- Engine is very rough and vibrates, I do regular servicing, have changed the block and piston and i use Motul semi synthetic oil still feels a rev unhappy kind of engine.
- Pulsar 150 UG3 has a rapid oil depletion issue. I had found an old thread for this issue but not so confident about the solution.
Any suggestions from experienced xbhipans will we appreciated. - Not so important, but would like to increase the engine capacity only if it is safe and adviceable.
- Please suggest a good pulsar mechanic in Mumbai who can address the above issues/work.
Thank you

Re: Help regarding Pulsar 150 dtsi
8 years is too much. I have Pulsar 150 ug3 that is also 8 years and 25k clocked kms. The engine doesn't feel smooth while revving. I switched from Castrol Power1 (Semi synthetic) to Castrol Power1 Racing (Full Synthetic). Engine did feel smooth but not as smooth as is was earlier. I tried mixing STP carburettor cleaner with fuel after which i felt a difference in the way the bike accelerates and its grunt but still roughness and vibes are persistent. Time and distance takes a toll on your bike. Now i use to for occasional here and there movement. My major commutes happen over Uber.Originally posted by 0gravity View PostAwaiting reply, kindly help.

my pulsar 150 cc sounds some strange sound
2 months back my pulsar 150 engine rebore and clutch kit also replaced
after completing 850 kms some chin chin sound comes from the engine sound while driving at 50 kmph and engine also starts vibrating
today i showed this to service centre he said that the timing of clutch has to be replaced does it true?

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
I have this frequent squeaking sounds from front disc brakes. The moment i press it gently it sounds like metal brushing with each other. Upon pressing it more, it stops. I changed the brake pads for the first time at 17k kms (I got this done under my supervision). After riding like 50kms more it started coming again. When i ask the mechanic about it he does something (probably apply some oil) but after the oil fades away, it starts squeaking.
Any leads on this?
Should i visit service centre? I have the least amount of trust on them.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
It can be of a scored rotor too. How good are you rotors, if they have steps in them or you have indentations in the surface when you touch the rotor, then it's time to change the rotor. That being said, squealing can be caused due to excessive brake pad dust accumulated inside the caliper, cleaning them would provide temporary solution, but if the revert back, I'd suggest you to change the rotor and clean the caliper thoroughly. Since you've used a new set of pad now, pads won't be necessary.Originally posted by neeljinwala View PostI have this frequent squeaking sounds from front disc brakes. Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
That sounds convincing. The pads are as well 8k kms old and i usually brake in the pattern of 60-40% (60 at the front).Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostIt can be of a scored rotor too. So it would be good to buy the spares (rotor and pads) from SVCs and get it changed by some local mechanic. What do you say? Any idea how much the rotor costs?

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Yes, you can get them from the SVC and get them fixed it outside. Overall they shouldn't cost you max 1.5k.Originally posted by neeljinwala View PostThat sounds convincing. The pads are as well 8k kms old and i usually brake in the pattern of 60-40% (60 at the front).
