Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
Manual doesn't say everything. Actually in a new bike the engine parts are edgy and after running for some thousands kms they get adjusted properly. That's why to reduce friction you should use mineral (thick) oil at first. As synthetic oil is thin, they are to be used when the engine is blend in properly to your requirement.Originally posted by iBerry View PostI went thru the manual it didn't say anything about normal or full synthetic. Is there any harm using full synthetic from the first oil change itself?Phoenix Came, Saw and Conquer My Heart, Forever...

Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
Hi there guys, I really want to buy the Avenger 220, I have ridden it quite a few times and its utterly comfortable and very neutral to handle, it is also very predictable and this will be my first own bike so I don't want to break the bank in my first buy,
But the fear of tube-tyres is putting a break to this wish.
I really feel insecure about this part.
Thoughts occur like "What if I suffer a puncture in the middle of nowhere and I am stranded" no way to fix it like we can on a tubeless variety.
So I implore you guys to tell me about your experiences, the precautions you take, and how you handle situations like this.

Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
Is Bajaj even making tubeless tyres for it? While it should be their primary concern for safety they look more concerned about new colours for the coming festive season. :/Originally posted by iBerry View PostIt's the rear you need to keep an eye out for... the front normally don't get punctured. Keep recommended tyre pressure and you should be ok. And eventually upgrade to tubeless when they are available.

Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
Had super bad day tonight. Every rider's worst nightmare. My avenger 150 got punctured in the middle of nowhere while returning home from office. It was completely deserted road. Had to self tow the bike for almost 2kms before I could find a puncture repair shop at 11pm. It was normal nail, got around five punctures fixed. Need to change the tube asap. Now I realise the importance of tubeless tires. Not sure why bajaj went old school with avenger series considering these are cruiser bikes. Small advice to everyone, please be extra careful while riding at night.

Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
Buddy you will not believe this I have been sending good emails to all the tyre companies for a solution for the rear tyre alternative of 130/90 r15. Tubeless as I have searched everywhere but there is no answer for this number. Can anyone out there advice a different size for these alloys on street 150 rear tubeless tyre. 150/70 or 140/90. What ever it takes has anyone changed I cannot go to the highway just with this thought in my mind if at all she gets puncture like my friend here. Friends please throw some good light I have changed the front ones to 90/90 r17 to tubeless to mrf zapper.Originally posted by md_minhaj View PostHad super bad day tonight. Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
I use Metzeler Lasertec tyres on my Street 220. The rear is 130 - 90/15 the front is 90 - 90/17. They are tubeless too.
You can use Metzeler Perfect ME77 tyres too. Both Lasertec and Perfect ME series of tyres are for small capacity cruiser bikes.

Forgot to mention...I got them from Thailand.

Can you provide a detailed information on how to get them imported?
Also how do they fare on the Avy?

Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
Went to check out the new Matte Wild Green colour that's launched this month and I can really say that this really creates a more powerful and strong looking motorbike than the Matte Black.
If you ask me I would choose this without a doubt!
P.S this gives a more army oriented look to me.

First you gave a smile then you took it away by your Ps note. Anyways how much did it cost you after the conversation in INR. I am going to Singapore in 2 months time thinking of getting a tyre from there.Originally posted by iBerry View PostI use Metzeler Lasertec tyres on my Street 220.
