As for the engine oil what I have learnt if you are heading to highways it is always a must to change the engine oil irrespective of your last change or km. So buddy the right thing would be of changing the engine oil for the better ment of the bike and a hassle free ride all along.
Hi arjun thanks for the reply.
Will changing the engine oil void the engine warranty. My bike is 8 months old with 2.5K on ODO and done with 2 services. ( can I change from mineral oil to other with less than 5k on ODO)
I found out two choices of engine oil ,Motul 7100(full synthetic) or Motul 5100(semi-synthetic) which one should I prefer?

Also any suggestion's for led fog lamp installations on avy street?
    Thanks

Hello everyone, got by first bike avenger 150 on 14th November for on-road price of 91,850 in Tirupati.
They asked me to choose one for test ride from the storage room. I found some with tube and 1 or 2 tubeless variants, opted for tubeless, though the bike looks like it has been there for months(so dusty and in a corner of the room). But the service guy pointed me towards an extension on the engine and said that it is a new model and has more pickup.

filled with 1000rs and have clocked about 690-700 km(50kmpl average-25%city,75%highway) within 2 weeks and got it serviced on 30th,
      Problems I've faced
      1) Rider seat is comfortable but pillion seat is a pain (narrow and hard)-thought getting a seat cover would solve this problem but made it even worse, even lost rider seat comfort(it became hard and sweaty)
2)within 200kms gearshifts lost its smoothness
3)after filling for 500rs fuel gauge is in readline after 100kms ride filled again with 500rs it went to full
4)There's always a fuel leak(fuel drops when parked) from a rubber hose down to carb (carb drain pipe)-dont know the reason, said to service guy but still presists! Need help
5)New tic-tic sound in engine and its fades away when clutch is engaged -reduced after service
6)Feeling a little back pain on long rides(may be due to new hard seat cover) and wrist pain in traffic-clutch lever too far i guess
      Mods I've done
      1) Seat cover and tank cover for 600rs-(thinking of removing seat cover-will it be any problem?)
      2) got grills form amazon for 670rs headlight, taillight, indicators
      3) got studds side box from amazon 790 rs
      4) indicator buzzer,handle bar grips,100rs

as far as the running period is considered,
-Never crossed 55-60kmph till first service-(20-30% of throttle-ultra smooth ride)
-2 times reached 75kmph but feels like im at 80% of throttle and some vibrations(don't know if it's common)
      -Constantly varying rpm or speed
----------Is there anything else i need to consider?

does anyone know what this extension on engine is(is it the new bs4 standard engine) ?
      Thanks

Change the engine oil with 5100 of motul semi synthetic. It would be good for the bike but do this after you have done 4000 on the odo till then stick with 20 w 50 which is good for the engine for now. Don't even think for fully synthetic.

Firstly congrats on your new bike I like the snaps which u shared with us. As for the leakage well it happened in my case to for which I got the carb open and changed the fuel pin which has solved my problem for good. But the carburetor has to be tuned again remember which is good also as the bike gives a low fuel problem which is happening with most of the avanger out there as the company has set the carb to fully rich for a good fuel efficiency irrespective of the feeling of the low fuel problem which we are facing. Hence just this job done from a capable service guy whome you think is a professional in your asc.
For the snap which you have shared I think in the new bs4 version of 150 avanger I think they have removed the air cool system and added oil cool system in the new variant can u please share one picture of the front middle part of the engine which will clear this picture. Also buddy please click the snap of the rear tyre or tell me the make of the company as you have got tubeless tyres on this bike i.e. bs4 version. Do this for me thank you.

Hi ,The rear tyre has MRF NYLOGRIP ZAPPER Tubeless embedded on it. And i don't think it is oil-cooled, it doesn't have radiator and stuff.

So I tuned my carburetor air fuel mixture to rich by approximately one turn and half anti clockwise from stock settings.
Along side also adjusted the idle rpm to match the new carb mixture setting.

Also tightened the clutch cable quite a bit as I could see the rear wheel moving even with clutch fully pressed.
Loosened the rear brakes a bit in such a way that while there is ample free play of the wheel, but the brake gets in action as soon as it's pressed.

