Generally all bikes come with rich mixture setting from Factory. As the kickstarter was eliminated from Dazzler, to assist in cold starts, Honda might have made the mixture rich.Originally posted by MACH50 View PostHH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler

Yep, even I felt the rear suspension to be a bit stiff during the test ride that I took recently.Originally posted by nidclt View Post2. Suspension too hard. Even I changed from hard to soft after two days of purchase, its too hard for the pillion rider as he gets all the vibes of the road.
But then a firm suspension also usually returns sharper handling.

hey mine has run 800kms now and i have never experienced any starting problem. If you are inspecting yourself i think u get some pictures from the internet and compare how your plug looks because plugs may look like very dirty and black but only experienced people can make out differences between a worn and dirty plug and a good one. Anyway take your bike to the service centre get it inspected if svc guy says get it changed.Originally posted by Sirius View PostThanx for the pic... I opened up the spark plug in suspicion... Coz my friend owns a unicorn (2009) and within a week he bot it, the bike refused to start... this happened while we wer in college and we took it to the nearest mech and he opened up the spark plug and showed us how badly it was damaged... So we bot a new one and drove home... So this made me to inspect it and wen i did, this was the result... Only so m worried...
Abt the mech who inspected your friends Uni. He might have replaced your plug saying its spoiled and then would have sold your plug to some third person. The one which he gave you may also be an old one. Mechs do such things. And due to the riding habits of beginners plugs tend to get dirty soon and bike may refuse to start. Just some cleaning helps.

Got the bike after service yesterday evening. Problems 1 and 3 solved. Engine is so smooth now. Touched 100 in the highway yesterday. No vibes at all. Very good acceleration.Originally posted by nidclt View PostI gave my dazzler for first service today. 690km done.
The main problems I said to the service center were:
1. Handle bar tight - its tight to turn from complete left to right even on stand
2. Suspension too hard. Even I changed from hard to soft after two days of purchase, its too hard for the pillion rider as he gets all the vibes of the road.
It is not the same as old unicorn's. This one has two springs. One black and one red. Any one know anything about these kind of suspension?
3. Gear slip - When downing from 5 to 3rd or second I need to use clutch twice or more.
Hope these problems will be cleared when i get back my bike today evening.
But the suspension is still a little hard.
Anyway I'm happy with my bike now.

i had 2 & 3 problems on my CB Unicorn when it was new...now after 1.5 months the suspension has become smooth its not hard on me and I havn't changed it to soft mode. Gear slips is not a major issue, i thnk it happens if there is sudden reduction of rpm coupled with gear change mean to say if they don't sync properly..i still have that problem but its once in a while...
let me know if u notice it again i will too contact my service guy to check it..
jus a advice dont rattler ur engine beyond 100 this early...let the machine run for some 1.5-2K kms...Honda is very beautiful engine my frnds Unicorn is magic even after 3yrs

I cannot stop praising Honda for their gear box. This is the best thing of the bike . I rode a passion , Pulsar 135 and 220 before but the meaning of smoothness i only understood after riding my Dazzler.Originally posted by nidclt View PostGot the bike after service yesterday evening. Could it be any smoother

Three months ago I wanted to buy a cruiser, I had only two options, RE or Bajaj Avenger. Now, RE is something which is disliked in my family. Although, I was still looking for a used one I couldn't get a good deal. And the Avenger, it seems even Bajaj is not interested in selling it. I asked at showroom here, they said they don't sell it here :| , I have to buy it from Calicut. Well, that didn't inspire confidence in me for the bike, adding the general cruisers 'handling' in traffic.
Now, I slowly started loosing interest in the cruiser segment and started focusing on commuter bikes with decent power to do trips when needed. After some digging through showrooms, internet and peoples minds, I landed on this beauty.
Though, I didn't like its name, Riding Unicorn sounds like im some fairy tale princess riding its white horse with a stick on top. "Dazzler" ? The closest words I can remember are Dazzling or Bedazzled which again sounds like from some Barbie doll commercial.
But its a Honda, its smooth, although I haven't gone above 60 yet, (didn't want to push it till the 1st service) it felt smooth. There is decent fuel efficiency, there is a rear disk as a added security. But above all I felt good riding this bike, that's all I needed, to put a smile on my face.
The bikes I looked before buying the D,
- FZ16/FZS - This Yamaha is in my mind even before it was released, even when my cousin looked to buy R15, I was more inclined to the FZ16. I mean, there is not a single angle on this bike that you feel is wrong, anywhere you look, its style dripping. Once I even confused the FZ1 for FZ16. Its an unbelievably beautiful piece on indian roads. Love Yamaha for that.
~ Maybe its the 7-10kmpl mileage drop or the lack of rear disk brake or the 2000 INR more than the Honda that made me switch to Dazzler.
- Apache RTR 180 - After driving this bike, if I had little time think, I would've definitely choosen it. Its Powerful, too much powerful for its price, just 3k more than dazzler and you get everything the honda gives you including the rear disc breaks. I still love its design more than the Dazzlers. "And" you have a Kick start in it
(The Cherry on top ?) .
And the Power delivery ? I can't define it. Love it !
~ The seating position, as the bike deserves, is more sporty and leaned forward. But considering that I work all day sitting on chair with back aches, I do not want to go sit on that for a ride after a hard day. Nope.

Yup, Same color, I preferred Silver or Black over Red & Golden, but the majority of votes from friends n family went for the black.Originally posted by Sirius View PostCongrats on your new ride... Enjoy the quality... But your friend too got the same color rite...? Anyways,
Here is the explanation my uncle gave me for why the new vehicles are ridden/driven softly till first service.Originally posted by Sirius View PostMy bike has just returned after its 1 st service... 504 kms done... The vehicles made for common mass, are produced in bulk and there is very little or only mandatory testing that goes on it. So, till the first service, different per manufacturers, the vehicle can have any kind of problems. Usually, Internal problems can only be noticed after certain period/mileage. (And in case of rough handling, after it has caused enough damage).
In the first service, it is checked and dealt with these minor problems. These problems can become major ones if the engine/vehicle is pushed to its limits. So it is advised to go smoothly before the first service & made sure that the engine was fine in the distance it ran.Last edited by iwonder; 06-22-2010, 05:51 PM.Peace \m/
