As being fully synthetic oil you can use it easily for 5k kms. But be aware of any leakage. I've heard that it has leakage problem with some engines.

Hi guys I'm getting a thud sound from the rear of my 220 Street...this happens when going over bumps and also when accelerating. It sounds like something is vibrating or loose around the rear shocks or somewhere near the number plate. The sound only comes when going over bumps or when picking up speed. Once I reach a steady speed then it's all quiet.

I noticed the same sound when I test rode the 220 Cruise... my bike has only done 47kms.

          • Bajaj Avenger 150 Street Handle Modification

            Hello guys,

Greetings! Hope everybody is doing great!

Just completed 15000 km on my Avenger Street 150.

Had a thought of changing the handle bar of the bike.

Wondering if the handle bar of Avenger 220 cruiser (new) would suit & fit on the street 150. Of course the handle bar would be with a complete black finish.

            Awaiting your valuable suggestions!

            Cheers,
            Omkar

Yes you can fit the 220 Cruise handlebar on your 150...but I think you'll have to change the cables to compensate for the height.

Are you sure that it was not from the chain due to increse of chain slack?

Check your rear shocks ,chain, and mostly the rear stand... On long use rear stand spring becomes loose which tends to hit to under area on passing humps on rear stand stopper located on silencer area

                    Hello guys,
To be honest am not a great fan of bajaj but love the avy 220 street very much by its look and riding posture. Am a solo rider and once in a year goes for a long trip which is 500kms in a single day. Things i worried about are knee ache and sore butt. Am sure avy is good for our legs.
Have anyone here done a all day trip (morning to night) or 500kms or more on your avy?
Were you guys suffered any sore butt issue while on long trip?
Is avy vibe free upto 85kms/hr?
Is stock headlight throw is enough to take on highways?
Will it make us tired after along ride?
I know am asking too much for a under one lakh machine.
Am looking for a trouble free steed only for touring purpose. So please be honest and your feed backs worth a lot for me.
Thank you guys and sorry for the long post.

Thanks for the info guys...appreciate it. Yeah I have a feeling it's from the either the chain or left rear shock. The chain has proper slackness. My bike has done 402kms so far.

Rider11... I just a 350km ride just yesterday on my brand new avy 220 Street. I bought my bike for touring purposes too. I didn't have any sore butt issues at all. The only problem I'm facing is a slight pain on my left ankle...not used to the cruiser riding position. I'm sure this is temporary.

About the vibes...I didn't really feel much. I stayed below 65 as I'm still in the run in process. It's actually quite smooth. The stock headlight is really good. I was going to install Osram night breaker plus but I won't now...the stock headlight is very good.

I feel this bike has a lot of mods you can do. For me my plans are to install handle bar risers by about 2 inches higher and closer to me. I have already installed the windscreen and plan to fit the backrest too. Also will get the stock seat redone to my liking. I want to make the pillion seat a lil wider. When I ride alone I have a rear seat bag which doubles up as backrest.

Avenger was always on my mind whenever I was thinking about getting a new bike. I'm glad I finally got her. Just buy the bike that makes you feel good from inside...rest don't matter.

                        • Need help/suggestion for my Bajaj Avenger Street 220

                          Hi All,
My bike is Bajaj Avenger Street 220 &
I am planning to get the below installed on my bike-
1- rear box (at the rear end of the bike..and not side)
2-change headlight.. finding the stock( yellow) ones are not that workable for rain rides
                          3- projector lights
4- Backrest for pillion & rider
5- swap tyres (approx 8k run on current tubed tyres)

                          Any leads/recommendations would be appreciated.
I am based out of Borivali(Mumbai)

Also do suggest if these mods would look good on the bike or not!

                          Awaiting your inputs folks!
                          Thanks in advance

                            Hi

You have made a good choice of buying the Street 220. Do make sure you take a test ride as well.
Below are my responses based on my experience so far

Have anyone here done a all day trip (morning to night) or 500kms or more on your avy?
                            Yes.

Were you guys suffered any sore butt issue while on long trip?
Not really. This is while riding for ~250kms in a single stretch and then taking a break. The bottom does get stiff of course, so taking a break helps stretch the muscles.
The new Avenger bikes have improved gel seat cushions which have added comfort. Also, the seating position is the most comfortable in this segment.

Is avy vibe free upto 85kms/hr?
Absolutely, I am not a fast rider but in my experience the bike performs extremely even above 100, beyond that you may face some vibrations.

Is stock headlight throw is enough to take on highways?
Yes, it is generally enough. If you want you can go for additional lights or change the headlight.

Will it make us tired after along ride?
As mentioned earlier, it has the most comfortable seat in its segment. Even after long ride the stiffness or pain will not be as much as any other bike. But yes, pillion rider will feel more as the pillion seat is not that comfortable for long rides.

                            You will enjoy your bike

                                Hey guys,
I am a new member here, I was following this thread and forum based on the advise given to me by my friend. I HAVE Just recently brought my new Avenger 150 street and I am absolutely in awe with it mashaa Allah.
MY first experience truly awesome and road turned into a sea and the bike into a boat for me and it was just cruising away.

The only disappointment I felt was that after riding for many kms on a long run your bottom starts feeling stiffness and you need to get out of bike and relax and move on.

Also can someone suggest any useful modifications that I can make for my avenger 150 street for a more comfy ride?
