Brother,Fitting p220 engine in classic p150 is impossible!!!...... you can mod your bike by fitting airfilter, upjetting carb, freeflow exhaust, sprocket change, boring the cylinder.............. If you really want the thrill of P220 the best thing is to sell Your classic 150 and buy a second hand p220....
2)Every bike has its own Engine number..... If by chance you get p220's engine also, you have to change your bike's RC...

Recently had to change the clutch case and the carb due to ageing issues as they failed but the bike runs as smooth as ever without any complaints. Changed the shocks to the new Discover ones and it takes bumps as if none existed . Have got a new ZMA-R too but I love the pulsar and will keep it until its lasts.

whawww..thts nice to hear tht u luv ur P150..my is UG2.now its 60000kms..but i guess my clutch case is ok and carb too..may b i need to clean the c plates or change carb seals..its a single use..i rip above 80 occasionally..let me c..but rit nw im behind tyres.i want somthng better.for 1800/-..need more grip in wet.but it shld not hold too much in dry and lose acceleration.

          • Hello guys,

            I own a Pulsar 150 Dts-i, and I hav ea tyre problem :P

Ok. So i have installed an mrf zapper 120/80-17 as my rear tyre and the front is default.
Now the problem is that the tyre's tread have become a bit wierd, so the bike skids a lot .
Hence I want to change my tyre and this time I am thinking of reverting back to the default 100/90-17.

Any tyre suggestions? Is the pirelli scorpion available in this size? Any others available in this size??

The weird treading is causing a lot of problems besides just skidding. Hence thinking of changing it asap.

Also my front trye is a good 25k old. Does it need replacing? The Bajaj service centre guys say no but still asking for your opinion.

            Thanks

            • ^^ Thread pattern are weird? How so? It should not skid. Is the tyre installed in reverse direction?

@all - Are there any rear shocks in the market (from other bikes) which are better the P150 Classic's default ones and fit perfectly?

The Nitrox shocks from the latest pulsars should be a direct fit, have seen several of em on classic pulsar

The question is are they worth it? Will they behave the same way on my bike as they do on the latest Pulsars? (My bike's swingarm is shorter than the latest ones, hence the doubt) And, have you experienced the ride yourself?

(Oops sorry if I asked too many Qs!)

Now this is tricky & answerable only by the ones who have done it & used it.

I myself wanted to fit one but then I found it wasn't a direct fit to my bike.

Technically speaking it should Improve your handling a bit, if not to the levels of new pulsars.

If you wana try it be ready to shell out 2.6k, I guess it is 1300 a piece afaik

Btw how much is the stock classic rear shocks ??

Wierd as in the treads are uneven..one sid has flattened out while the other side hasn't... so a bit wierd.... handling main issues hota hai.. plus too many punctures so air leakage is also a problem so less tyre pressure doesn't help much either.. but its the wierd treading that is the real issue here.. hence thought it would be better to revert to the original tyre size..

Last asked, it was around 800 bucks per piece. I dont want to improve handling, the short swing arm makes it flickable enough, just that comfort level is not at par with today's bikes with gas charged shocks.

Hmm.. it seems like something is bent - swingarm, alloys etc. But size alone should not have caused this.

Got my bike serviced at the Sai Service Bajaj Centre yesterday. Told them about the problem. Also told them that there could be a bike alignment issues. They said they do not have the equipment to do that but he did fix a few things, a new cone set in the front and swingarm bushing and the bike is far stable now. but haven't yet tried it full fledged riding.....

Where do I get the bike alignment done btw? I do not know of any place which does for bikes!

                          • ^^ Wheel alignment and balancing can be done at some tyre shops. Rest of the parts are replaced if bent. Done at SVC.

                            • Hmm ok.. will check up with tyre shops around my house! ...

Got the Alloy wheel checked today, it is not bent, phew! So the wheel is out of question I presume.

What are the other parts I need to check up on?

                              • ^^ Bent swinarm, worn out bushes, wheel bearing etc... else maybe a defective tyre itself.
