Mate, you can try sourcing them from Pune. Well, its the birth place of Pulsar and definitely there should exist at least one SVC with spares. Have you tried putting an order at your trusted SVC?

How much on the odo bro? Also for how long you runcle rode the bike, as in how many kms has he clocked?
Looks to me like you clutch plate is worn out. I can understand that since the way of riding has changed so clutch usage must have been more than usual. But this is only speculation here, need odo reading.

        I stay in west bengal.
I need the air filter compartment of p 150 ug 2.
After cleaning the air filter element, when I was in the process of refitting it, one of the screw holes broke off. Presently the cover of the air filter compartment is somehow at its place with the help of remaining 3 screws. I even know the part no. of the spare.
First I ordered it from the local bajaj svc. they took a week's time but still couldn't procure it.
The next big svc is at Siliguri. I didn't get it even there. I even tried at Malda svc. Presently they have asked me to contact after 20th July. Lets see.... but I am not very hopeful.

        • Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions

Having bought a Pulsar 150 UG3 few months back, started different mods for exploring more performance from the bike. Firstly, swapped in the 180 UG4 sprocket chain set and am very comfortable with that mod. Got a cheap conical air filter off ebay last week. I cut the sealed plastic air box in a triangular shape just that I can fit in the filter into the rubber hose inside. After little trimming of the hose, fastened the filter in place. I did not cover back the triangular cut portion for more air intake. The top rubber air inlet below the seat was as original, unaltered. Bike's low end torque and back pressure reduced so I thought its running lean. Covered and sealed the top air inlet and removed the rubber temporarily. Low end torque was somewhat restored as well as the bass grunt from the air box. I haven't altered the AFR setting as I thought various settings will go haywire. What can be done to increase little low end torque? I have not opened the BS26 carburetor to note the main jet size. I have read in this forum about upjetting after free flow air intake. What should be the next suitable jet size to adjust the free flow of air?

The upsize is relational to the air filter you installed. Usually people upgrade to a K&N. But what brand have you uograded to? Sometimes it happens that the product may not be qualitative and the upjetting may not be needed at all. Please provide the details of brand and picture if possible.Upjetting is not a DIY unless you have removed carbs earlier. It may appear to be a small part but it is very critical. Best would be to take it to a mech. If he is experienced, he may not suggest the upgrade at all :-)

The brand of the filter is HP. Bought from EBay India for Rs 250. Had to spice the rubber hose a bit. Tools needed were a 1 inch hexaw blade, spanners and screw drivers.

                Great work there mate.

As a first step you could try this. Depending on your inference, working around the air screw setting alone will help for this type of air filter mod.
If you still want to upjet, try the jet kit (Pilot jet, Main jet holder+jet) of P180 and that should cost you roughly 150/-

BTW, I guess the air filter box should be completely removed for optimum performance and only then you will need upjetting.
If the air filter mod is that effective, there would be an increase in power. Obviously the exhaust system should also be looked at - FFE!!!

Fellow BHPians should be able to shed more light if necessary.

                • Pulsar 150 stalling issue while accelerating

                  Hi Guys,

I am pretty new to this forum and don't have deep knowledge about bikes(learning)!!!

                  I own Pulsar 150 UG 4.5 - 21K ODO.. 2 years old from Ahmedabad!!

Recently I got it serviced by local mechanic(Big mistake maybe) after which I have been facing strange problem with the bike.
As soon as I try to accelerate beyond 6000 RPM iet starts stalling as if fuel is empty. Bike makes strange sound from silencer at the same time as if trying very hard to go on..

Even my acceleration has reduced it seems and mileage has gone down drastically since then!!! Till date I used Motul 5100 as engine only but since service it was changed to Castrol power 1. Its been 25 days since the issue started..

I am not speeding beyond 70Km/h since I am afraid I will ruin the engine.. Recently discovered that bike is not even touching speed of 80 and makes weird sound as if engine is coughing.. Now its really nagging me and I need to resolve this. Please pass on suggestions on what could be causing this.

                    Hi Guys

This is just to share my view of my Pulsar 150 UG4.5 . I bought her in 2011 on this very same day . Initially my total riding distance was around 25+25kms to office and coupled with that she used to come with me to all those weekend rides.

Althought she never troubled me or ditched me in the middle of the road, I was feeling that the new bike feeling was being lost with every service in the BASS. For every reported issue, I would come back home with couple of new ASS induced problems. Replacement of parts had become her habit.
Clutch plates were changed at 17k kms, diaphrams were changed once in 3 months/every service ( which almost proved that she was a lady who needed changes at regular intervals ) , still I felt she is not like before. One thing I love is there are no vibrations, she runs butter smooth with occational gear shifting issues thrown in based on her mood. Pickup and top speed were reducing and the reasons given by ASS were all tried but still no improvements. More over she started bleeding oil from cylinder head and till date there were 3 head pasting jobs done in ASS (last one is good, because I went berserk after 2 jobs and to still find her leaking and shouted on prettymuch every one).

I was considering selling her off and almost had booked a duke 390 being fed up with all this.

Now I shifted close to my office and being fed up of BASS, I took her to nearby Castrol bike point for service. And guess what, oh boy I stood with the service centre guys, the center manager while my baby was taken care. The level of personal attention given was something which I never got to see in ASS. She is back to normal now, feels like how I rode her first and off went Duke 390.

From my personal experience, it is not the Bajaj bikes that are un reliable, it is the ASS that makes them so. Best to take her to trusted local mechanic and see your bike last long without catching transmited diseases at BASS.

Were your clutch plates changed/checked ? Fading clutch plate can be one reason.

Get your carb diaphram checked first. This could be the main culprit IMO.

                                Hello people,

I am planning to get a used 150 for commuting.
But seeing the new gen pulsars I am not happy with the console and the fairing and the fact that 1st gen pulsars are out of stock, there is no way I can get those.

So my plan is to get any gen pulsar 150 and retro mod it, round head lamp, analogue consoles and the 15 liter tank.

                                Any suggestions?

                                Cheers
