Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi 2004 Model CDI issue

Hi, I own a Bajaj Pulsar which is a 2004 model and I have been having issues with the Bike.

There is not a single day which doesn't goes without the Bike Hiccups.

The Bike Misfires and when i got to the mechanic he said me that this is CDI issue and it needs to be replaced but i can't find the same match with the Authorised service dealers.

With that the Dealers say me that the Part number has been changed and you will get it with Part number DJ 11 1008 but the Original Part Number is DH 11 1019.

With that also I changed the CDI with the given part number by the Authorised dealer but then also the same problem arise and now the Bike doesn't moves an inch. And it struggles when it is put into first gear.

And Once a CDI is Sold by the Authorised Dealer it is not received back by them because it is an electronic item ( mentioned by the Authorised dealer )

Please, take a concern because my bike is dying.[emoji20]

Hi guys,
I own a pulsar 150 which is 2007 model. Recently i was unable kick start the bike once i turn the ignition off and on. went to the mechanic, he checked the spark plug. The spark was not coming from the plug. Removed the cdi and beat it slightly against the wall and put back into its place. The spark was coming now and the bike started. he told me its the cdi problem and needs to be changed. I got the same problem 1 more time and i myself removed the cdi without going to the mechanic. did what exactly the mechanic did and cleaned every plug joint with wd 40 as well. placed it back and the bike started. after i have done this, i never faced this issue. so i doubt its the cdi issue or not. I need expert advice here.

I have a pulsar 150 ug3 2007 model... I buy it with some engine issues..but i got it fixed.. but after that my bike starts overracing.. mechanic said it is normal ..he says that it will be become normal after some time..but rode it about 700 kms...but prblm remains same...plz help me to fix that issue

I have purchased my pulsar 150 2016 model, since from the second service, I'm feeling something bad related to its engine.
While accelerating, it gives noise(kat kat), i have been to service centre for about 10+ times. Finally they said that, a new scissor gear is installed and the sound will gradually decreases.
But still some sort of( same) sound is coming while accelerating. Its like some gears are not adjusted.

Few local mechanics said, a reboring process will fix the sound, but I'm not in a mood to go for local service centres, and how can a new bike gives bore problem.
What might be the problem here can anyone help me out ! Plz.

the engine head got busted ..it was completely destroyed.. after that the mechanic fix it and any necessary changes..but after that it starts overracing.. when it's on neutral the rpm is good.after when i ht the gear and pull the clutch it starts overracing and after some time it came at easy rpms.. and while riding when i pull the clutch for change gear.... Again it starts overracing in running

I think this may be a problem with clutch plates, because as you mentioned, "it overraces during clutching" and a wrong arranged engine!

This is just my knowledge, as I'm an engineering student, still in the learning process.

My pulsar 150 (2007 model) giving minor throttle missing while riding in relatively high speed. It is not recognizable in low speed . I went to the mechanic but he was unable to detect this when he rode my bike, but i am sure the problem is there. I have recently cleaned carburetor as well as the gas tank. So what could be the culprit ??? expecting quick response.

Oil leak in pulsar 150 exhaust

Hi friends, this is my first post to xbhp.
I have pulsar 150 UG4 2013 model with 25700 KM. All services done in authorized Bajaj service center at Bangalore. No outside work so far.
From past one week I am observing that oil is coming out of my silencer. Given to the service center where I used to give from day 1 in Bangalore.
There is no white\Black smoke coming from exhaust. Engine is fine. Last service done at 23400KM.

Here are the assumption made by the technicians at first sight.

1. Engine bore kit replacement needed
2. Silencer change is needed.


Since it ran only below 26000 KM I told there no chance of bore kit & silencer replacement since I have done all the services on time (4000-5000 KM).
They have checked the pulsar job code history and found that all the service were done in their center only.
Advised me to keep the bike there for 1 day. Morning they will check whether any white smoke coming out while starting.
I went back on second day and they have told like there is no issue with the piston. Engine oil is fine. No smoke is coming while starting.
Gave me the explanation that probably children/somebody have put some oil from backside to the exhaust.
I have asked is there any issue with piston ring? They told no issues are there.
I am not satisfied with the response so far. Anybody have experienced this kind of oil leak in past.
Please suggest the path forward

Yeah i have experienced same thing on my friend's pulsar 2012 model, this may be due to carbon deposits on the piston. If that carbon is cleaned means you can feel the complete combustion of the petrol and so the power too. Do not try this without an experienced mechanic.

thanks for the response. but, are you sure its because of carbon deposit inside the piston? once, a mechanic told me it may be problem with carburetor but who knows. i think i need the bike to be examined by an experienced mech.