Lubed the chain again after 250kms, 3M chain spray lube.

I did not have had the chance to ride the bike for more than few kms in street but now the bike feels in a totally different leauge. The engine vibrations have vanished, the roughness has gone away by huge margins, and the sound is so WoW!!
I can ride at 40-45kmph on 3rd gear with engine sounding the same way as it used to sound at 40-45kmph in 4th gear!! The gear speed ratio totally changed based on engine sound.

Also after the clutch cable was tightened, the gear shifts are butter smooth. All I need it a gentle shift and it slicks silently and shifts!!!!!

I never had experience on carb settings tbh, but it didn't seem a big deal unless you're too concern with drops in mileage. I always wanted my bike to run smooth and powerful rather than rough but more miles.

I will check the spark plugs after a while to see what color they have, just to make sure I didn't make it too rich.

To all those who were having issues similar to me, I would recommend you guys to try some. Self Maintenance and tuning of the bike. From my understanding the showroom guys or ASC, adjust the bike's stock settings to very weak levels. Specially the carb mixture, the stock settings are too poor.

You may loose out a bit on mileage but trust me the power gain seems totally worth!!

The engine now sounds more like a Honda engine than Pulsar [emoji14]

I was thinking of something which I believe won't be good for the bike what you all say of putting a remote lock system of avanger 150 had any one seen or done it. Will it be good enough for a 12v 4 amp. Battery will it support it for a longer period my bike is going to be a year old now. On the come 21st of January 2017. It has been a very good year I thank a ton to my ride for giving me a trouble free year of full service. But now I was thinking for giving it some security. What do you all my friends out there say on this yes or no. Simple 1 word.
I was just checking on the net n ok one has done it on a avanger I wonder. Is it difficult or will it harm the bike. These are the questions which are comming in my mind. I had done this in my previous 180 but I have a doubt on the battery point of view.

It wouldn't harm the bike at all.
My brother has it done on his Avenger 220 street for 9 months now, still going strong.
What's more laudable is that the Bajaj center here did it themselves and they even sell it! The particular model they sell is 'Xenos - Great Dane', and though the remote isn't that good looking it is made in India and has a year of warranty, which I believe is more important.

                    Hai friends..
                    am new to the forum.
Looking street150 as an upgrade for my dad from his 5year old hero Glamour.
Myself own a RS200, so love the vfm factor bajaj offers.

Took a veryshort testride of street150, it wasn't a great experience, mainly because of the bike was not in a good condition.

                    Still verymuch liked the comfort!

So what I want to know is Braking of street150.
                    *How is the stopping power?
*How is the overall stability of the bike under hard braking?
*How is the front end under hard braking and front brake alone?
*How is the performance of the bike with a pillion ?
My other option in 150cc is Suzuki gixxer, because of the Stability of that bike, and braking, dad like that bike too.

                    Thanks in Advance!

I went out on a small trip of 400km to and fro with my Avenger Street 220 few days ago. Its been 3 months now and 3300km in my odometer. During my trip on the highway i could get a top speed max of only 115km/hr, the motorcycle wont go faster than that even though i tried my best. Am i the only one facing the issue? will changing the engine oil help? or something is wrong with my engine? please help..

                        Hi
I have covered approx 500km on my Golden Cat and i am waiting for its registration and first service.
So I changed the oil my self to 20W50 and adjusted Carburetor setting by half turn (rich).
It was exactly on 2 turns rich setting from factory. After adjusting the carburetor ,engine RPM increased so I reduced idle setting by rotating idle screw.
I also installed chrome plated saree guard with additional step for more comfort. Original saree gaurd was all black and I was not happy with its look. Now this new chrome saree guard looks shining.
Modified rear seat for more width and cushion comfort.
Adjusted Wind screen angle to resist more wind flow while driving in winter season.

I will observe bike behavior for some days before its first service.

                        hi

Avi 220 top speed is 114km/hr so your bike is doing as per design. No worry.
If you want more speed, you have to increase rear tyre size if available.

                            Hi,
This is location of Carburetor and there is a Brass screw. ALWAYS REMEMBER THE NUMBER OF TURNS YOU CHANGE FROM ORIGINAL SETTING!!!
