Once I had noticed that the tachometer stuck up at 1.5k after starting. It also became OK on restarting. Is it serious?Has anyone experienced a thing like this on their on their bike too?
Dear Friends a big hi to all..
I got first service of my bike done at society motors,Kanpur.I asked the mechanic to check the electricals But they didn't find anything abnormal. He said that it may be due to rainy season. But before three days I got the same problem again.Stopped my bike,Switched off the ignition and when tried to start after some time the same thing happened as before. The IGNITION 'ON',ENGINE KILL SWITCH 'ON' , GAUGE CHECK 'OK'
But when I tried to start ;STARTER didn't buzz.I switched ON the Lights but unsuccessful.I switched off the ignition two three times and everything went back to normal. But when the starter wasn't working the bike was getting started by kick. Please help me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way has anyone got the wiring diagram for U G 4.5.It would be of great help in tracking down the problem.thanks in advance

    • My bike is behaving strangely these days, I think. When I ride it for a short distance, my bike starts idling at 2000 rpm and consequently drinks more petrol! I don't even need to ride for 50-100 kms but just a short ride of 10 kms increases the idle RPM to 2000! Is it something serious?

Also, vibrations are a lot in my bike. even when riding at 60-80kmph. Is it the engine oil (I put in Motul 4T) and have completed only around 1,000 kms so far?

I put the Michelin Sirac tyres in the back. Could it be because of the heavy tyres that my bike is stressed?

I get my bike serviced from Reddy's.

Bro,its not a wiring problem, its because the connector switch which is coming from battery(to bikes electricals) will be either loose or there may be a chance for water to enter into it,disconnect it and clean the pins with a neat cloth and reconnect it and ur problem is solved

Get ur carb tuned by a experienced mechanic in svc.the rpm must be 1.4~1.5k for cold conditions and ~1.8k for hot engine.
For vibrations u have to check with the svc,i dont think it is the problem with tyres

        • Some help pls!

          Bike: Pulsar 150 Dts-i '05
          Kms done: 43000

I recently put my bike through some major service and replacement regimen...

I've replaced the Clutch, timing chain, sprockets and air filter to name a few.

After the service I can feel the improvement in torque delivered to the wheel owing to the new clutch. The problem is that I feel like the bike revs higher than it should. In other words, it feels like I'm not going fast enough for a 5000 rpm. This maybe because during the time my bike was being serviced, I was riding an Apache 150.

If anyone could post the speedo reading on 5th gear for 4000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 rpms respectively, it would help me verify my doubts.

          Thanks guys.

              • guys yesterday i made few checks up for my bike before i go for long planned trip in near future. Mine is p150 ug3 mech said bike is good but shld change the clutch plates , they will run easily upto 2K-2.5K more kms. I read on xbhp that a mech in mumbai [reddy] puts p180 's clutch plates in p150 is this true and what are the pros & cons of doing this.

                • Hi everyone,

Is it possible to use the 180 clutch plate on 150? I've heard that some of the guys are using it for better transmission. Any idea?

Pls share the pros and cons.

i've just created another thread, have a look and coment:

i am getting a mileage of 45-50 kmpl with KnN filter, NGK iridium spark plug. i have also changed the rear tyre from 100/90 to 120/80. no change in alloy required. it all depends upon your riding habits. if i ride fast and rough i get 45-47 but if i ride smoothly without putting more stress on engine i get 48-49. i get 50 rarely. but it is ok for a 6yrs old bike.

                        • hey guys..
My uncle owns a old pulsar 150 classic model. (Round headlight)
I guess its almost 8yrs. old and facing some serious issues.
M planning to keep the bike wid me and spend on it. and later on might Mod on it like K&N, ngk, free flow. HID and all.
So is it worth doing all these on such a old bike. ????
Is anyone using tht model ??????

                              • atlast almost after a year my bike acheived the top speed of 110km/h and still had some juice left but i slowed down. i just wanted to check the top speed. i have done head polishing about 8 months back and so had some oil leak. my bike wasn't in proper shape so i wasn't pulling the bike above 100. but last week i did my normal servicing and changed the packing of the head. ALLZ WELL after that. no oil leak. so i am happy.
