Did you try using the choke ? It usually happens with most of the bikes, I believe, you need to pull down the choke.Originally posted by psycho_omkar View PostPeace \m/

Yes I did.... It works, but is it needed to be done everytime the engine turns cold... It doesnt make sense to me using the choke everytime we start the bike in the morn or whenever the engine turns cold...Originally posted by iwonder View PostDid you try using the choke ? Guys did a test drive on Dazzler on behalf of my friend. Distance driven approximately 2 Kms. The ODO reading of bike 36 Kms. Engine idle rpm was set to 2000 rpm, but engine was running very silently.
Pros
- Low saddle height even a guy like me (5 6") can put both feet on ground.
- Light weight and nimble
- Very smooth gear box
- Good stability under braking ( Didn't use rear brake)
- Comfortable seating for pillion
Cons
- Easily mistaken for Twister
- Lacks low end torque compared to FZ
Thats sums my riding experience, couldn't get enough space to redline her. I heard many people saying the engine smoothness is lost in Dazzler, I didn't feel so, after covering some 3K on ODO engine will be as smooth as Unicorn. Transmission is worth mentioning, best in its class. My friend wanted to book Dazzler, but give up the idea when Sales Man said a waiting period of 8 months
. We said that we can arrange for a ready cash he didnt even budge. He just lost a potential buyer

New engines get heated quickly as the resistance between piston rings and cylinder is highOriginally posted by psycho_omkar View Post1. The bike heats up pretty fast, I dont understand the reason for it... Is anyone of you facing this prob of engine heating up???
. Piston rings will eventually wear forming an optimum coupling with cylinder
, which is usually called as break-in period. This is very common and will go away as you drive
.
On cold starts its always advised to use choke2. I am having some troubles to rev the bike in mornings.. The bike starts easily with one puch of the self start however when I engage the first gear and leave the clutch, the bike dies.. I have to rev lill more than the usual to get the bike going.. As I engage the second gear then and accelarate, the bike behaves as if petrol is getting over and gives those jerks and if I rev a lill more again, it works fine...
Is anyone facing this prob or has any idea about it...
. Since the engine is mounted vertically unlike horizontal engine of HeroHonda, always idle the bike at least for half a minute so that oil rises to every essential components, this will decrease the wear and tear. Air cooled engines works in optimum(max mileage) at an engine temp of 80 degrees, so always ride slow for first 5 min. If the engine still stalls set the idle rpm a little higher say 1500 rpm.
Its always good to change the oil quickly3. I have completed 110 kms and thinking to get the oil changed once before the first service by the honda service center itself.. What do you guys suggest cuz I have heard that it is advisable to change the oil in 100 kms and then in the first service again as when the engine is new, the friction between metal particles in the engine is more and is possible that small tiny pieces/particles of metal fall in the oil...
, not just oil but filter also
. The majority of break-in happens in initial few kms. The chips and fine metal particles may clog the filter and may hinder the oil circulation. But if you take bike to service centre they may take it as first service. Consult them if they can change oil and filter only.

Yea, I too was thinking about it and inquired at a local shop.Originally posted by Sirius View PostGuyz... M thinkin of fitting my Dazzler with HIDs... Any suggestions...?
There were two models. One without guarantee at a price of Rs.2600 with installation and another is Philips with 1 year guarantee for both bulb and ballast for a price of Rs.3600/-. I'm doubtful about the later because have heard that Philips starting range is 6000. Shop owner was telling that this won't void electrical warranty of the bike, but (I think) this will take away the warranty as the AC system needs to be converted to DC.
Need help from experienced guys.

Since I am in Pune and bike in mumbai, I asked my bro to get the oil changed. He went to the Honda service station but they refused to change the oil.. He told them that he wants to change the oil and is paying for the same, but they said that they will not do it.. Was quite amazed by their answer.Originally posted by Anupdas View PostIts always good to change the oil quickly

. If the service centre refuses
to change the oil, buy a 1L can of Honda oil or any other preferably Motul, Gulf, AGIP (only mineral oil ) and Oil filter(from service centre) and go to a local mech. He will change the oil and filter for not more than 20 bucks
. I think Honda uses Idemitsu oil though its packaged as Honda oil, since your bro is in Mumbai he can get all kinds of oil
. Do change oil, its the cheapest and safest tweak for engine health
.

is it important to change the oil filter too ??? What if one just changes oil and not the filter cuz I have just completed 100 kms...

The oil filter would be clogged by now
. The metal chips and particles will be produced in the first few kms say 20 km and they will get trapped in the filter and this filthy oil(suspended with fine metal particulates) is being circulated through out
. Its mandatory to change the oil and filter in the first service. But the oil change interval is 750-1000 km which is way too long. Usually the oil filter is only available at service centre, you have to buy it from them. If you change only oil its OK, but when this new oil circulates through the filter(already clogged) it will get dirty soon(whats the need to change oil then). So its better if you change both
. The oil filter will cost around 35 and the 1 L mineral oil will cost 200, its still cheap.

You should hurry back and change the oil filter before the new oil is spoiledOriginally posted by iwonder View PostI did my first service today and they just changed the oil when I asked they said it need to be changed now. Should I go back n tell them to fix it ?
. Filter change on first service should never be skipped, what ever they say force them to change
.
Yeah, its worth that much effortOriginally posted by psycho_omkar View PostHmm... makes sense... I ll be going back to Mumbai this weekend, will get in done on my own then rather than asking my bro to do it... He will get confused.. lol
. Most people suggest Motul 3000T as best oil for break-in . I would suggest to buy the Honda oil and filter from service centre and get it changed from a local mechanic
.
