Witnessed first puncture on my bike today, it made a bang sound and went over for next 15mins/10kms before I felt the bike handling messed up completely. I realized that it's a puncture.
Unfortunately I realized this on the highways and took some effort to take it to a nearby puncture shop.
Luckily I found one during night, and he repaired the front wheel with tubeless tires repair strip.
The damn thing got punctured by a huge glass piece embedded in the tire.
I suppose it's always good to have tubeless tires, I am sure I may have crashed otherwise due to loosing control of front wheel at high speed suddenly.

Too bad u had a puncture but too good u had tubeless tyre and could travel to the nearest repair shop.. I have ditch my stock tubed tyre and i have changed my front to Michelin - Pilot Sporty 100/80-R17. For the rear, i couldn't coz here at the local store the tyre were out of stock but they will be getting it soon. The rear tubeless tyre only option here is the TVS Rambo 140/90-R15 which i think will be pretty good for highways and on gravels. After replacing the front tyres, I've noticed that the high speed straight line stability has greatly improved and i hope after replacing rear tyre to TVS Rambo the stability will be even better.

Thank you for the tips regarding the carb mixture settings. I have also adjusted the mixture to rich like u recommended. The bike's performance has enhanced and I've noticed better acceleration and the 3rd gear has suddenly become very usable. 2nd Gear have become a little bit more powerful at low RPM and the engine sound has changed a bit too and I like it. But the vibration is still there but a little lesser now and i am sure MOTUL 5100 engine oil will fix the engine vibration. And please let me know after checking ur spark plugs coz I'll too need to change the mixture settings if its running too rich.

And those guys who wants a boost to ur motorcycle should definitely try this carb mixture tuning and enjoy ur motorcycle performing better.. Thanks mate!

Well yes the street 150 is indeed a very good bike but as u are wanting comfort for your dad yes there is loads. As for the pillion nope not for looong rides as the back goes. Gixr is also a good option you can try that one to.
Also for the tyres which yo u are getting in the new avy are tubeless so no worries it's called the bs4 version.
The breaking of avanger is good the rear are very nice being drum they work for me pretty well as also the front one. But yes if there is gravel or sand never hit your breaks as this bike looses control very fast even if you cross the bike over it. Sometimes it's Scarry have gone through it 2 twice till date.
As mentioned the stopping power is good.
Yes as bajaj I have been ridding there product for 7 years now. There are times as it can happen with any bike out there or any brand for that matter which is called disk lock. You know when the time we hit the front break in panic and sometimes not always the bike disk gets lock like thak yes that is the time you have to be very cautious as you may fall down. With practise and time you get very adjusted with this bike. Like for me I never liked avanger but today I am in love with it. It's been a 1 year relation ship with her now.


Can you please confirm or any one out there if at all this rear tubeless tyre only option here is the TVS Rambo 140/90-R15 can be fitted I the current street 150 model on the same alloys. As the asc manager was saying that for getting the tubeless tyre you have to change the rim too. Also this make is different from the current version. 130/90 15.

Will the anti theft system will be comfortable with 12v4.5 ah battery. On avanger 150. I am still confused on this and there is like no one out there has even put it on the new bike. Well I guess it will look nice on the bike. I had it in my previous bike but yeah it a 9 ah battery then.

Autocar India's take on Bajaj Avenger 220 Street/Cruise for Laddakh.
It does feel a bit biased though, specially when they mentioned that braking and off roading is good, which in reality is a sad story .

The video was nice and yeah not even ones the person showing the video mentioned even ones of any problem on the bike rather he was saying that the bike was super fantastic. I know if you use a machine in really hard manner it tends to loose some of its reliability. Agree on that but buddy my point here is that like u said breaking and off roading is good but the real story behind the lines was something different. Bhai agar woh sabh bata daingai then how will they sell in the market. Something should be made for understanding. [emoji3]

Yesterday went to petrol pump to fill fuel and out of curiosity, checked tyre pressure in rear wheel.
I shocked to see the tyre pressure was 32 instead of recommended 25!!!!!!
Checked front tyre pressure as it was 29 instead of 21!!!
Immediately lowered pressure to recommended 21 in front and 25 in rear tyre, now my bike runs very smooth on bad roads, jumping is reduced after that.

Check your tyre pressure soon.

Avenger is really better than RE bikes in terms of comfort and suspension.
Its reliable engine is superb!

I wasn't talking about reliability and comfort. Avenger in any means is by far better than RE when it comes to Comfort and Reliability/Maintenance, however its the braking and control on off-roads or non tarmac which is terrible - though most of it is due to the design of the bike so there's nothing that can be done about it other than adding Rear Discs and ABS.
Anyway, my point was how in the video review they mention the false claims of braking and control being exceptional on rough terrain which is entirely opposite. So this is like fooling the end buyer .

The braking is not low, just efforts needed to apply rear breaks are much more than normal bikes. As Avi has most of the load on rear tyre, it takes more efforts to stop the bike.
But yes, braking feels low.

I am waiting for Avi 400 model which will be having tubeless Alloy wheels and rear disc brakes, if allowed by design, I will install that brake setup in my 220 for sure

When i had bought my bike from showroom and went to fill petrol for second time after say 150 kms ,i went to check tyre pressure as per manual, coz the brake was not applying properly and bike is feeling slippery even with little brake and would take heck of time to stop, was shocked to found rear tyre had 40 psi and front had 29 psi, guess showroom guy filled it that much , even the petrol pump tyre air filler guys fill every bike rear 40 and front 30 , be it gearless activa or any bike , or hech rickshaw and cars too.they are lazy to change and people dont complain or even know.since changing to 21 psi front and 25 rear , brakes are working better , bike is not slippery at sudden brakes and takes less time to stop , every week i go to tyre air filling just to check air pressure.

Start filling nitrogen if you get it anywhere I am doing it so since say 4 months now just one fill and for 1 month the same tyre pressure is there no leakage. .. also I am getting 29 front 32 rear

bro about engine oil if i change to moto 4 gold 20w50 , will my warranty be void ? , i am planning to change after break in (2000 kms as per manual ) , i am runing on bajaj oil since first service ,now i have clocked 945 kms .will bajaj accept ? i know here they will make excuses .if there will be warranty even after an other oil change i can correct them.gear shift is little better as i went to local mechanic , but not great as earlier .btw i correct myself they did not put any addictives in oil , they did engine flushing , ya its standard bajaj oil 1000 series something.

after 10k kms i am planning to change to motul 7100 20w50 , heard lot of good things about it .
