        Regards,
        Diwakar.
There is a clutch switch on the bike which needs to be changed. This allows the bike to be started when in gear with clutch lever pulled in. Get this replaced and things should be fine!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

          • Need advice regarding the bike

Hi to all this is aravindh from rural south of tamilnadu.
Currently my ride is pulsar ug3 which have done 44000km on the odo.
            I am having two questions.
First what is the average cost of rebuilding the engine.?
After rebuilding the power of the bike is upto to satisfactory can I get stock performance.?
And I am having a dilemma of buying a new bajaj CT100B in exchange of the pulsar due to some financial constraints and seeing the milage figures of CT100.
What is your opinion about this situation.?
            Please help me regarding this.

cost of major engine parts in INR- Block-piston-1700-1800, valves-400, timing chain-200 plus any other damaged parts and labor cost....In SVC they will quote 7k-10k...rebuilding can be economical if you persuade the SVC mechanic to work on engine outside SVC on holiday...Tell him to replace the above spares and damaged parts ONLY... You can get it done for around 4-5k....the performance will be more than satisfactory... pulsar and ct100 are different breeds....If you want good mileage you better go for platina or ct100

                    • Pulsar 150-Dtsi suspension problem

Hi, I have a five year old Pulsar 150 DTSI.
A couple of months ago, I started to feel stiffness in the rear suspension. So I did the reasonable thing and took it a Bajaj Service center. There they said the shocks are completely gone and replaced it. Initially for like two days it seemed fine before stiffening again. When I took it back to the service center, they kept changing the adjustment level from soft to hard to soft. But again after 2-3 days the same problem.

Thinking, it was my back, I tried friends bikes, Apache, another Pulsar and a Passion. Incredibly there was no pain or stiffness felt.
I even took it to one of the shock absorber specialist shops. They also 'serviced' and did the stiffness level changing. But no real change.
So should I try and replace the shocks again? I am out of options at this point.

                      Note: Drive about 4-5 km/day
Front suspension is fine - no jerks felt. Only back suspension problem.

                      Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

                      • Need Help with Modding Pulsar 150 UG3

I own a second owned P150 UG3 '08 model which was 23k on the odo when i bought. It started showing troubles of overheating and extreme harshness so i went to ASC and they had me replaced the Block Piston and Valves n Timing Chain and so on. Now the run in has been completed (2000km) and oil has been changed and all. Its almost 29k on the odo. But i still have performance issues like after a bit of running the engine doesnt feel smooth. Like after a 8km ride the engine gets moderately heated up and the sound seems to come like harsh after that instead of the smooth one i get when its from cold start. The mechanic says the bike is in good condition but i dont really know if it is since i dont have much experience with UG3s. Anybody can shed some light on this? I have asked the Mech to check every possible thing. He says AFR is fine and the bike is in perfect condition and its normal for it to change sound but I'm not convinced..

And well.. As i have completed the initial run with the new mill, I want to mod for more performance and a better sound. It gives around 50+ kmpl as of now. What sorts of mods can i put on my bike without causing it any serious trouble for the coming 4-5years. Are the Free Flow air filters effective enough? My cousin bro got an Apache 160 with a KNN and he has upjetted too but that bike gives a hell of a torque. I dont know if its the almost redlining or the engine or the KNN. But it was really awesome and compared to that.. My p150 feels like a wounded person trying to sprint literally.. And im always worried of screwing up its engine. So.. What all can i do for a better performance. I know a better bike would do but im not in a position to afford one right now so all i can do is mod my P150 at the moment. If FF Air Filters are good, then which should i get? UNI,KNN or Green?

And I'm also interested in electrical hacks. I got an arduino and i can program. Can anybody direct me to some examples and brief guides on stuffs i require?

                        Thanks in advance.

Check the swingarm bushes(This should be the only thing left after changing rear shockers)
Does the rear section makes a squeaky sound when you sit on it in winters ??
There is a screw point on both sides from where you can oil the bearings.(It is visible on the right side, for left side you will have to remove front sprocket cover)
Take to the service centre and ask them to oil the swingarm bearings..
If they are reluctant then take the help of roadside mechanics.

Finally took the time to clean/grease the Cone set bearings..
This thing was troubling me for a month or so..
This was the first time it was cleaned in 5+ years of owning the bike.

Upper bearing had some grease left but the lower one was completely dried up.

                          UPDATE:
After greasing the bearings and leveling the forks the bike's completely transformed, in handling the front end is now more lighter and handling has improved a lot. !!!
There forks were not leveled perfectly and my bike used to pull to one side.
Which caused riding fatigue as I had to keep the bike at balance.
I would recommend this job at least every year or 15,000 KMS.

I'm also in trichy. The mechanic at Kailash Nagar Bajaj SVC is a good guy. Consult him once. I had to replace my engine block piston, timing chain, valves, etc but it was sort of worth it. Anyway, if you find a good pulsar specialist then let me know too..
