Lots of ppl have done this. Keep the old coil at home though. Dont throw it away! Cost is around 50 buck. On the UGIII, the neutral connector won't match. You will have to twist the wires together. Other than that its a direct fit.

Nope it is that transparent window on top left side of engine, and I don't know what's that thing visible in there, crankshaft.
And regarding that smell from engine when ripped,it is still there checked it just now.And my bike's top end has fallen considerably, during a trip last month(See my siggy) I was constantly cruising at 115K's and occasionally it would show 118 and even 121 once(Thanks to speedo errors).
Now coming back to my problem I went for a ride just now and was ripping as usual. But the top end is maxxed out at 105 and there were jerks constantly as if fuel's gonna end. What could be the problem?? Also silencer is metamorphosing itself into a free flow exhaust thanks to bajaj's build quality.
Here's a screenshot of my ride just now, look how the speedo is fixed at 105.

I use good old Castrol 90W Gear oil. I apply this oil every 2 weeks.
All 90W gear oils were in 1l cans,so bought 2T oil sachets. So Can I use it on chain??

        • Well, when did you last clean the airfilter? And does fuel actually flow freely thru the pipe from the tank?

Haha, my silencer is already like a ff one!

Castrol gear oil is available in 500ml. Its better than 2T oil.

And if that thing thru the window rotates, its the rotor drum. Mine does not have rust there though.

As I said earlier I don't trust SS anymore so no idea when did they clean airfilter,Will do it manually at home after searching for some DIY's.
Any heads up on that would be helpful abhi?

will try it tomorrow. But in the mean time as I've already bought those 2T oil packs, shall I used them for now??

Yup you're right. That thing rotates and there is a mark for checking something, like aligning something, not mentioned in Bajaj's manual but saw a similar one in my Dad's unicorn manual about that, not sure what it is though.

            • Yeah use up the old oil. Its nothing that critical.

Air filter, just replace. Costs 35-40 bucks.

Those are timing marks for the ignition. There is A, F and T marked on it. It is used to check if CDI is firing at proper timing.

Soak the air filter in soap (RIN or some washing powder) solution overnight. That should remove the grime out of the filter. Rinse thoroughly and dry it completely. Pour a little engine oil over the filter (not the carb intake side) and install it back.

Clean the chain with WD40 or diesel first. Use a toothbrush for cleaning. Then apply grease. Next apply the 2T oil. Don't pour too much oil, else it will get sprayed all over the main stand and rear tyre. Let the oil soak into the chain overnight.

I guess replacing air-filter is a better option as it's been used for 2yrs.Is replacing that just plug and play.Ok Airfilter is behing RH cover right, not under seat as in Unicorn.

                  • I need some help and advice....I have a P150 dtsi round headlamp ones.....two days b4 when I was riding from office, the bike behaved strangely. When I increased the trottle I could feel that something is holding back the engine from accelarating.......like as if I have stepped onto the brake and trying to accelarate.....I stopped the bike and took one minute break, started again....only this time even though after doing a proper shifting, I felt like the same and also a tapping noise......not sure what it is.....one more thing to notice is that whenever I move my bike manually, I can hear the rolling noise of the chain.

My bike has clocked 22kms and should I change bike chain or should I be cleaning the engine or some kind of treatment
the pathless path to the knowable unknown

Yeah yesterday went to a mechanic to get the chain oiled and he adjusted something and ever since even I can hear the rolling noise of chain. What needs to be done.
And one more thing, today while cleaning the bike noticed this bent pipe,it was bent and some deposits formed inside it.I tried to straighten it,but no use.Could this be the reason for the jerk that I mentioned yesterday.

The chain is too tight! That pipe is not the air intake pipe but is used to equalize carb air pressure with atmospheric pressure. Make sure it is not clogged at the other end due to mud. You can even remove this pipe as it tends to get clogged after some time.

It is under the bike near the main stand. You can pull it out from the carb end and see. I am running without it. I had faced issues due to clogging hence removed it.
