Yes. the leakage is from the front underside.

if oil level & quality is ok, then the AFR needs to be checked. the colour of spark plugs displays it clearly. if its brown, its perfectly ok. also, the mileage reveals a lot. with the fuel knob 'OFF' the bike should run for at least 1.2 kms. (max 1.4 kms)

if AFR is also ok, then the valve clearance needs to be checked (Tappet settings). it should not be too tight. a free movement of around 3mm will suffice. However too much free movement will produce 'tik tik' sound.

if this is also ok, then clutch plates need to be checked.

Yes that tank will fit on your pulsar. I discussed it with authorised service centre guy when I went to order grey mask for my pulsar. He also suggested to check for the reason of damage caused to that old tank so that the new replaced one doesn't gets same infection.

        Thanks a lot bro!

The reason for leakage is stored petrol in the tank (about 250 ml) for 6 months which corroded the metal.

Yes it may alter the position/angle at which foots rest. If you find that comfortable give it a try. Footrest in classic are too much towards front I agree. A complete 220/180 setup will be fine.

Check the carb tuning, ask the mechanic to tune the vacuum screw as it is commonly known. Overheating can also be caused when the fuel air ratio in the engine is off tune.

                      • Trusted mechanic/shop for Pulsar 150 DTSi UG4 block piston work

                        Hi
I am owner of Bajaj pulsar 150 DTSi UG4 (2009 model) clocked 26k km. From last more than a year my bike started giving black smoke from the exhaust and from last month I have also noticed oil on engine head. I have also contacted few mechanic and Khivraj bajaj Indiranagar, most of them suggested that my bike needs block - piston work to permanently solve this problem but few suggested to check the engine oil level regularly and top up whenever required after noticing engine noise and odometer.

Request you all to please suggest best or trusted workshop/mechanic for block - piston work in Bangalore. Also advise if you have any other suggestion.

                        Thanks
                        Rajesh

                        • Free Flow Air Filter for Pulsar 150 UG3. Help me!

I'm looking to upgrade my stock filter into a Free Flow Air filter. I can't find any advices on anything other than KnN filters on this site. Can anybody suggest a Free Flow filter other than KNN? I have a Pulsar 150 UG3.

Free Flow Air Filter Then what is the meaning of a FILTER?. I hope you mean to say HIGH FLOW AIR FILTER. My humble suggestion, please don't go for K&N or any other high flow filters. Stick to the OEM Filter only. Others will spoil the engine with partially filtered air.

                            Thanks
                            Nidin

Do not make the mistake of doing this mod. It will ruin the engine.

That may be a fault of tuning. Make sure the engine oil you use is of recommended properties for pulsar 150 engine. Get the carb tuned by SVC. Then check if the issue persists.
