
Hello guys,
I am a recent Honda CB Trigger owner, still posting in this thread because CB Trigger thread has almost no active members.
Thus wanted to have your views on one query regarding 'Run in' period, which is common for all bikes.
I have done around 330 km as off now and I have read somewhere that the engine oil should be changed at around this time and postponing the first servicing to 600-650km.
Do you recommend this ?? Will this at all help in better run in??
I found this quite logical as this will remove any metal parts scrapped off during first few kilometers.
Please advice

Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF
Please take a look in the service manual and follow only what manufacturer says in the warranty period and listen to noneOriginally posted by SurajD View PostHello guys,

Obviously an early service period is to be done in order to remove scraps from the new engine, but take caution in that as per the guidance of the ASC till the warranty period is over

Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF
A bunch of people were wondering on this thread about the sprockets (specially whereabouts of 16-T) for Stunner. A lot of people seem to be using 15-T Unicorn sprocket. Honda provides 5 different products in this categories marked specially for stunner. The information with part numbers is below.
Front Sprocket Stunner 16-T (23801-KWF-940 )
Front Sprocket Stunner 14-T (23801-KWG-600)
Rear Sprocket Stunner 41-T (41201-KTE-910)
Rear Sprocket Stunner 42-T (41200-KWF-950)
Rear Sprocket Stunner 43-T (41200-KWF-840)
Unfortunately there is no officially supported sprocket that is 15-T (seems to be very popular). Check with your ASC, but using these sprockets would likely not void warranty as they are marked for Stunner.

Re: Honda 125 Stunner CBF
Finally managed to fit engine kill switch on my Stunner

Installation details:
1. Switchbox:
I used Yamaha Gladiator / SS125 switchbox. Cost: Rs 256 from Yamaha service center. Please don't use other bike's switchbox because it contains uselss light buttons, and Stunner has limited space available on right side of handlebar.
Space is an issue while fitting this kill switch, so the brake cylinder along with brake lever had to be moved to little left side, brake lever is still perfectly usable in this position. The switchbox also contains a small useless notch at the bottom which needs to be broken otherwise the switchbox will not close completely during fitment.
2. Wiring:
The Yamaha SS125 / Gladiator switchbox contains 4 wires:
Blue / Black striped
Black
and 2 red / yellow striped wires
Connect the blue / black striped wire and black wire to the stock Stunner self start button switch wires. The front brake light switch wire is also connected to the stock Stunner starter button unit, so we need to preserve it's wire and just remove old starter button by cutting it's two wires. This completes the self start button part.
The remaining 2 red / yellow striped wires are for the kill switch. Connect / Ground one wire to any part of the frame. Connect the other wire to the black wire on the ignition coil. Ignition coil is located just above the engine, you can find it by following the spark plug wire. Tank needs to be removed for convenient access to the wiring harness and ignition coil.
The idea of the kill switch is to ground the current going from CDI unit to the ignition coil so as to interrupt the spark generation and turns off engine safely.
