Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
hello friend, i'm using motul 7100 FS now but in the span of 3400 Kms the oil level has got too low i think i vaporizes on hard ripping therefore i was planning to use motul 3100 20W50 Gold (mineral) so can you tell me the details about cost, performance and its drain intervalOriginally posted by maadyy View Post@Akash.Yadav : Bro In Technosynthese comes is 5100 15W50 (SS). Thats the oil I have used earlier, but it was duplicate or what I don't know but was awestruck with the amount of oil drained out. So I have decided to go for Motul FS 7100 20W50 (FS) from a registered counter. Lets see how it turns out to be. Earlier here as mentioned by Prince it is safe not to use FS for our pulsars, he has stated some reasons also. Just want to check the performance before I go back to mineral oil.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Exactly bro thats the problem with SS or FS oil. When we rip hard the oil tend to vaporises. One of my mate here referred me mineral oil. From my personal experience also I admit the same. I was earlier using that oil motul gold. My drain period was 2000km when i rode sanely that is below 70kmph, ripping hard or taking bike regularly above 80 I reduced the drain period to 1300km. So I suggest keep the oil level in check once you cross 1000km. Some people go for top up, but I will suggest to drain the oil completely rather than topping up. Also the way of your ride matters like I used to take my bike at 47kmph in first gear itself as per the speedo. That was the max. So you can understand I used to really rip hard. Now as per your riding style you can check your oil level and decide the drain period.
Afyer changing the bore kit I am in run I period. Bajaj asc has used elf gold 20w40 oil. I drained the oil at 300km and the bajaj asc guys used the same oil now its 650km and I am gonna drain the oil and planning to get motul gold 20w50 that is the mineral oil.
motul 3100 20W50 Gold (mineral) It will cost you something around 390, as used last time the performance was good. The most important hing was it used to keep my engine cool.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Some Experience about my Pulsar 150 UG 4.5,
Purchased on 26 March 2011
Total Kilometers done till today 38400, Average fuel economy is 53-55 Km/L
I use Motul 3000 4T 20W50 for last 7 times Oil Drains, I replace my oil at 2500 Kms and service the bike at 5000 Kms
Never face any major problems except chain loose, and sometimes breaks loose.
Did a long trip of 600 Kms from Goa t Ratnagiri last monsoon and it was awsome
I am happy with the performance of my bike.
Keep your bike well maintained and it will deliver best performance
Cheers to all Pulsar Maniacs

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
I follow a general oil drain interval mate. Mineral - 2-2.5K kms, Semi-Synthetic - 4-4.5K kms and Synthetics - 6-7k Kms, although I don't think Full Synthetic will be helping me with my style of sedate riding. I have used Semi-Syn oils only which provide best of both worlds and are lighter on pocket too. Motul 3100 is mineral and should be good for 2-2.5k kms if you are sedate rider. Keep an eye on the watch glass for oil level. Not sure about Motul cost since I am yet to use Motul but have heard good reviews about it on our very forum by fellow brothers. I am half way through my Petronas 15W50 semi-syn oil having covered 2064 kms on this oil. In another 2-2.5K kms I'll be draining this and pouring in fresh juice.Originally posted by sanket779292 View Posthello friend, i'm using motul 7100 FS now but in the span of 3400 Kms the oil level has got too low i think i vaporizes on hard ripping therefore i was planning to use motul 3100 20W50 Gold (mineral) so can you tell me the details about cost, performance and its drain interval

@Akash.Yadav and @maadyy
Bro. please help me, I have pulsar 150 2011 Model..
Before 3-4 days my Bike used to start in 1 kick or self in the Cold Morning...........
Before 2 days I went for a long trip and rode the bike for Around 180 Kms and the speed was over 90 most of the time, Now from last 2 days I am facing cold start problem,
In morning while starting my bike for the 1st time, It doesn't get started in 1st Kick or self, I have to work hard to get it started, Usually it is taking 4-5 kicks at-least to start my bike, It was not like that before 2-3 days.......
I don't like this, Please help me to get rid of this problem, I want my Pulsar to get started within 1 kick in morning as it used to do............
Thanks in advance for all your help............
Temperature is around 2-3 degree in our area (Haryana), It was also 2-3 degre when my bike used to start in one kick, No change in Weather conditions...
I used Choke and then tried Kick, it did not even start after using Choke also, It takes at least 5-6 kicks to start and then I have to use choke...........
I ride my bike daily for about 15-20 kmsLast edited by rkg.narnaul; 01-09-2014, 02:48 PM.

I had set the Idle RPM around 1.2k RPM at that time...........
I did not take care to notice those changes so can't tell anything surely........
Before going to ride, I had Washed the bike fully with water.....................

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
1. Check the RPM now if it is 1200.Originally posted by rkg.narnaul View PostDon't remember buddy...........

2. Check for carbon deposit in spark plug .
3. Also use choke in the morning and let the bike be idle for at least 10secs in choke mode.b SANE to b insane!

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Same problem with mine last year it didn't had any problem but this year it take the same 4-5 Kicks or self to start, may be the culprit is low engine oil or improper carburator tuning (due to these idiot mechanics in jaipur) will service my bike in feb myself this time

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
[As Maadyy said, get the spark plug cleaned. I still believe that the spark plug is the culprit here. The recommended change of spark plug is 10K and yours is already 13K on odo. I would say, get the spark plugs changed now, both of them. Ask the service center guys to check the battery too, it might be low on juice (power) or the water level might be low. Add distilled water and distilled water only. Don't use mineral water or normal tap water to fill up the battery. It will ruin the battery.Originally posted by rkg.narnaul View Post@Akash.Yadav and @maadyy

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
Hi bro I beg to differ here a little. My ODO is reading 20000kms but I am still running in default spark plug and till date I don't have any cold start problem but yes definitely every service I got it cleaned. Also every morning I start my bike at the first crank itself.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View Post[

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions
I did the preventive maintenance of replacing the spark plugs at 10xxx kms. Per the bike's bible (manual), it is 15K when the spark plugs need replacement. My next change would be only after 15K kms on this pair. I am taking my guess that the cold temperatures and less/more gap between the electrodes of the spark plugs is the culprit here. The gap should be 0.6mm to 0.8mm, so can try to clean the plugs and maintain the gap. But once it starts to loose the conductivity and spark, I think its better to replace. One more reason could be lean/rich fuel+air mixture.Originally posted by maadyy View PostHi bro I beg to differ here a little.
