    Thanks for the reply Prince.
But its now about 4000KM when I have replaced my cylinder-piston kit.
Everytime I ask them to set it the do make some change in the tunning pin/nut.
but the output in terms of mileage is same.
Can you help me understanding what should be my appropriate mileage in the driving conditions i specified, and what can be suggestions for me to get a better mileage?

      Thanks Akash Yadav.

I'm very sure that i do pull the clutch completely. But i never let the bike warm up during the morning. I will try that.
Also, yes, my bike do feels very hot after a few km's run. Maybe its over heating, how can i reduce the heating ?

You can try a couple of things mate.
If the oil is old then change it to a better one. Bajaj oil lasts for about 1000-1500 kms, after this it starts showing degradation. Will suggest you Motul or Shell.
Overheating can be becuase of either lean or rich mixture. Get your carb tuned from a good mechanic. He will know for sure the ideal mixture. Adjusting clutch setting will further help.
Try the above and you should be able to find some betterments. By the by, don't expect Yamaha style gearshifts, Bajaj has a long way to go

          • Want new pickup in old pulsar

            Hello
            New to this community.
On two wheels from cycle to Priya scooter to pulsar 150.
Alredy have Indica. Got pulsar from the first owner just to learn to ride a motorcycle.
2003 year bike had 16500 km on odo nice pick up good self start when I got in fen 13.
I was told that this is not a good Nike for learners and all the mechanics I went to vehemently said no to buy this bike even without looking at it.against all odds I got this bike because this was the only bike I could get for 14000 with self start and strong engine.1st owner told me he used to get 42 mileage and bike had relavantly new rear tire. On purchase I changed the oil and cleand airfilter.bike was running fine but vibrating alot. After few days I noticed few black threads coming from rearside chain cover. Tried pulling it but it won't come out. Went to the mechanic and got the chain cover removed and what I find is about 3 feet of black cloth like someones dupatta entangled between chain and the sprocket.mechanic removed it and relubricated the chain and tightened it a bit.
After learning and running the bike for another 700 km there was no problem.pick up was really good.then I tried to improve the mileage.all I know is there is a nut along the fuel line that controls the fuel to the engine and if you tern it counter clock wise then there is less fuel.I did that. Otherwise there was not much of difference.only few times it used to stop unnatural standing.it was fine for few days.but then suddenly the power and pick up that I used to get between half throtel to full throtel is gone.I went to the mechanic he said it's the problem with clutch.as it was old bike I agreed and he changed the clutch plates and pressure plate and put some new oil.he also did some thing with valves and made my kick so hard like bullet.he said there was not enough air pressure created.bike is running very smooth now but still it just don't go above 70km speed.I need help whether I ahold get fuel line cleaned or there is some other problem.the good part is I am getting about 52 km per liter mileage because of low pick up.but there is no fun though.

i have pulsar 150 ug3, i have recently changed my block piston due to bike emitting smoke and engine oil reducing.
now when i refilled the engine oil i used motul 20w50 and bike was smooth and clear. but after 1000km the oil have reduced when i checked the oil level through the small glass on engine. and now when i raise the accelerator it emits smoke ..so want to ask is there a problem or oil get evaporate due to use ? if yes how much oil should get reduce ? and after changing oil it does not emit smoke and oil level is same till 1000km after that it star reducing ?? please help me m very much in tension i cannot afford changing oil after 1000km .. please help me

                  That really helped
But i will still go ahead and get my clutch adjusted.

I would actually ask our P220 brothers to jump in and help. I am just at the starting line so won't be able to go technical with this.
Sorry mate, I hope our mods/P220 owners see this and help you/us out.

Mate, need a little more information here.
Which oil did you change to Motul Mineral , Semi synthetic or Full Synthetic ?
What is your riding style, sedate or full-on high rev action ?
                        Condition of spark plugs ?
Oil level is reducing, ok, but by how much ?
Have you checked if there is leakage from the head ?
Is there any loss in performance as you felt before the change was done ?

As per the posts here , i can only assume a few things and say. But regardless of that, the oil is not supposed to evaporate within 1000kms, that's not normal for even mineral, so it shouldn't happen for SS or FS oil either. Now unless you are a very high revving rider then there are chances of mineral oil getting used up. It can also be improper installment of the new block piston or a improper run-in that damaged the rings causing oil blow by. Or even could be bend valves, have you checked the condition of the stock valves ? Was proper valve seating done ?

                        Cheers

I used motul semi-synthetic 20W50 and my riding style is simple ,my max speed is 65km/hr or less than that, conditions of spark plug is good, there is no leakage i have checked, and oil is getting evaporating like 100 to 200ml max per 1000km . and now i have switched on to castrol 15w40,as there is shortage of motul in our place, tell me is it good or i should go back to motul ss 20w50, but with 15w40 castrol semi-synthetic power1 my bike seem to be very free .

                          • Re: Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions

Hi guys, Im new in bangalore and have just recently purchased a 2nd hand 2008 p150 and need some routine maintenance to be done on it. Could you please suggest me someone nearby? This is my 1st bike of my own, though I have been riding my friends and relatives bikes for the past 4 years. Hence I wanted a trusted person so that I won't get cheated and ruin my bike.

I am having the following issues at present:

                            1. Metallic noise from engine (most probably tappet setting?)
                            2. Tires were worn out completely so for the moment I purchased 2nd hand tires (got the pair for Rs 700, Rear: MRF tubeless 120/80 [same as p220] with a tube fitted in it. I searched online and found mixed reviews. Mostly people said its not a permanent solution to run a tube in a tubeless tire but is it okay to last 2 months/1500km approx??) The rear tire is currently touching the chain cover and so Im not crossing 35-40kmph while driving and also im trying to drive as little as possible. Should I modify the chain cover? Or should I change it to p220 style? Would I also have to change the chain then? Hope to get this fixed soon. I plan to get new tires once Im able to confirm that Im continuing my stay in Bangalore.
                            3. Slight wobbling at speeds over 50kmph (hopefully wheel balancing could fix this)
                            4. Side stand light flickers when riding in the rain and also electric start only works in neutral (It was working fine before I drove in the rains, the bike would start in 1st/2nd gear with the clutch depressed)
                            5. RPM needle isnt at 0, its slightly over 0. It also seems a little lazy(I've driven p220 for a year so I am comparing with that)

                            Thanks in advance

Guys, Casstiel has completed 2 wonderful years with just 125xx kms on odo. Off lately I am experiencing some strange sounds, as if the bolts have gone loose and its kinda rattling heavy metal type of sound.
I feel that it is coming from the engine-chassis holding bolts, but have checked all the tighteners and they are in very good condition. No screw or bolt is missing, so it seems fine that way. I happen to hear this heavy rattle when I am accelerating and go beyond 20 kmph in any gear. It feels like the chassis is going to just come off. The rear too tends to make rattling sounds when I cross some uneven roads. I have checked the tool set and it is secured tight. Any ideas or inputs on this?
                              Regards,
